Stay well away from buying a car. I got ripped of and had to buy a new engine and many parts that was wrong. They bodge the car to run just after the 31 day warranty the car will fail. I had to get a horrible time. Only wish I read the reveiws before I bought my hyundai i800. Stay away people. A horrible car sales company. Should be closed down

Sold a car at almost double their normal price thinking it was worth the extra investment...none of it's previous MOT fails had been corrected, exhaust rusted out within 2 weeks. Headlights aiming the sky like a batsignal, sill needed welding in 3/4 of it, front shocks blown, sunroof was leaking like mad, refused to hear anything when contacted before, dishonest place that sell lemons they buy for £4-500 and sell on for £2500 and upwards. Wouldn't touch this place with a 10 foot pole even 7 years later. Never forget

Purchased early October refunded 30/12/25
Ford Mondeo purchased on the Thursday and noticed there was a low tyre warning so checked with owners handbook only to find the wrong tyres were fitted so phoned and they said to bring it in for replacement, I also noticed that the car would not start every morning and took several turns to get it to start so informed them they said they would fix it I took it in and waited 3 weeks to get it back, the problem still remained so sent it back weeks went past and after many, many annoyed calls they said it couldn't be fixed and offered a refund which they did give but days after the 14 days refund policy. DONT Buy from them the customer service is appalling.

I put down a £300 deposit on a car that they advised was a "super example of the model" only when I went to pick up some serious issues were immediately evident!!!

STILL TO DATE HAD NOT MY DEPOSIT BACK - REFUSED MY DEPOSIT BACK !!!!

I bought a car from them in Nov 2023, the car has 4 write offs and a gear box fault within 7months of purchase. The company is the most horrible I have ever seen with no after sales care. This company should never be in existence. They have recently changed their name to Assured Cars. The company is a pure scam

A used car dealer has been hit with a trading standards enforcement order, following a string of complaints by customers. Cumbernauld Car Sales Ltd, and its director Jakub Niemczyk, were slapped with the order at Airdrie Sheriff Court after buyers accused the outfit of dodgy dealing. Among the allegations were that the North Lanarkshire-based retailer sold unroadworthy vehicles and made misleading statements about the cars it had for sale. The court also heard that the firm refused to ‘provide consumers with their statutory right’ by failing to fix faults that were identified with cars they sold. Both the company and Niemczyk were handed an interim enforcement order back in October but the measure has now been made permanent, following a court hearing last month. The order, granted following an application by North Lanarkshire Council, means that several measures will be placed on the car dealer and its staff. Firstly, they must provide consumers with written notice of their right to cancel any contract at the time it is made, where applicable.

They must also ensure that all vehicles sold are not dangerous and take reasonable skill and care when preparing second-hand vehicles for sale. They must also be absolutely sure not to provide false information to consumers or create the impression that a motor vehicle can legally be sold when it cannot. Failure to comply with the terms of the order could see the firm hauled back up before the courts, facing more serious charges. Michelle McKenna, trading standards manager at North Lanarkshire Council, said: ‘We work with businesses to ensure compliance and improve trading practices. However, we will not hesitate to take firm action against businesses that persistently and unlawfully treat consumers badly. ‘This enforcement action underscores our commitment to ensuring consumer rights are protected and that businesses operate within the bounds of the law.’

Horrendous people to deal with!!! The car I purchased from them in August 2024 is plagued with problems! £5000 car and I’ve spent another £1000 for repairs on top, in the 4 weeks that I’ve owned it! Still don’t even have a V5 through!!
Communication with them has been awful, no response to emails and when I contacted via WhatsApp, which I understood to be jakobs preferred way to communicate, I was told to ‘stop these nuisance messages’!!
The best advice I could give is to stay away from Cumbernauld Scammers. At the very least Google them and check companies house!!!

We got a car In April 2022 and it's taken us this long to take them to court etc. We won the case and he's still refusing to pay up and thats us sending Sherrif in to. He does what he wants because he gets away with it. Trading standards are involved but he'll just sset up in another name. Sold us a Car that was previously written off in an accident and failed to notify us. Car had other faults that happened within the 1st month. Car also had a safety recall on it so shouldnt have been sold till it was looked at. ALL the positive reviews on here is him so ignore them. He sells cars that shouldn't be on the road and sold a stolen car. Once he's got your money he doesn't care😡

Bought a car from the garage and after less than 1000 miles, so within warranty engine management lights come on. The garage were very unhelpful and told me the car was out of warranty. They eventually said they would cover labour cost but I had to cover parts cost. I would not recommend. I have since seen in local press that they have been slammed by trading standards and hit with a court order for selling unroadworthy cars.

Where do I start, bought the car from Paul (cash 5k what he asked for) should have smelt a rat then.

Picked the cat up and they supplied a key that was falling apart.

Took the car got 5 mile down the road the car engine started rattling, they agreed to take it back and fix the problem, which I recently found out was a patch up and cheap repair.

After only driving around 15 mile after the repair in this 5k cash sale car we suddenly had white smoke coming from below the bonnet which turns out to be a burst radiator.

Tried to contact Jack from the services department which you can only contact via whattsapp with no response.

When you try to contact Paul he just says its not his problem he is sales only!!

We are still waiting on a response 5 days later and have took legal advice on this.

Both Paul and Jack are crooks and nobody should ever buy from them.

I will update if I get a response as we have sent emails to Paul and whattsapp to Jack

I bought a Hyundai kona & the very next day the car wouldn’t start. The mechanic suggested a QR code (which I cannot find & don’t do well with technology) to report any issues. His tone made me realise they are very much used to complaints and my heart sank. It looks like an affordable garage but I genuinely believe they are all Danny Davito’s and after reading all of the other negative reviews I cannot believe this mob is still functioning, it’s only a matter of time before they come across the ‘wrong’ customer and I will be delighted to see this place closed down.

They sell insurance write-offs, often hastily fixed up and entirely unreliable. When there are inevitably issues, they are slow to respond. The company reeks of dirty business. The salespeople (I dealt with one called Paul) are classical car salesmen; not genuine, underhanded and do not care for their customers. Avoid like the plague.

P.S. This isn't a quick, annoyed review. I never write reviews on products or companies, even the bad ones. This one I felt was worthy of a warning. Proceed with caution.

Bought a car 3 months ago and it's spent now 4 weeks and counting in a garage with still no idea what's wrong with it 😡 initially thought it was the keys as when we bought the car we had to wait 2 weeks as the person before had water damage to them. But after changing batteries etc the car completely stopped working. Called cumbernauld car sales garage when car broke a million times to no answer so sent emails like the voicemail advises. Still 4 weeks later and no reply. I am furious at this situation and feel we have been completely ripped off. I can see us having to scrap the car if they cannot establish what is wrong with it. Car cost us £4,500 and it's going to cost us well over £1000 2 months later to have it fixed.

In extension to my reply: I did use the QR code for this. I still have pictures of the car sale from your website proving I bought the car from yourselves and that yous were the ones who sold it to us. It's a Chevrolet Captiva bought by my husband James. We called and emailed which I also have proof of and still no reply. Saying its wrong garage is false as this is definitely car garage we bought from. Also think it's funny I recieve same day reply to this but no reply after 4 weeks via email, voicemail or calls.

Again I have proof that this was done with no reply. I am more than happy to discuss this further. Car reg is MF63 CCK you will have my contact details on file from the purchase. Like I said I have all documentation that I can show that I purchased from yourselves. Unfortunately Trustpilot doesn't give me the option to upload this. If you know how I can do this I will upload it.

Avoid this place like the plague! They will rip you off. About 99% of their cars are Category S and they have recieved such terrible reviews over the years that they've completely dropped from social medias and resort to deleting real, honest, critical reviews. Posting fake reviews with fake accounts. Check Facebook for the many lawsuits and problems they've had over the years, selling faulty cars.
When I visited Liam and Carol were very kind and hospitable. I made the uneducated and inexperienced decision to put a deposit on a Category S vehicle, something I was assured wasn't a problem.
Though I hold myself responsible for making the decision and honestly felt no pressure to buy the car, their behaviour afterwards was very unprofessional and rude. I decided to cancel my purchase when I read some reviews online and was shocked to be doing business with them.
I was told that although my £300 deposit was non refundable (due to the costs of MOT etc), it could be transfered to a new vehicle... no thanks. After much negotiation, we managed to get a full refund, so 2 stars, but Liam was very rude and spiteful just for a guy that sells the cars. I'd rate 2 stars cause Carol was nice but I dont want anyone to buy a broken car and lose all their hard earned money.

Great service from Cumbernauld Car Sales. Delighted with the car at a very fair price. We travelled a distance to collect the car so trust and honesty was paramount as we reserved the car unseen. Any questions we asked were answered in detail and all was as expected when we collected the car. I would highly recommend!

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! I can only describe Liam as a rogue/cowboy tradesperson. Put a deposit on a car however they sold the car off to someone else and wanted to force me to buy another, even after telling me I would get my money back. Only got my money back after 8 months of stress and taking them to small claims court. ** Make sure you get everything in official communication - Email or printed. Record all communication if on the phone. Report to trading standards Scotland if you have a dispute when them as they are already aware of this business and there is an ongoing case.

This company is by far the worst going, the man jak is just a bully boy who jets off on holiday every other week on everyone’s hard earned money after he’s scammed them out of buying a dodgy car. This company was previously shut down in 2018 after trading under a different name and there’s another case this year to get them shut down AGAIN. The 5 star reviews are fake all done by them and their friends. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE AS SLIM CHANCE YOU WILL SEE IT AGAIN. What I really wanna say wouldn’t be allowed on here but starts with C ends in TS
