4 years of stress
We dealt with the sales representative in Tauranga for the Aluplast uPVC joinery which is one of the best companies in Germany.
After signing the contract and paying 50% deposit the sales rep. went from being all over us like a rash to communication being almost nonexistent. This was the start of a 4-year year battle.
We only had 3 doors and 9 windows fitted in 2 stages.
Stage 1 we had 3 doors and 3 windows fitted and every one had damage,95% was done by the installers the rest was transport and manufactured issues. We also had a lot of missing parts.
I did point out to the head installer that I could see daylight under one of the doors, I was told "Tough, these things happen".
After 2 years of trying to get everything fixed we took the company to the Disputes Tribunal. In that time no one from the company had visited to have a good look at the damage. The company was given a deadline date to rectify the problems by the arbitrator which was the best thing.
The person the company sent to fix the damage to the frames was brilliant. His attitude was if you are going to repair something you do it right the first time, regardless as to how long it takes. He done an amazing job.
As a sort of compensation, the sales rep. offered us a bit of discount on having the rest of the windows done to keep all the frames the same. Our biggest concern was, did we want more stress? In the end we decided to go with hoped the company had learnt something from the last 3 years. The only thing that changed was we had a lovely installer who took a lot of pride in his work. That took another year to have 6 windows fitted.
Sadly, that installer could not finish the job, so another person had to fit the last 2 small windows.
Are they perfect? NO. We are left with one reminder of 4 years of stress.
Aluplast joinery is a brilliant product, but EcoAuckland who is part of EcoWellington has absolutely no good points as a business.
If you are interested in quality uPVC joinery then I would suggest you look at the company in East Tamaki, Auckland that imports the Aluplast joinery.
Quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten.
