I took out a loan with CubeFunder in May 2026. At the time, I took the loan in good faith and used the funds to pay a supplier for stock.

Unfortunately, my circumstances changed unexpectedly in July. I explained everything to CubeFunder and have been completely honest with them throughout. I did not make up or exaggerate my circumstances in an attempt to avoid paying the loan or reduce the interest.

The situation became much worse because the supplier never delivered the stock I paid for. It is now October, and I still have not received the stock or a single penny back from the supplier. I explained this to CubeFunder and told them that I had effectively been scammed.

I understand that my loan agreement states that I am responsible for a minimum of 12 months’ interest, and I accept that this was included in the contract I signed. However, my understanding is that the agreement also provides for circumstances to be considered, and I genuinely hoped that CubeFunder would take my situation into account.

I was not asking them to simply write off my loan or avoid my responsibilities. I was asking for some understanding and a reasonable solution given the exceptional circumstances. For example, they could have considered charging interest for the approximately five months I actually had the loan rather than charging the full 12 months.

Instead, I have had to borrow money from my own family to pay the loan off because I do not want this liability hanging over me any longer. This has put enormous financial and emotional pressure on both me and my family.

The decision not to offer any meaningful reduction in the interest has cost me around £5,000 that could have made a huge difference to my family at a very difficult time.

I appreciate that businesses have contracts and need to protect themselves. However, I believe there should also be some room for compassion and discretion when a customer is facing a genuine and unexpected situation and has been completely transparent about what has happened.

Unfortunately, I did not feel supported by CubeFunder when I needed help most. I felt that recovering the money was more important than understanding the circumstances of the customer.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend CubeFunder to anyone who may need flexibility if their circumstances unexpectedly change.

I sincerely hope CubeFunder reviews how it handles genuine hardship cases in the future. A little understanding and flexibility could have made a huge difference to me and my family.
