I want to express my appreciation to Martin and colleague at The Bike Shed, Crediton, when they came to my assistance on Friday, Dec 19th.
My tyres were under-inflated for the ride on the A377 to Eggesford and back that I was embarking upon, and Martin helpfully used his pump to make my tyres rock hard, and to save my 26-mile timed training
ride which was successfully completed in ideal Christmas-time conditions. As it was my biggest ride
since recovering from a major cancer operation in December 2024, it was a significant occasion for me.
I had used my hand-pump when setting out, but it had proved ineffective on this occasion, unfortunately.

The Bike Shed, Crediton, in August 2017, and I've been highly satisfied with it.
As I don't want to be caught out like this again,
I will be buying a new floor cycle pump from this branch very shortly!

Very happy with the service, delivery and communication. Called a coupe for times and was easy to get a real person to talk to on both occasions and both times very pleasant and helpful.
Only one thing to mention, I purchased peddles as it was not mentioned online that peddles were included and received two pairs of peddles. I should have clarified! But website says no peddles unless stated they are included!

Fab service in the Exeter shop today! Friend needed a secure lock for mobility scooter- person serving us went above and beyond to ensure friend could work lock with their arthritic hands before we purchased it! Excellent service! Thank you ! Made our day!

We bought a Whyte Elyte Evo RS from here and they went above and beyond for us delivering to our holiday destination setup tubeless with friendly updates throughout. The bike was a fantastic price and after straightening the bars, attaching the front wheel and adding pedals we were good to go. Even the delivery driver was ace helping us inside with the bike. Thanks to Seth and everyone else who sorted this for us.

First time using the bike shed and can't fault them at all, there was an issue which they sorted out immediately, the communication was excellent and I thoroughly recommend them.

I ordered my Cube bike through the Cycle to Work scheme and dealt with Josh at the Bike Shed in Exeter. He was efficient, professional, and gave me genuinely helpful advice throughout the process.

Before picking up the bike on Saturday (after a 1.5-hour drive), I called ahead to confirm everything was ready. Dominic answered and was incredibly helpful when I arrived. It turns out Cube bike sizing can vary quite a bit between models and years—although I’d tested a friend’s medium, this particular medium was too small for me. Dominic quickly checked stock, phoned the other store, and arranged the next size up with friendly, supportive efficiency.

I then headed to the OuttaTown Bike Shed shop to collect the bike. Matt took the time to set up the app with me and explain the bike’s features—no rushing, and he made sure I had no unanswered questions.

Overall, I’m super impressed with the Bike Shed shops in Exeter. The staff are friendly, professional, and they offer a great range of bikes. They’re also happy to work with Cycle to Work schemes like Halfords, which many shops understandably avoid due to the outrageous 15% cut Halfords takes from independent retailers. I really appreciate that Bike Shed still supports customers using that scheme.

Bought a Specialized ebike through cycle to work. Even though I'm based in Durham I couldn't find another seller closer with the bike I wanted at a good price. Bike Shed had the best price I could find and the process of ordering was very easy. Delivery was fine and they seem to use a decent courier. Communication was good when I needed to contact them either by the live chat (questions about cycle to work), email (questions about returning some accessories), or phone (query about the delivery). No issues replacing items that were the wrong fit either. Would recommend.

Bought a Canondale Synapse 2 was worried about the very competitive price being too good to be true and relied on these reviews, so thought it was important to do the same. Bike arrived quickly well packaged. Setup well and i have done a couple of 100 miles on it all be it mostly on the indoor trainer its been a bit windy. I made a mistake on selecting the wrong delivery type and was over charged, one quick call to the responsive customer services team and it was refunded in minutes. Very impressed. Thank you Bike Shed.
