Absolutely dreadful been with them for over 30 years apparently I cancelled my broadband contract early even though I have had by broadband since dial up days and been charged over £300 for cancellation.

BT Sport abuse monopoly position ...

BT cut my BT sport package without any warnings on Champions League day.
Most companies asked me to update my card details as they could see there was a problem. (card was stolen) Not BT, they simply cut you off. Even though my cards details were updated, they still kept me off. Of course it takes ages to get thru, they cant find your account, then more ages to reach the right department. Clear abuse of a monopoly situation..

Let down by BT for the 7th time in 3 Months

My broadband should have been installed on the 17fh December 2021 and now on the 16fh March I have been let down again for the 7th time. Not only that but BT have turned off my mini hub that was sent as a compromise for letting me down time after time. I now find myself with no broadband at all a new installation date of maybe next month and all I get from customer services is ‘think of the compensation’ I am not bothered about compensation I just want my broadband and am sick of wasting my time ringing up because I have been let down. Moving into our first house was supposed to be a happy time but the whole experience has been ruined by BT. This is without doubt the worst customer experience I have ever encountered.

Rip off merchants

Been with BT for years. They happily take our money every month for their services. They are probably the most expensive providers for supposed superfast broadband and telephone services.
Their customer service and Open Reach is however beyond a joke.
We moved house a month ago. We had already booked a "home move" service with them before we moved.
When the Open Reach engineer arrived he refused to move the phone line from inside a cupboard in the hall to our preferred point in the living room. This is highlighted in the email from BT as part of the service. It would have taken him less than half an hour.
I called BT. They refused to acknowledge there was a problem and turned off the mini hub they had provided.
On calling them later they agreed to turn it back on but it would take 3 weeks before an engineer would be able to do the job.
3 weeks pass and numerous emails/texts telling me to be on for the engineer between 8am - 1pm. Just before 1pm I get a call from the engineer saying he can't make it.
I asked BT to terminate the contract they keep breaking so I can find a service provider who will actually do what we pay for. The jokers wanted £750 to terminate.
Word of advice for anyone thinking of switching to BT - DON'T!!!
Complete joke of a company and an expensive one to deal with.
Would have left 0 stars but unfortunately it's not an option.

Good service

I arranged for BT broadband at my mother's home. She does not use broadband but this is useful for us when we visit. It was quick to set-up, is a reasonable price and has been reliable since installed (5 months ago). all good so far.

This has been so far the worst…

This has been so far the worst experience of my life in terms of broadband and TV box provider. Luckily enough everything started within the 14 days free cancelation period as I would be very disappointed to have to live a pound for canceling this awful service starting from delay in delivery, customer service that does not know what they are doing, and finally being promised a package to sign in and then realize that is not what you have been given when talking to customer care the answer was you would have to pay extra. It is being a nightmare. I would suggest considering getting into these people's hands. I do not want to talk about other brands but they should leave this business to people who know what they are doing and care about customer experience.

Difficult to be succinct with this…

Difficult to be succinct with this review so my apologies, but here goes.
Recently switched our business broadband service to BT. Went with the Halo for business package with digital calls as it was the most reasonably priced and we were informed by BT that all landlines would be digital by 2025 anyway, so best to make the switch now ahead of time. Thankfully the broadband is backed up by the 4G network as a month down the line we still have not had the digital line installed despite three engineer visits.
I am astounded at the lack of awareness by the engineers as to what they are supposed to be doing, and by the lack of knowledge from the call centre technical support department. I assumed BT/Openreach had everything in hand and would show up to do the necessary work to get everything up and running. I don't understand this technology, I assumed they did.
However when the Openreach engineers do visit, they invariably ask me what they are supposed to be doing! I then have to confess that I don't fully understand myself, but expected that between BT and Openreach, they would know exactly what they are meant to do, which is install a digital line.
The engineers seem to be as confused as me and have so far left without any work being completed. One stayed for 2 hours but when he left, we couldn't actually see that any work had been done and we then received another call informing us that another engineer visit will need to be booked.
I get the strong impression that Openreach are not up to speed with the digital switchover and that the engineers who have so far visited are not at all confident in the work they are supposed to be doing. However, rather than ring their management, they seem to look to me to tell them what I expect to be done.
We have even received an email informing us that we will be charged an additional £130 for a missed visit when in fact the engineer left because he didn't seem confident in what he was doing and couldn't promise that we would have a working landline if he installed the digital line alongside our existing landline.
Making enquires over the phone with BT was also an experience that has eroded any confidence in their knowledge of their own technology.
I called to ask if it would be possible to use our existing landline phone by plugging it into the back of the smart hub 2 router as there was a green phone socket marked "phone". Thinking this would be the obvious thing to do when the line goes digital. The lady I spoke to at BT insisted that there was no green socket marked phone on the router and said I was probably confusing it with one of the yellow DSL ports. She seemed to think I was incredibly stupid. I had to offer to take a photo of said phone socket and email it to her. At that point the line went dead. I assume the phone was put down on me, though it could be coincidence. As it stands we are scheduled for a fourth engineer visit in about 2 weeks time. At this point I will be surprised if someone shows up who is able to complete the job and leave us with both working broadband and a working landline. In conclusion, they seem to be very confused, and in turn, I am now very confused.

BT blackmail Tactics!

System said my services would be restricted from the 6th if i didnt pay on time but my services were cut off on the 27th of the previous month as a kind of blackmail tactic to try and get an early payment.Sorry BT thats not going to work on me shame on you for being an unethical immoral company , I have just cancelled my direct debit in protest and started looking for another service provider you crooks!

Loyalty is penalized

Come renewal time your price will be sky high and they will make no attempt to get it down to a reasonable market going rate. Customer service is a joke and they will be happy to let you go which is great if you have competition in the area as you will save a ton of money.

Terrible! I've been with BT for 21 months now…

I've been with BT for 21 months now (forced due to them owning the FTTP or something on this new property). For those 21 months, we've had terrible wifi connections and speeds even though it was the 150MB deal and the devices would keep disconnecting continuously. Today I spoke to Elle from customer service who has not able to offer anything remotely competitive to competitors including their own new customer offers. She also was not honest about prices when asked and gave old prices as supposed to current deals and was not honest about what day I could cancel my contract whilst providing 30 days notice and not incurring any fees.

Overall terrible experience and would not recommend to anyone.

Even 1 star is unfair to the star itself!

If I could give it less I would. Paid extra for faster fibre and it's slower than it was before. The engineering was telling me I was imagining things.

I cannot be bothered to explain it all…

I cannot be bothered to explain it all again, already explained to about 8 different people at there call center, absolute disgrace of a service.
they read from a script and have no clue what there are talking about, just want to sell you more products. latest phone call was them explaining that i will not get more than 20mbps over wifi on any device in my house on my new SUPER FAST FIBRE and that to get my 150mbps i need to have everything hard wired ( what world are they living in)
never got back to me about my complaint. so frustrating to deal with you just give up or cancel contract.

Even the second engineer that visited my property said he phoned them up because his router packed up (no power to unit) and they would not help him unless he turned the router on so they can check his line hahaha.....

GO on BT, reply to this saying how sorry you are to hear this bla bla bla..... no instead check over your complaints find our accounts and sort your sh!t out, and no i dont need your bt disk at £100 to boost my wifi on your new super routers!!!!

Rubbish TV guide and remote

Purchased a BT broadband and package. All OK but the TV Programme Guide is an absolute disgrace designed by a 5 year old. For some unknown reason on each page a programme is zoomed obliterating its neighbours. I would advise someone in authority look at Virgin, Freeview ank Sky for ideas. The remote with buttons so small my medium size fingers press three buttons at once. Cheap from China where they obvisiably have small fingers

Dreadful internet access

Dreadful internet access.
Spent days on the phone requesting support. Not fit for purpose. Was better off before paying half the price.
Deeply disappointed and let down (bit like our internet connection).

IF YOU'RE THINKING OF JOINING BT THINK AGAIN!! I HAVE NOT HAD INTERNET FOR THE LAST 2 WEEKS THIS IS AWFUL? THE CUSTOMER IS WORSE THAN ANY OTHER SERVICE I'VE EVER USED. I HAVE DECIDED TO TERMINATE WITH THEM AND JOIN ANOTHER SERVICE INSTEAD BECAUSE, THIS IS APPALLING.
