Never Get the Group of Carvyou Book

I specifically wanted a car with a large boot space, 1 month trip so lots of luggage. They proposed a Ford Kuga, on day of pick up only cars available we MG ZS, it is a cheap Chinese care ~20% smaller than the Ford. To buy it cost about 2/3 price of the Ford. Limited extras. Complete rip off. Not the first time with this outfit. Previous years I have booked a certain size of car and they provide a car they claim to be in same group but much lower spec and size, only a fool or a con man would think an equivalent vehicle. In the past I have always ended up paying for an upgrade. The MG this time was useless, no power, tiny fuel tank and “tramlines” on motorways.

Would rather give zero stars

Would rather give zero stars. Writing this so all future customers avoid this company. My current situation is I paid for 5 eeeks car hire so not cheap. Car was old and clearly not serviced so broke down yesterday and was towed back to heathrow. Of course that is not where I am staying. So far no replacement, no refund, no communication from them about this. Manager avoiding calls. Staff hung up on me. I have no car.
They are now called Drvilia. Avoid. Don’t give them your money.

Rent a car goes from easier to exaggerated difficult

Easirent supposed to be the easiest way to rent a car. I had rent with them 11 times … very happy.

On my last attempt to rent a car with them they have done the price of renting way much difficult for no reason. They need now to bring both of your parents and the entire family tree to be able to rent a car … disappointing.

Don't give them your money

Long story short. These guys are thieves. Despite paying extra for all the insurance they had I was charged 250 pounds (taken off my credit card without permission) for a damaged tyre. I am considering legal action to get the difference between 250 and the real cost of a tyre back. Note they have now changed their name to Drivalia, no doubt due to the many bad reviews.
Updated - And now a month after my trip they have the cheek to charge me an extra 55 pounds to "
administer" a parking fee. I travel a lot and this is the worst company I have dealt with. Bloody rip off. Avoid at all costs

I had purchased a full insurance from…

I had purchased a full insurance from other company and I showed it to the attendant. Worth of 40 thousand pounds. The attendant said it was not enough and that I had to purchase a full insurance worth of 80 thousand pounds (for a fiat 500), and if I wouldn’t acquire it I wouldn’t be able to get the car. As I was in need of the car I had to buy it.
I will never use this company again.

For starters

For starters, the information on the website about how to get from the airport terminal to the rental office was wrong. After waiting for almost an hour for an non-existent bus, we took a taxi to the location.
When I pointed out that how to get to their place of business was rather an essential piece of information, I got a vague acknowledgement, and the agent said management had been told, but nothing had been done.
But what really irked me, was that despite fully paying for my car at the time of reservation, the agent insisted that I had now pay an extra 38 pounds to get my car. It turned out, this was for the CDW, that I had declined when making the reservation. I explained that this was already covered twice, once with my personal insurance, and again by my credit card.
Next followed a 20 minute charade about how this was "impossible", then demands of written documentation, then suggestions that they were illegal, finally that the computer system made it impossible to remove the charge.
As it was readily apparent that this was all theatre to try my patience and give in, I persevered and a manager eventually removed the charge with much grumbling.
Save yourself the hassle and avoid.

AVOID AT ALL COST

all cost DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. If I could give them 0 stars or even a negative amount of stars I would definitely do it.
From star to finish they are unbelievably unprofessional.
I first had to wait 2hours after coming at the time I booked the car for because they had no available model of the car I booked.
I then had a puncture with the tyre going totally flat. Things can happen but 1) The car had no spare tyre 2) after calling multiple time the assistance number, emergency number and so on nobody never replied to the phone nor came back to me. This is unsafe and irresponsible ! Luckily it happened next to a service area in the motorway but what if I was in the middle of nowhere… At return they could only tell me assistance should have picked up the phone… well they didn’t.
Last but not least BE VERY CAREFUL ABOUT CHARGES BECAUSE THEY LIE ! I’m been told I would be charged 0.35p per extra miles but when reading the contract I saw 0.25p per extra mile. When I asked upon returning the car I’ve been told it is 0.25p + VAT. Either they don’t know basic maths or they try to scam their customers because 0.25p + 20% VAT makes 0.30p not 0.35p
Worst company I have ever used and will never do that mistake again.

Worst car rental company ever

Worst car rental company ever. Far away from any terminal. Shuttlebus did not work. Company was unreachable. Did not have a car for me and refused to give me a confirmation of this fact for the site I had booked through to claim my money back.

This company is an outright SCAM - AVOID

The experience as a whole has been a total loss. During the booking I expressively looked for accepted cards, and the website stated my card was among them. After having booked the car and paid the 139£ I travelled all across London just to discover, while at the collection desk, that only CREDIT CARDS was accepted for the 2.500£ deposit fee (which I found by the way unusually high). Despite the whole sum was anyway promptly available, the desk clerk could not, or would not take the deposit from my debit card. Instead, he promptly took my payment for 470£ non-refundable fee, which I found out was in fact not refundable only a second before signing the contract after my explicit request. I therefore politely explained to the clerk that, given the lack of transparency, and the unfairness of the unjustified fee, I was not willing to finalise the contract. therefore he "cancelled" the payment and assured me the 470£ would be refunded within 5 working days, after 10 days the money are still blocked on my account. FURTHERMORE, since I have cancelled the booking I am losing my reservation fee of 139 £. And eventually to contact the customer service to ask for a refund. Once I proceeded to do that, I have been told by the operator that “since I have cancelled my reservation AFTER the pick-up time, the fee cannot be refunded, and I should have done it IN ADVANCE”. Now, for obvious reasons that cannot have been the case, since I became aware of the ordeal once at the pick-up desk, and because of this nonsense I not only lost the full money for a car I never came to fruition, together with the cost of the transports across London, but, more importantly, I could not attend to all the meetings I was required to that day, and for the following eight days I had to hastily come up with another solution. To sum up: lost money, lost time, lost appointments, lost trust. I really cannot see ANY reason to use their service again.

Scammed

Flight was delayed 4 hours, called to let them know I would be coming. Finally arrived, and was told they had given away the midsize car we booked because they weren’t sure if we were going to arrive. They were saying first they didn’t have anything then a small car appeared and were told, “to take it or leave it”, if we decided to leave it, they would keep our entire booking charge. This was at 8pm at night with trains on strike. We decided to take the car, it was a brand new car with 4 miles on it, they told me I would have to get gas immediately. There was below nothing when driving off.
Dropped the vehicle off a few hours early to be kind. Upon inspection, they told me I damaged the allow wheel rim and I would have to pay £375 pound for it. The mark wasn’t even noticeable unless you are within an inch of looking and it looked like nothing! It could have been there when we drove off, who knows… It was raining and dark and we didn’t even have a chance to really do a through inspection cause we were so frazzled and said it was a new car with no damage (definitely my mistake). After telling the “manager” that was a ridiculous fee for the SMALLEST and almost nonexistent scrap, he said let me go in the office and see “what the best price I could do for you”. This man just came up with a number off the top of his head. He came back and said £225 was his “final price” for the damage and “I WAS PAYING”. The company runs by Drivalia and I’m amazed they are still in business. They are definitely out to make peoples lives harder and abuse consumers. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

nothing was done
staff rude and unhelpful
made numerous complaints on customer service platform with promises of branch manager intervention but nothing forthcoming 3 weeks later

Undeniably, what made me rate the service at Easirent 5 stars, is one of it's employee: Kam.
I have been using Easirent at Heathrow for a number of years and now that I deal with Kam, whenever I have a problem with my reservation, he always fixes it to my satisfaction.
On the last reservation, he advised me to make sure to use the Easirent official website, as I seem to end up on a third party agency sometimes.

I rent from this company on a regular basis so I am use to exceptional service and on this occasion I not let down even thou the gentleman serving me Costas was new. He gave the same excellent service I am use to ..Quick, efficient and very polite.. Thank you again Costas and the whole team working with him including the gentleman cleaning and checking the car. Great Service.

Do not use this company!!

I booked a car rental for 2 weeks from Easirent (recently renamed to Drivalia) through Expedia. I had all my confirmations before arriving. I landed in Heathrow with my family after an overnight flight. The rental site is a pretty long drive from Heathrow and busses only run every 30 minutes or so.

When I arrived at the Drivalia site, they said my booking had been cancelled. Expedia confirmed they had not cancelled it. It took me over 2 hours to reinstate the booking with Drivalia, but now they did not have the Premium Wagon (Volvo XC60 or similar) on site. I was given a Renault Captur. This car was not the size and quality of the car I ordered, but the best they had. At this stage, my family was exhausted and the idea of going back to Heathrow to find another car at another rental company was not acceptable. Our luggage barely fit in the vehicle and we had to ride with additional bags loaded inside the vehicle and no leg room for all of the passengers. I only used this company thinking I was getting a "premium wagon".

Before issuing me with the car, Drivalia then asked me for proof of insurance. My credit card covers car rentals, but I was then asked to show the section of the policy where this was stated. Obviously I dont carry my credit card policy details around with me. Exhausted and faced with going back to Heathrow, I paid an additional GBP 390 for insurance I did not need.

My trip is over, I received a booking confirmation from the company showing the car I got was a Ford Focus or similar (Group C), which is clearly an inferior car to the "premium wagon" Volvo XC60 I booked and paid for.

I am seeking a refund from the company for the difference between the car I ordered and the one i got, but so far I have had no response from the company.

I travel a lot and would highly recommend that anyone thinking of using this company chose a more reputable company and avoid this business at all costs. We were not the only ones getting the run around at the time. While we were there we met another family from Australia also had their rental "cancelled" and they had to spend the night in a nearby hotel while they sorted things out.

Stay away!

The staff were quick and professional. The car was the size I needed. Unfortunately none automatic for that size .Drop off in Gatwick, was very convenient for both terminals.
