Having stayed at very many self-catering cottages over the years, the Nant is simply one of the best. In a lovely isolated location with a view over the sea, it is accessed via a rough bumpy track - all of which adds to the magic! The cottage is comfortable, very well equipped and exudes a warm welcome - rather like staying with friends. The stairs to the first floor are steep - but no problem for these two late 70 year olds! The path down to the sea is lovely but can be very boggy when wet (look up the definition of Nant!). The cottage seems very well managed by Coastal Cottages of Pembrokeshire who very kindly returned one of my lost walking poles to me. It is a cottage that we will be very happy to revisit.

From the beginning, the instructions to get to the cottage were clear and we were able to get to our destination without issue. The view on arrival was stunning! The kitchen was modern and well equipped, the lounge was cozy and inviting, both bathrooms perfectly adequate, having access to a washer and a dryer was brilliant, we had no issue with the stairs, we felt like they were old ship stairs and were fine after that, the master bedroom was perfectly comfy, as were the other rooms. It was wonderful to have access to the higher bench area in the garden with such an incredible view of the coast and the sea, so perfect for sunsets! We really enjoyed our stay there and it honestly felt like home by the time we left and was a real wrench leaving it behind, but we've promised ourselves that we will be back next year!
Four of us stayed for one week and we thought the cottage was quite magical because of the location. It is very private, it has great views and there is plenty of wildlife around, including badgers in the neighbouring field, a barn owl and several birds of prey. At least two swallows flew into the house when we left the door open on warm days. The coastal path is a ten minute walk away and a great place to swim - the Blue Lagoon - about a twenty five minute walk. We didn't fancy negotiating the tight gate and narrow driveway to the cottage so we left our cars at the barn and walked down. This added to the adventure. We found six different places to sit in the garden. You have to search hard to find the two with the best views. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a good WiFi connection. The settee is probably the most uncomfortable I have ever had the misfortune to sit on. I am not sure why the owners would spoil such a cosy cottage with a piece of furniture designed to cause back injuries. Some of the garden furniture is a bit rickety too. Otherwise a lovely place to stay.
Tranquil and peaceful location with fabulous views
