Crappy return policy

I was charged a $30 restocking fee for a defective product that I had been troubleshooting with the manufacturer for 2 months. Won't do business with this company again.

Fast Free Ship iPad 2 and No Tax !!

Ordered Ipad 2 on Dec 3 and got it Dec 5th. Was worried when read reviews here but called anyway. Found out all these reviews were when iPads were in short supply with Apple back in spring and AValive told customers such yet they ordered anyway. Mine was brand new in box with free shipping and no tax for me living in Calif. Awesome. Save 75.00.

Terrible experience

I ordered an iPad 2 on April 25th, 2011 from the Avalive website. It was going to be an anniversary gift for my wife. The description said that this particular iPad 2 was in stock, I then placed my order, and paid extra for two day shipping in hopes that I would get it by 4/28 (roughly). I tracked the status of my order every day up until 4/29, and the status remained at "confirming order with warehouse". I tried calling their phone number and always got an answering machine. I left messages to try to get a response to when my order would be shipped. I received an email stating that these particular items were back ordered and possibly could take up to 4 weeks to be shipped! I answered by email as to why this wasn't made mentioned of on their website, (why did I pay extra shipping then?) They returned an email asking if I still wanted to keep my place in line, or if I wanted to cancel my order. I gave it a few more days before I gave up on them. I did some research and the iPad I ordered was available elsewhere for the same price, so I cancelled my order. I wish I would have known the hassle that was in store for me. I felt misled by their "in stock" items on the website. I couldn't give my wife her anniversary gift 'til after the fact...I would not do business with Avalive again...hopefully this will save someone else the hassle as well...

Avoid Company at all Cost

I ordered the product on Apr 11, 2011 and is took so long for me to actually get the product, I had to order and overnight another product from elsewhere.
Also the product was drop shipped from another supplier that had the product for $400 less.
I tried to return the product completly unopened and they would not budge on their "open box" restocking fee.
I tried to complain and they discontinued communication.
It is companies like this that give online shopping a buyer beware marketplace.

By the way, I was a true customer of this company and this is a true review. Here is the product I ordered:

Terrbile Experience

I ordered the iPad 2 March 24, I am now writing a review and it is April 28th, no iPad in sight. My order status said it was in fact in stock, and that within 1-4 business days I would receive a tracking number. After 6 business days with no tracking number I called them up only be treated rudely and told that it in fact wasn't in stock. When told that their system automatically says that when my credit is charged. Why was my credit card even charged if it wasn't in stock. I have been talking to customer support and in mid sentence I've been hung up on, put on hold, and transferred to a voice mail. I have cancelled my order. When I was done cancelling my order, I called customer service, never once raising m voice or saying anything unnecessary or rude, I told them that due to there poor service I had cancelled my order. The customer service representative kept cutting me off saying that he was doing the talking not me, and that I was quote a "punk kid".

One thing I have noticed with this company and there reviews is they always have an excuse. It's never their fault. They need to take responsibility if they ever want to be considered a company. They are as of right now a "joke" and will never be anything more. I called apple and talked to a customer support representative who was patient, kind, and listened to what I had to say, unlike avalive. Hmm I guess apple doesn't just hire anyone. Other companies should consider this, then again avalive isn't a company. They are a pathetic excuse for an online seller at best.

A note to anyone who dares to attempt to buy anything from here, don't just don't. A horrible experience, I hope no one else will ever have to go through.

Long story short

Despite the contention of these bad reviews, I must say that my very first experience with AValive was terrible. Online store said product was in-stock. Placed order, charge was placed on my card. Next day I contacted them to check the status of my order, they had me sign and return a credit auth. THEN ANOTHER CHARGE was placed on my card FOR THE SAME AMOUNT (a large sum). After all of this, the CSR calls back to tell me the product is not in stock. I cancel my order and am still waiting for the charges to be reversed. In essence, I paid double for a product that wasn't even in stock, and am still waiting to get my money back.

I understand that mistakes get made, but judging from all of the other reviews of this company that I've read online, this crap happens ALL THE TIME at AValive. And yes... the CSR was crummy on the phone.

I will never, ever, ever use this vendor again, and I will deter any and all potential customers from using them. Play it safe and spend more money for reliable service.

9 reviews out of thousands served ?

Just wanted to clarify how untrustworthy these review services are. For example 9 reviews in 3 years hardly show what you can expect from any company especially ones that do thousands of transactions a month like this one. We do not solicit reviews from customers at checkout like 99% of the "highly rated " companies do (before a product even ships even!). We do not pay or offer incentives to customers for a review . We do not beg for a review from anyone. Bottom line these review services do not paint an accurate story of what you can expect since the complainers will always post first and 9 out of thousands served a month in 3 years hardly paint a real picture

We are not perfect but we try to do what's right !

AWFUL

*****ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS****AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS****

I ordered Intelix HDMI baluns from AVAlive - which were "in stock"....it took over a month for the things to even be delivered. And this was after I had to call their customer support and ask what the deal was...they didn't even have the courtesy to call me and update me with the status of the order! I had to call their RUDE staff and the only detail they could provide was that the item was on back order!

Had I known "in stock" really meant over a month wait period - I would've gladly moved my business to another vendor....not to mention, my clients would be much happier.

The story continues...upon finally receiving the 5 baluns, 1 of them was defective. Now, I have worked in the tech world for a long time and realize that these things happen - so using standard procedure...you issue an RMA. It's been 2 weeks now and AVAlive claims they still haven't gotten a response from the supplier...supposedly. An RMA # takes over 2 weeks?! I don't think so.

How about bypassing AVAlive all together and contacting the supplier for the RMA? Well, after asking 4x now, AVAlive still can't even give me a reference number to this particular case.

But don't worry, "Mary at Liberty Cable is working on this RMA...We too agree that this is unacceptable and we are holding Liberty Cable accountable"

RUN FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY - ESP IF YOU ARE A CUSTOM INTEGRATOR - NONE OF YOUR CLIENTS WILL BE HAPPY WITH HOW LONG THEY HAVE TO WAIT AND YOU WILL NOT BE HAPPY DEALING WITH RUDE STAFF AND DEAD-ENDS.

Called for information on product...

I didn't actually make a purchase. I called them after calling B&H Photo because the part I needed was on back order at B&H. I gave them the part number right from their website (which was the same part number B&H had) but they couldn't pull it up. I told them it was a middle weight for a Stedicam Merlin, manufactured by Tiffen. First they said they couldn't help me because they couldn't find the part. Once they finally found the part, they rudely blamed me for saying the manufacture was Tiffen instead of Steadicam. I asked to speak to a supervisor and they answered and asked me ..."why didn't you get the part from B&H Photo"? It's no wonder why so many businesses are failing. Customer service is terrible. They are disorganized. I would not trust this company with my hard earned money and my valuable time. I have a lot of money to spend on my own company, but it will not be spent at AValive. Search elsewhere.

Buyer beware & poor customer service

Warning if you are international customer!!!!

I requested that order be shipped by FedEx ground but AValive shipped my order by FedEx international priority without consulting with me.
At the end I had to pay more for shipping than what I paid for my order.
They never replied to my email when I asked for explanation why did they ignore my shipping instructions.
Buyer beware & poor customer service.

No Confirmation of Order even when the item was out of stock.

I ordered an expensive tripod from AValive. The order went through, but after two days, I hadn't received a confirmation email as promised. I emailed their customer service, and was told they were out of stock of my item. Normally it wouldn't have bothered me, but I feel like I should've been told they were out of stock when I placed the order AND that I should've received emails not only confirming my order but stating that the item was out of stock. Also, the customer service representative was very unfriendly - almost making it seem as if it were MY fault I didn't receive the emails (though I may have misinterpreted the attitude of the email). Either way, I got a response saying "There is no cancellation number. Your order, order #18643, has been cancelled. Your credit card was not charged." There's probably nothing to worry about, but I had no order confirmation and no order cancellation - causing me to be uneasy about giving my information to them.

cacelled order after 22 days of waiting

8 days after placing my order, I got an email asking whether it would be alright if my sonofiber panels shipped the following week. I said that was fine, and 19 days after placing the order, I was sent an invoice with a tracking number. When nothing arrived, I realized that the tracking number was someone elses. When I called them (22 days after order), they said it had not yet shipped, so I canceled the order. I will never buy anything from AVAlive again.

Great Pricing and They Answer Phone Calls

Have ordered multiple times from them and always found great pricing and good customer service. If item was back ordered or out of stock they have called me to ask about what I wanted to do. Only issue I have had is sometimes item says in stock but found out later it was back ordered. They told me they are working on the real time inventory issue

THEY LIE. HORRIBLE SERVICE.

I ordered a panasonic ag-hmc150 shooter's package, which included the camera case, and shotgun mic. When I made the order they did not mention to me that the additional items in the package were not on hand and were on back order. I found out only when I opened the box. When I called to ask why the other items were missing they said that they were on backorder from panasonic. I asked why they didn't mention this to me when I made the order and they replied that they didn't know. This was a flat-out lie as this had been happening since October. Then I checked on their website and the camera bag was listed as "in stock." When I emailed them this fact, they simply replied, "It is not." No apologies, no explanations. So I ordered the package in the beginning of December and I won't receive the whole thing until Dec. 30th.

They lie, they don't appreciate their customers, they don't respond to inquiries and their service level simply stinks. Stay away from them. I will never do business with them again and neither should you.
