Trying to be as polite but honest as possible, we strongly recommend AVOIDING DD Roofing at all costs. We were sadly fooled by the positive reviews online, making us question their legitimacy. DD Roofing charged us thousands to fix our flat roof to prevent leaking rain water, only to find that they completely failed at their task. To be safe, we asked over FOUR separate roofers to come by to assess the work and give us their opinions. They were absolutely shocked at how poor the quality of DD Roofing's work was. Here were some of the comments that we received from the other roofers:

"Whoever did this did a horrible job."
"Was it DD Roofing? This looks like their usual terrible work."
"This looks awful."
"I've made a lot of money over the years fixing DD Roofing's mistakes."
"Please leave them appropriate reviews online, otherwise people will keep hiring them."
"DD Roofing makes so much money doing shoddy work."

I asked over one of the owners of DD Roofing to address the problem. He said that they stood by their work and refused to rectify the situation. My wife and I then had to pay out several thousand pounds more to have the roof redone. We don't want others to have to do the same.

I do not recommend this company at all- they have closed down this business now but opened another in a similar name. Caused more damage than good. I had to employ someone to completely fix the work he had done and I am considerably out of pocket. Do not use this company.

Daniel Dawson ( DD Roofing ) now Dawsons Building and Roofing ltd.
Should be avoided at all costs. Dan and his team did an awful job left us with half a roof and a appalling other half of a roof. A job that should have taken 3/4 days lasted for 3 months and is incomplete .They have no clue what they are doing . He took our hard earned money and has not made any attempt to give it back. How does Dan sleep at night leaving people in this situation. Avoid Daniel Dawson .

Absolutely awful. Daniel Dawson is an abhorrent human being. He has left us with half a roof, the other half being totally substandard and worse than what he replaced. He and his team have no idea how to roof, and have damaged our home in the process. They never turn up and when they do they wreak devastation on your home.

To sum it up: they haven't installed the membrane properly, they have used the wrong size nails on the batons, they haven't graded the slate and therefore they don't sit properly on the roof, the lead valley is too narrow, the slate has been cut appallingly, they have used the wrong pitch tiles on our rear roof and didn't nail or clip any of them down, they have used OSB for timberwork which has now swelled, they cut the main ridge when removing our chimney so that is not supported, they didn't install all the insulation they were supposed to, they damaged our polycarbonate roof because they didn't protect it and they damaged our tiled roof because they dropped something on it. And they came through our bathroom ceiling but apparently that was our fault because our plaster was substandard???

They promise a 20 year guarantee but I have since learnt that this is worthless if it is not insurance backed.

This business is being wound up because he owes money all over the place, including £16500 to us. He has just started up a new company called Dawson's Building and Roofing Contractors Ltd. If you value your home, your savings and your sanity, avoid at all costs. He is a compulsive liar, has no scruples and will screw you over.

Daniel Luke Dawson (DDroofing ltd, Dawson's Building and Roofing contractors ltd) should be avoided. Breach of contract, poor workmanship. Replaced my roof and left my (mid terrace) house in a terrible state. Multiple leaks, water running down the wall in places. Will have to redo at considerable expense and inconvenience. Numerous professionals say the cement render mix is wrong. Big cracks and chunks dropping off the wall. No regard for consumer rights or the damage he causes. DDroofing shows as in liquidation, but it's ok, he's already registered another company to carrying on ripping more people off (Sept '25). Sneaky liar. Absolutely do not trust this man.

I highly recommend the team at DDRoofing, they have surpassed what they were contracted to do.

Apart from fixing our slate roof and guttering at the front of our home, they also inspected the whole roof and patched up 2 areas at no extra cost.

Daniel in particular ensured the whole project was completed in time and his team ensured all if the garden was restored back to how it was. A great local roofing company who care.
