Great for beauty and wellness treatments with good products and good hairdresser..Needs a few more classes in the water each week. Gym too busy

At the times that I go and use the gym 6pm weekdays it is far too crowded and has a lot of waiting around for equipment. Equipment is not spaced properly, gym is quite small. Weekend mornings are far better and less crowded, once can use machines or free weights and can flow nicely around your program then equipment is of a good standard. Some equipment needs upgrading and more cables and benches are needed

Peterborough’s men’s changing facilities and showers are in desperate need of refurbishment. They’re embarrassingly dated and dirty. The men’s showers are covered in black mould.

I recently had a 30-minute Swedish…

I recently had a 30-minute Swedish massage at Bannatyne - Hastings, and unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. The treatment was advertised as 30 minutes focusing on the shoulders, back, and neck, but in reality, it felt much shorter—closer to 15 minutes of actual massage time.

When I raised this with the masseuse, I was told that only about 20 minutes are hands-on, with the remaining time allocated to setup and preparation. This was never made clear at the time of booking, and it feels misleading. If you specifically book a 30-minute session, you naturally expect most of that time to be spent receiving the massage.

Afterwards, I checked their website and did find that they mention the time includes preparation and setup—but this information isn’t clearly presented and you really have to go looking for it. It’s not obvious at the point of booking, which adds to the frustration.

This was especially disappointing as it was a gift from my husband—his second time treating me to a spa experience. The first visit, around three years ago, was fantastic, which made this one even more underwhelming by comparison.

I’ve only used a small portion of my voucher so far, but the experience has left me feeling so dissatisfied that I would honestly prefer a refund. As it stands, the value simply doesn’t match the expectation, and I don’t feel it’s worth it.

Overall, a very disappointing experience that didn’t live up to what was advertised.

The Bannatyne staff in the Fife branch…

The Bannatyne staff in the Fife branch are exceptional with their friendly customer service, consistently going out there way to help and make your experience a memorable one. the Instructors are excellent always encouraging and pushing you to give your best and go that one step further so you feel like you have a real sense of achievement. All staff are very friendly and professional in their approach. A great place to work out!

The girls on reception are always very…

The girls on reception are always very helpful & all greet me by my name Tom who runs the Mobility, Flexibility & Rehabilitation classes is always very approachable & pleasant. As well as being very helpful for my aching limbs, Tom makes the class very enjoyable.

A gym made great by the staff

A gym made great by the staff. Been a member of this gym community for years and think it offers incredible value for money especially for those who can use the facilities every day. My main observations are that the cleaning staff keep the place immaculate with their never ending cleaning regime and the Cafe area is nice space to relax in and is ran in a very efficiently and friendly manner.

I joined in 2013

I joined in 2013 and have looked upon Bannatyne's as an important part in my routine. The gym is well equipped.
The classes are excellent and well attended.
Always good to wind down in the jacussi, steam room and pool afterwards.
Nice to have a pint of water afterwards in the cafe. Friendly staff throughout.

Long time member

I have been a member at Dunfermline for over 15 years
The reception staff are very friendly and helpful
Cafeteria again is good the staff good aswell
The new equipment in gym is very good and long overdue
Changing area for men is tired needs upgrading
Pool area is again good but major issue if you go first thing in the morning is the so called hot tub is cold as they clean it two or three times a week which is unfair on the members who pay premium prices and don’t get use of hot tub in the morning should be varied times for cleaning over the day
Overall a fair price for facilities with exception of hot tub if you go regularly

Mediocre Facilty

The gym does not have enough sets of weights or weight training equipment to accommodate the number of people using the gym. A lot of the equipment is old and needing replaced.
The recent Choose To Lose sessions were oversubscribed and a lot of people who went to the classes, me included, never received the promised fitness monitors.
For the money I am paying to be a member, I would expect better.

Generally good equipment and the pool and steam room are good however let down by sauna which doesn't seem hot enough and particularly the shower facilities which are badly in need of renovation/refurbishment.

I have been a member of Bannantynes…Pepi52

I have been a member of Bannantynes Dunfermline since it opened roughly 25 years ago then it was state of the art but sadly it has went downhill since partly due to Covid . Yes in the past year they have replaced most of the equipment in the gym and started more classes . However the male change room could really do with up grading .The poolside is not really that bad however the jacuzzi is cold on at least two days of the week if you go first thing in the morning due to cleaning this happens mostly in the mornings than at night for some reason .There are rules at the club like no swearing , shower between using pool , sauna , steamroom etc but the amount of members that just ignore them is shocking . On a plus point the staff from the manager down are really friendly and helpful also it us still value for your money if you use it three or four times a week
