Visited Applegreen Hinckley A5 Site Friday 25th Feb 2022 at 16:52 on way home to Shropshire, They now have a new Typed sign on the Pumps: PRE PAY ONLY.
Paid for 20 Litres of Diesel after queing, asked the kiosk attendant, why PRE PAY? quick short answer fuel theft, I asked did they not use ANPR, yes we have it but company will only use PRE PAY.
Went back to the car to dispense the PRE PAID fuel, What an inconvenience when it would only dispense 19.52 Litres, went back to the counter, after queing again, advised the attendant of the shortfall in the fuel dispensed, his attitude was "Do you want the 72p refunding", I said of course I do and the refund was processed onto my credit card. What is normally a straight-forward process took twice as long as it normally takes at other filling stations.
I will have to be extremely short on fuel to "EVER" use an Applegreen Fuel Site again.

Visited Applegreen near Spalding PE12 6FY as a meeting point with a friend as Applegreen was a mid way point. At first it looked a great idea, large filling station and shop and a big seating area for those eating food from Greggs, Subway or Costa but the tables and floor were filthy (this was at 10am on a Tuesday morning).
As for the toilets, it's many many years since I saw toilets associated with a filling station in such a poor filthy state. There was only 1/3 toilets working and even that wouldn't flush. The place was a breeding ground for every bacteria and viral germ known to man. The place is a $hit hole and I won't be returning.

Scam of Applegreens 'Rewards Scheme'.

I got a loyalty card from Applegreen Stores about 3 years ago & got my diesel and petrol from them each and every time where 'points' were added to my card.

When I reached > 10,000 points, I then redeemed these points for credit against my Airtricity (gas and electricity) account to which there was no credit ever applied.

When I contacted Airtricity about the missing credit, they said to get in touch directly with Applegreen as Airtricity did not receive any notification from Applegreen to have the credit applied. When I contacted Applegreen 'Rewards' scheme section on their rewards @ e-mail address they replied to me with absolutely no text in their reply failing to address the issue, and I had given all of the information required for them to investigate the issue (the credit application dates, confirmation of credit e-mail from them etc.)

As of right now, there is no answer from any of their administration offices including their 'Rewards' department.

DO NOT give your details to them for their rewards schemes as this is a scam to get you to continue to use them over other fuel providers.
