While shopping at SportCheck the teller…
While shopping at SportCheck the teller offered us a Triangle Credit Card in return we would get a 15% discount. The teller was wonderful but we got declined. I have a very high credit score so I was a little confused but nonetheless didn’t care. I returned home to find a congratulatory email saying I was now approved. I called the number in the email and that’s where the problems started. It became an inquisition. I’ve bought cars with less invasive questions. I told the individual that I didn’t want to answer any more questions and he said fine then your card is canceled. I told him that would be fine by me. My recommendation to anyone is DO NOT APPLY FOR A CREDIT CARD at a till.
No warning new card in the mail lol
I've had no issues with my Canadian tire. Mastercard, until recently, when the system decided to cancel it on me. Because the thought I was having fraudulent activity. The system sent me one card that I was not able to activate. Because there was a supplementary card, I've been waiting 2 and a 1/2 weeks with no credit cards. I am incurring a tons of nsf charges. I have no availability to credit. This is such a slow process. I should have been warned that I was getting a new card that my old one was to be canceled. I was not I did not see or feel that there was any fraudulent activities happening. I'm very disappointed.Who's going to pay all these NSF fees every day I went by the mailbox and still nothing
Terrible website
Terrible website! Crashes all the time! Error message al the time!
Very bad customer service
Very bad customer service. I called to dispute a transaction on my credit card and the agent started yelling at me, without even hearing my question in full. What a shame.
I would give zero stars if possible
I would give zero stars if possible.
I applied for a Triangle Mastercard based on advice from Credit Karma that I would likely be approved.
I received no email confirmation about my application so I contacted them when I saw that they did a hard inquiry that affected my credit.
They told me my application was denied based on potential fraud and passed this along to the fraud department.
They gave me no opportunity to verify my identity.
I was told I would a receive a call back regarding this “fraud case”.
Nobody returned my call so I followed up one week later.
I have now been told that the application cannot be opened up again, and that I would have to apply again.
I was also told that they cannot tell me the reason my application was denied, and that the last lady who said it was denied for potential fraud lied to me “probably because she just wanted me go away”.
We run a small transportation company and were looking to benefit from the fuel program.
We spend thousands upon thousands of dollars at Canadian tire in a year in Products and services.
I am sad and extremely appalled by how this was handled/not handled.
I would recommend never banking with Canadian tire bank.
Canadian tire has lost hundreds of thousands of dollars because of this terrible experience.
I won’t step into a Canadian Tire Again!
Way to go!!!
Great card unless you ever have to call…
Great card unless you ever have to call them. Took 37 minutes before they answered the phone. Perhaps a few more staff would be a good thing. Customer service should be paramount.
The roadside assistance coverage
The roadside assistance coverage is excellent. I needed support at 11pm on a Saturday, i called for a tow truck, no long wait time on the call, a tow truck was out in 30mins.

only concerned with money…
In 2021 I fell behind in my Canadian Tire Mastercard because I had a stroke. They continued to harass me while I was hospitalized wondering how I could put my life back together. Later they outsourced the $2000 I owed to a collection agency who garnished my joint account.
I will never purchase anything from Canadian Tire and it angers me that they can use the name Canadian while working by values that are anything but.
Canadian Tire Bank Fails to Close My Account Properly.
Canadian Tire Bank Fails to Close My Account Properly - TERRIBLE Experience!
One star - Avoid the headache!
I closed my Canadian Tire Mastercard account THREE YEARS AGO by paying the full amount due. I specifically confirmed with the agent at the time to clear all pending payments and completely close the account. They assured me it was done.
Fast forward three years, and I'm bombarded with harassing emails from collections.ctfs.com claiming I have an overdue bill of $10.59. Apparently, there was a pending interest charge of 4 cents that somehow ballooned to over $10 in three years!
Here's the problem:
I closed the account and paid everything in full.
Never received any notifications about this "outstanding balance." They claim it was sent via paper mail, but I had moved a couple of times since then.
Canadian Tire Bank's Response:
The agent waived the balance, but claims they can't do anything about the negative mark on my credit report due to the collection attempt.
They blame me for the interest accumulating, even though I closed the account.
This is absolutely unacceptable!
Closing an account shouldn't lead to a collections nightmare three years later. Their lack of communication and inability to rectify their mistake is appalling.
Save yourself the stress and avoid Canadian Tire Bank! There are other banks that prioritize customer service and actually close accounts properly.
CSR laughed.
New card, used a couple of times, missed last payment by three days, disabled my card. Never happened with old card. Problem was the CSR basically laughed and said this is how we get you to call us. Don't find out until at the cash and card declined. With all the CTC email advertising you'd think they could sen an email. CSR could have cared less and just wanted off the call. Amateur hour.
Customer Service Is Horrendous
Canadian Tire has misplaced $1900 of mine of Sept 9th. All I get from them is excuses and rude csr’s.
They have not made one step forward in resolving the case and all I get is follow ups by “supervisors” who have not taken any effort to familiarize themselves with the issue. In turn frustrating me more and more.
Disgusting and rude customer service…
Disgusting and rude customer service unable to resolve anything!
scared of scammers
The bank can't face the scammers and return what they have taken from the tringle card by deception. It's unbelievable that this bank is not able to detain well identified scam companies by the police and anti-fraud specialists. Even with clear evidences, the bank stands against its costumers and says "sorry".
I regret being a Canadian Tire master card holder for more than 10 years.
Avoid! No customer service and bad systems
I got the Triangle World Elite card but wasn't able to activate due to their poor systems and processes. The website (both credit card activation and the CTFS site) says to call but no one picks up. I called both the activation number and customer support multiple times, and I either get dropped due to "system error" (on the activation phone line) or wait hours (literally) without a response (on the support line). This was during their active support hours. Will cancel now because it's impossible to get the card activated.
Avoid!
Canadian Tire Bank - Incorrect accounting operations performed on the credit card account
The following post shows how the Canadian Tire Bank operates and how it treats the customer.
On May 13, 2024, I received an email with an offer:
6.9% Annual Interest Rate
0.0% Processing Fee until your September 2024 statement date
I and every normal person understands that only after September 2024 will the regular annual rate apply to my credit card. But Canadian Tire Bank does not apply the above.
So I describe chronologically:
1. I wanted to add a bill payment payee - specifically my National Bank of Canada credit card.
Mastercard - National Bank
Must begin with 5258, 5569 or 5550
but: "No results found, please try another search".
I don't know why because my Echo credit card starts with: 5258
2. So on June 14, I made a balance transfer for $700 and I managed to do this:
Confirmation: 086419
Payee: NATIONAL BANK FINANCIAL INC
Amount: $700.00
Charged To: Triangle® Mastercard® ....
But this amount has not been transferred to my bank account at National Bank.
Due to this situation, I was forced to call customer service. On June 25, the agent promised that they would investigate where and to whom this amount went - because it was not on my account.
3. And at my request, she made a balance transfer: $800 directly to my NBC credit card, which is what I wanted to do at the beginning.
And how does Canadian Tire Bank react and work in the above situation?
On my invoice: statement date - June 24, 2024 I find:
2024-06-14 FBN-NBF 316 $700.00
and on the last invoice: statement date - July 24, 2024
2024-06-25 NATIONAL BANK MC $800.00
Consequently, even though no $700.00 was transferred to my bank account at National Bank, according to Canadian Tire Bank I should pay for it.
After all, it's an embarrassment to the bank.
4. Now regarding the interest charged by Canadian Tire Bank on my account:
- On my invoice: statement date - June 24, 2024 the bank did not charge any interest: interest charges - $0.00
- In turn, on the last invoice: statement date - July 24, 2024:
2024-07-24 PURCHASE *FINANCE CHARGE* 21.99% $20.98
2024-07-24 CASH * FINANCE CHARGE * - balance transfer 6.9% $4.52
total interest charges $25.50
How did the bank employees calculate it? How did the bank employees calculate it?
And they do it even though they themselves provide me with the following information on the last invoice:
special annual interest rate - 6.9%
outstanding balances at the special annual rate - $804.52
regular annual interest rate after expiry date - 21.99%
"after expiry date" - it's clear to me.
In this topic, I called the customer service on August 2, 2024. And another surprise after this conversation, from the email I received:
"Unfortunately, you do not currently qualify for a lower annual interest rate".
- The bank employees didn't know about it when they sent me the offer?
- Moreover: why do they charge me interest if I do not qualify for "a lower annual interest rate"?
After all, this is a simple lack of logic and the inability of bank employees to fulfill their statutory duties.
I asked to remove the amount of $700 from my account and to check the calculation of all amounts on my invoice related to the received offer and make a correction.
I provided all the necessary information as above so that the bank could correct its errors.
On August 10, 2024, I sent an email in the form of a complaint to the following address: customerupdate... - I have not received a response to this day.
The bank just asks me to call them. I won't call the bank again. I have already called twice about this particular matter, no results. To this day, the bank has done absolutely nothing to clarify or correct this.
Any other bank, after receiving the details I provided, would quickly make corrections, apologize for its shortcomings and mistakes and end the matter long ago.
I know several banks in Canada because I have accounts and credit cards opened there.
But no bank asks me for any telephone calls, they only contact me using the form: contact us and explain all reported matters, including disputes.
Canadian Tire Bank is probably the only bank in Canada that cannot be contacted in the usual way.
Answer from: customerupdate...
"Please do not reply to this email. This communication is notification-only and will not receive responses".
and from: customerservice....
RE: .... - "Undeliverable: The email address you entered couldn't be found".
And this bank provides customers with the superior customer service. This further lowers Canadian Tire Bank's reputation.
And I promise that I will never do any balance transfer again.
It was a very bad experience for me.

Worst credit card I have ever owned
Worst credit card I have ever owned
I started off with the regular triangle credit card
(Great card)
Was told I’m approve for a upgrade
I received this new credit card in the mail and left it as is, I use it and spend
Guess what it’s not added to my account so no monthly withdraw
So from $400 to being put on collection and paying out $1,700 today and tanking my credit score
Please understand triangle credit cards are awful,
I will continue to make sure everyone know this too,
Unlike Amex or any other card I own if I have a second card they add it to my account automatically
