I was tricked into signing a petition on this site, it is a Scam and should be ignored and blocked!!!
NEVER EVER send them money!!!
I saw that the numbers signing didn't go up, ever though they claimed 1.8M had signed their petition!!!
DON'T give them your email, or any other personal details!!!

I just sign the more important petitions , I rarely get spam and its only for important petitions that I'm happy to sign .
They are like many charities that have one off donations and standing order donations that repeat every month , it's a bit too easy to press for repeat donations by mistake and it's quite hard to correct the mistake . Loss a star for that .
Currently they have 1.4 Million signatures on a petition to Trial Putin for war crimes , I think that's pretty good .

I have changed my email address since signing up to subscribe to the AVAZZ platform and I have not been able to contact them to cancel my subscription as you have to enter the original email and password that you signed up with and I have no way of receiving or sending messages to that old account. I have contacted my bank and they have now stopped the payments going out but have warned me that they may try to take them again!

Avaaz uses emotive images, picking up on the latest global crisis, to campaign and raise money. However, although 'Avaaz has donated tens of millions of dollars to other organisations, because we saw them as better placed than us to have impact on a particular issue', supporters have to take on trust that it was well spent. The Avaaz website does not acknowledge or honour those organisations by name, or indicate why they are trustworthy and effective. The assurance that 'every last cent' will go to those suffering is surely absurd, thus borderline dishonest. You can plough through Avaaz's dry, legally required accounts, but there is fairly minimal detail about grants. It would not be costly to produce an easily visible user-friendly presentation of annual accounts, with a list of all grantee organisations by name, to increase transparency. Without full transparency the reputation of humanitarian work generally is damaged. Avaaz is excellent at self-promotion, and at denigrating other organisations for being cumbersome and inefficient. But I tried twice to contact them re grant accountability and received no reply. Only when I put a negative review on Trustpilot did I get a response. I'd like to think they're as great as the line-up of big names complimenting them makes out, but for me the lack of a cool, easily readable summary of accounts, with acknowledgement of grant partners by name, and positive celebration of partnership working, not just 'our community', leaves a bad taste.

I have been a member since 2010. I use a unique email address that is only available to Avaaz and I have never received spam (i.e. people here claiming to get spam from Avaaz are obviously getting the spam from somewhere else) and so they definitely do not sell email addresses.

They always work on projects which I find to be worthwhile. Yes they might be a cause of potential "slacktivism" (click and forget) but on the other hand, the petitions they start end up getting millions of signatures and in several cases that I am aware of, they actually do have some type of effect in raising global awareness for issues plaguing humanity and stopping or at least hindering situations from getting worse.

My only concern with Avaaz is that they are not a non-profit and so we can't see where and how the the donations are distributed.

I ordered an awesome Christmas lawn ornament for my sister November 2, which arrived December 6, containing a Halloween Lawn Ornament instead. Unfortunately, she had thrown out the receipt along with the packing materials. The company refuses to send the correct item without the receipt and has accused me of lying claiming Halloween stock ran out at the end of October. Oh well, at least she received something for my efforts and will enjoy her Christmas present next October. Merry Christmas and Happy Halloween!

Used to sign petitions in "secure" avaaz, but my email box is now full of SPAM every day, starting from sexual email to all kinds of phishing and scams. I never gave permition for my email adress to be distributed. "Secure" Avaaz sells email adresses, and unsolicited emails from Meetic even come with a tittle: «through avaaz», which confirms where all the SPAM came from.

They are scammers

I also have contacted Avaaz 3 times to cancel my donation. They do not reply. I have to cancel my credit card to cancel their account.

I have had no problems with single donations to Avaaz but I did have a withdrawal problem with a computer company that was taking annual amounts because I did not read the SMALL PRINT. I immediately went to my bank and requested them to cease payments and they did. You can do the same.

I am very disappointed to find that many months ago I sent Avaaz a 'once off' donation of R80.00, which they have just kept debiting my account with up until now, the latest date being 5th August 2021.
I specifically instructed that this was a once off payment which they are ignoring.
PLEASE delete my name from your subscriber list immediately, I do not have the funds to donate. The payment was a single and sincere donation only.

Thank you for your good work! Hope you manage to keep it up inspite of the bad reviews I am shocked to see here - are they for real? No one who have really seen what you are acheiving could rate you low.
I will gladly receive your petition, but please make the fb posts more informativ. And if possible, add more contribution alternatives. Would be so much easier with swisch.

I have donated single payments and never had any problems. I believe that many of these are fake reviews. Trolls.

nie rejestruje mojego głosu. po oddaniu go i otworzeniu petycji w oknie incognito kilka godzin po oddaniu głosu, nie ma go tam i liczba głosów sie nie zmienia. Ponadto mogę oddawać głos tyle ile chcę, co nie ma kompletnie sensu przy petycjach

They rant about how the actual oppressed people, people who don’t have the same mindset as them, like the people who think butchering babies is bad and that each individual is entitled to freedom, are the evil ones. We barely have a social media platform, most of the major organizations and news channels bombard us with biased news and go out of their way to hide or slander information, and the right almost never attacks anyone. But somehow they’re evil because they breath and Avaaz wants more money to fight against these supposedly evil people who already has the media and everyone else fighting against them. I liked it better when it was about stopping elephant poaching.

It seems I'm not the only one who donated once and then continued to be ripped off even though I sent messages and asked for my donation to be canceled. I can't help getting the impression this organization is not what it says it is.

I am sure Avaaz site is somewhat brainwashing site for people whose brain is already brainwashed! And getting these peoples votes! Not sure who's interest it serves, but not peoples!

They are doing a lot of great stuff. For different reasons, I needed to cancel my monthly donations. Within hours I got a polite thank you-letter where they immediately canceled my donation, and thanked for the support. Not at all like other reviews here are saying.

Thought Avaaz were good until I tried to cancel my subscription. They're worse than the people they claim to oppose. Don't subscribe. they're rip off merchants, they will not answer your requests to unsubscribe

I trusted a Avaaz but I decided to cancel my donations. I believe though they did a lot of important work in the past

But I couldn't send them an email, I went to my profile and removed my donation. However, they withdrawed money again from my account.

The solution was a cancellation of my credit card. It didn't cost me anything. But, really, Avaaz - this is not how you should behave...
