Deep Blue Fish and Chips Opiniões 

We have bought fish and chips from Deep Blue in Wetwang on a number of occasions. However, the last few times we have been disappointed with their food. Every restaurant has a bad day or two, but the last 3 times the food seems to have gotten worse.

Bought some today 18.01.2026, and the food was diabolical and tasteless. They totally got our order wrong, ordered Haddock, but received Cod, yuck🤢. The chips was also hard and tasted like warm-ups.
Safe to say we are never going back here, and we would never recommend this fish and chip shop.

Wow gone are the days of a cheap Friday meal, £16.50 for fish and chips regular size. Fish on its own is £13.30 chips (regular) £4.50, large battered sausage £3 50, spam fritter £3.60 pot of curry/mushy peas £2.80, can of pop £1.95

Went to the Westbury restuarant today and the meal was disgusting. The batter was horrible and fish not fresh. I ordered mayo and ketchup and was asked for £3 for 2 small platic pots. My husband described his kebab as slimy. Such a shame as I visited last year and had amazing fish and chips. Seems since ownership change it is now 1 star.

I order a large fish. I have days of low carbs because I'm prediabetic. Anyway. I was really looking forward to my fish, only to get home and find two very small pieces of fish. They honestly looked like big 'fancy' fish fingers. I was really disappointed. I've have a big fish from here before (we live locally) and it was better but I think I'll be trying the other fish shop next time.

Just a note for anyone looking for halal-friendly food – the fish and chips are cooked in the same oil as pork products. Unfortunately, we only found out after sitting down, so we had to leave, which was a real disappointment. Would be really helpful if this was made clearer for customers in advance.

Fish and chips were very poor and overpriced, i will never use again. Used to be cracking something gone wrong here, and i see others think the same.
Staff seemed more interested in chatting .

The person at the till doesn’t wear gloves to handle the fish grabs the fish then goes to the till and handles the money then goes back to handle the fish - this place should be scrutinised for higiene misconduct

Called at Deep Blue Wetwang today and they were the worst chips myself and my husband have ever tasted from what used to be a decent fish and chip shop.
Chips were just about warm and looked burnt and unappetising. They did not taste any better than they looked absolutely disgusting won’t be going back ever!
Don’t know how they felt it acceptable to actually sell them, most went in the bin.

Along with the good meal here today 14/6/25 we would like to thank member of staff who helped our son after fainting. He remained calm, dealt with the situation and just overall very helpful. Thank you.

Never have a problem from this chip shop. Ashley the server is lovely and chatty.
Manger is very helpful too.

The Lymington shop was very good, until the use young staff to cook.
How could they get it so wrong, fisk tiny in size, for a regular. Batter hard brown, horrible taste.
Medioge chip, waste of money.
Didn't even mention special offer

Had eaten in here last year and it was brilliant - today though - it was disgusting the fish tasted off I had 2 bites and put the rest in bin and 3/4 of the chips were horrible and looked like reheats - it's gone from 10/10 to 0/10 - maybe i caught them on a bad day but sorry I wont be back - shame as staff were really nice.

Working up in Newmarket today and had to Google to find somewhere instead of Greggs or sandwiches. Ordered from the Newmarket one, online. The whole process was a nightmare setting up an account but it was worth it. Friendly staff, nice and clean inside and everything was freshly cooked. Absolutely delicious. Cheers lads, Gary

Deep Blue Yately, I went onto Deep Blue App, logged on and by mistake I pressed Yately branch. 5 minutes later I realised I pressed the wrong branch. So I called and apologised for my error, but was told they have started to prepare order and cannot refund....It's fish and chips what you dont think you would sell 1 portion of chips, 1 fish, 1 jumbo sausage. Absolutely disgusting and hope they go out of business...Will get in touch with Head Office if they give a damn.

This used to be the best fish and chips for miles, generous portions, beautifully cooked. Often could not even get near the door for queues, then they changed hands and the standard dropped through the floor. Then hearing a rumour that the original staff had returned I eagerly ordered a home delivery of one LARGE cod and one REGULAR cod with chips. When they arrived I could not tell the difference between the large and regular cods, other than a big difference in price! I phoned the fish shop to be told, very rudely "Nothing to do with us, take it up with deliveroo" and hung up on me. annoyed I got out my Wife's kitchen scales and weighed them. There was 3.3 grams difference between them. bill for above was around £33 and the cooking was at best average.

Deep blue was an excellent chippy until it changed hands with sea. I was a very loyal Customer with deep blue in Eastney Road. Now as it has changed to sea. I got a pot of curry and gave me the wrong lid. I wish that Deep blue could reconsider being Deep Blue as the staff were very friendly and help ful.

Visited for first time in a long while. Clean store relatively friendly reception by staff.
Can order on a screen which is next to the till/staff to get a 10% discount!
Prices are shocking if honest. Nearly £2 for mushy peas, better off buying a few tins and warming up yourself.
Fish was small in very light batter - was very tasty if honest. The chips were another story - never again, tasted like they had either been reheated or had been sat for hours. More or less cold 4 minutes after left the store and near inedible. Sadly won't be returning again soon.

Thank you so much for seating me today, even though you were technically closed as a restaurant! Service and attitude both absolutely faultless. Portion size brilliant for the money, double espresso excellent.

Awful!
We went to the newmarket restaurant today. We were the first there, but the restaurant floor and many of the tables were dirty, clearly not having been cleaned from the previous day.
We sat at what appeared to be a clean table and a waitress took our order.
Drinks and cutlery were brought to our table, but the cutlery was dirty, so I asked for fresh.
Food was delivered to the table. On my piece of fish was a mouldy wedge of lemon, and my partners curry sauce was cold.
We told the waitress, who responded with an apology, and the excuse that the people who set up clearly had it in for them. By way of resolution, we were provided with a complimentary tea and can of drink.

Went in for 1 large F&C and a small F&C , 2 peas and one Sausage was relived of nearly £28 upon getting home missing one peas and the Fish was the worst I have ever had from a Fish shop over cooked , burnt and dry in dirty thin batter was more like eating Fish Crackling .Reported to DB website my complaint only got the standard we will respond in 72 hours that was nearly 2 weeks ago and even sent another message to raise my dissatisfaction and that I was giving them the opportunity to respond before I would revert to Trustpilot and SM to raise the issues .
Now they have no competition in MW they are worse than ever , won’t be using again will travel to get a decent one of each , typical large company approach to issues ignore them
