Dean Barber arrived earlier than expected and went beyond expectations in service. They provided clear explanation of the issues and provided advice and recommendations going forward. They wasted no time in resolving the problem, fantastic work with no mess made. Highly recommended service and very much appreciated.

Extremely Poor Service – British Gas Landlord Insurance

I have landlord insurance with British Gas, which is supposed to provide protection and assistance when something goes wrong with a property. Unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing, particularly in relation to a boiler breakdown at my property.

My tenant reported an issue with the boiler, leaving the family without heating and hot water. British Gas arranged for Dyno-Rod to attend because the repair apparently involved plumbing work.

The first appointment was given as a huge window of 8:00am to 6:00pm. We waited all day, only to receive a call at around 5:00pm saying, “Sorry, we cannot attend.” No meaningful explanation and, more importantly, no urgent alternative was provided. The next appointment was scheduled a week later.

When the plumber eventually attended, he said that he was not qualified to carry out the required work and that a G3-qualified plumber was needed. He said he would put the required work in his report. Again, we had to wait for another appointment.

At the next stage, we were told that a part needed to be ordered. Two weeks later, the part still had not arrived. Another appointment was then arranged a further two weeks later.

So, throughout this process, a family has been left without proper heating and hot water, while Dyno rob and its contractors continue to move the problem from one appointment to another.

What makes the situation even worse is the customer service. When contacting Dyno rob, I have found the staff to be extremely rude, unhelpful and unwilling to take responsibility. I specifically spoke to a female member of staff called Vin, and the way the matter was handled was completely unacceptable.

Even when an appointment is eventually arranged, Dyno rob has been unwilling to provide any form of written confirmation for the appointment they gave, despite repeated requests. This is particularly frustrating when appointments are being arranged weeks apart and the tenant needs certainty about when someone will actually attend.

I took out landlord insurance precisely so that, when a serious problem occurs, the tenant is protected and the property can be repaired promptly. Instead, I have experienced:

* Missed appointments after waiting all day.
* Appointments being delayed by a week or more.
* Contractors attending without the necessary qualifications to complete the work.
* Parts taking weeks to arrive.
* Further appointments being scheduled weeks later.
* A family being left without heating and hot water.
* Extremely poor communication.
* Customer service that is rude and unhelpful.
* Refusal to provide basic written appointment confirmation.

This is not what I expect from a company providing landlord insurance.

The whole purpose of having insurance is to have a reliable service when something goes wrong. In this case, the service has created additional stress and prolonged a situation that should have been dealt with urgently.

I would strongly question the value of British Gas, and their contractors Dyno rob landlord insurance if this is how claims and emergency repairs are handled. I expect British Gas to investigate this matter properly, review the handling of the claim and explain why a vulnerable situation involving a family without heating and hot water has been allowed to continue for so long.

Very poor service and a very disappointing experience.

Dyno rob are a time waster, unprofessional and a nightmare.

Dyno-Rod attended my property specifically to investigate a leak and provide a diagnostic report.

Unfortunately, the report I received was extremely poor, vague and ambiguous. It provided no clear diagnosis or meaningful conclusion and was of absolutely no practical use.

Even my letting agent could not understand what the report was actually saying or what action needed to be taken based on it.

I contacted Dyno-Rod about the poor quality of the report and was told that a new, clearer report would be reissued. Despite this assurance, the replacement report never arrived.

A complete waste of money and time. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Dyno-Rod. Save yourself the frustration and stay well clear.

If I could give it zero stars I would. British Gas outsource their plumbing to Dyno yet after two call-outs puts the problem hasn’t been fixed. The response from the engineer was, “What do you want me to do about it?” The simple answer would be to do your job. I have two disabled people who need access to water and you have failed them.

Excellent service by Harry from DYNO. He installed our new toilet to a very high standard. Harry was humble, professional, and cleaned up as he went, leaving everything spotless. Highly recommend DYNO. Fantastic service.

Dean came to investigate a fig tree root which we feared was blocking our drains. He was very good humoured - despite the very high temperature - and quickly investigated and reassured us, after a camera investigation, that we had nothing to worry about. We would certainly highly recommend Dean.

Dean did an amazing job trying to sort out our blocked drains after the recent storm. He was personable, explained what was happening and did absolutely everything to try and rectify the problem - I’d recommend him in the future without reservation!

I had a fantastic gentleman called Dean who came out and did a brilliant job in Hackney E5
Unfortunately for me I had a huge issue where the drain is damaged in various places and he took the time to clear it …. Even booked me out a machine to clear the stones :))
Once cleared he really diligently used cctv equipment to find the faults. I’m going through a really difficult patch at the moment and so appreciated them making my life easier:)

Dean analysed the problem with our drain blockage straight away and unblocked the drain very efficiently. Also he is very courteous and personable, and I will ask for him by name if I have this sort of problem again.

You can tell he has the experience and and expertise to fix your drainage issues and he has put my mind at rest with his great work.

I would like to say a big thank you to the engineer Dean Barber who came today. The service he provided was excellent and very professional.

Previously, other engineer had visited, but unfortunately the problem with the drainage was not fully resolved. Today Dean came, carefully inspected the situation and managed to completely fix the issue. He was knowledgeable, patient, and clearly experienced. He explained what was happening and made sure everything was properly cleared before leaving.

This level of service truly deserves more than 5 stars. I’m very grateful for his professionalism and dedication to solving the problem.
