Angry, dishonest manager

Got quoted a price in March for front suspension. A few weeks later I got quoted a price for the same, which was slightly cheaper, the manager said prices varied all the time. I then rang and confirmed the price with the manager a few days before dropping my car off with them. Despite feeling something was quite off with the manager on the phone (unpleasant and not very polite or customer focused), I decided to get the work done there due to location convenience. When I came to pay the price had gone back up to the earlier outdated quote, subsequent quotes had been deleted. The manager argued its there on the screen, the price was the price, then lied to my face about me confirming the price a few days prior (and a couple of weeks prior to that), saying I had just asked if it was the same price and that he took the call. He had also changed my name from Mr to Miss, as though a juvenille joke to amuse his self. I lost the will to argue any more as the guy was clearly an arrogant, angry, dishonest and totally unprofessional person that I wasn't going to get anywhere with. I told him that I was going to just pay and leave. I will never go there again and will advise my work colleagues the same, as he hasn't acted with any integrity whatsoever. This place doesn't deserve my hard earned cash. I don't deserve to be treat like that by a so called manager.

Service over and above

Service over and above
After a fault developed changing my car battery, the staff at Formula 1 went over and above to resolve the issue with one staff member coming in on his day off and another staying well beyond closing time with him. Thank you for fabulous service.

Excellent service and honest staff

I recently had my brake pads and headlight replaced at this mechanic in Chatham, followed by new callipers. The staff were very pleasant and friendly throughout the whole process. They accidentally forgot to replace the headlight at first, but as soon as they realised, they took care of it immediately and at no extra charge. I really appreciated how accommodating they were with my time constraints — it made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. Great customer service and professionalism overall. Highly recommend.

I had a full service and mot

I had a full service and mot . After service I noticed service book hasn't been signed turned back office for it done! Service warning ⚠️ was still on dashboard turned back again fix this silly thing! There was few advice on the paperwork one of them was about brake disc and pads replacing their price was litle too high I booked RAC mobile service for replacement engineer checked disk said this advice not right at least 1 or 2 years you don't need new disk measurements not correct he showed me what is on paper what is actual ! Of course I didn't replace it. It cost me £99 which wasn't necessarily
I don't recommend this company! Don't think service price is cheaper than the others. It would cost you more than you think 🤔

Not good enough

Very poor standard of communication, customer service, and proactivity. I did have to make a formal complaint, and I didn't find the response particularly transparent or helpful. I won't be returning for future business with F1 Autocentre, Chatham.

I called in as I found a nail in my…

I called in as I found a nail in my tyre. I was having a stressful morning. The guy on the reception desk was very helpful. They were busy but they were able to sort the problem out in about an hour. Thankfully no puncture. The team were friendly and it was a good atmosphere. All round good experience. Thank you all so much

Went to get a tyre changed

Went to get a tyre changed, had said it was the front driver side and when I went to collect, they had changed the back driver side. They then proceeded to basically call me a liar and said that I had said rear driver.
Now I need to pay for two tyres instead of the one.
Didn’t use them after the time they decided to tell me I had all sorts wrong with my car when I didn’t. My dad booked this as it was urgent. Would never use them again!!
When getting stuff changed or done I would check they have it correct or also record the conversation as they make you out to be a liar- if you’re a women!
Not sure they would have done it if I had a male there with me.

Superb service

I’ve just received superb customer service at the Formula One Chatham (Horsted) garage. They provided outstanding customer service and Becky was phenomenal with her due care and attention. Not all hero’s wear capes. Well done Formula One. I would definitely recommend to others and I will be back for more routine servicing 🥰

Thoroughly pleased with the experience…

I was thoroughly pleased with the way my appointment was handled and to be honest, I don't think the service could be bettered anywhere else. I will be using F1 again in the future. I only went in for 2 tyres but came away with a comprehensive report on the road worthiness of my car and some valuable pointers. There was nothing pushy about the staff, just polite and friendly people. A very refreshing experience.

I popped in the formula one branch in…

I popped in the formula one branch in Chatham today as I got turned away by halfords, only to ask where my fuse box was on my astra. I was helped by a lady called Becky who printed off a diagram of the fuse box and gave a few fuses to try. This has worked, so thank you Becky.

Still the stealth charge for oil

I love the service I get from the staff at my local Formula One Autocentre but why do they have to continue with this stealth charge for Oil? When obtaining online quotes you have to remember it isn't a like for like quotes. Get rid of this stealth charge and it's a 5 star review.....

I have dealt with the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

I have dealt with the worst customer service I have ever experienced. My car broke down in the early hours of Thursday, non starter, battery good and starter motor engaging, just not firing. I called formula one Chatham on Friday and told them about my cars state and what I know is working on the car and said it must be a fuel issue or a coil pack- ignition problem. Formula One Chatham had promised to have scanned my car with an OBD2 code reader on Friday and come up with a plan so me and my dad towed my car there ourselves with his X1 on a bit of blue nylon rope and parked my car there in a space where I then had started receiving disgusting attitude from both of the two service advisers telling me “what’s this for my car park is full up and now you’re putting that there I’m not plugging that in today you didn’t say it was a non runner.” I did in-fact tell them the exact condition of the car. They then didn’t touch the car Friday like they said, or Saturday which they then agreed on, or Sunday or Monday. It is Tuesday and I have called them twice and they have told me “it’s a non started so unless the car starts we are not touching it. We are not insured to push vehicles into our workshop. To say I am beyond appalled is an understatement. I am to now go and retrieve my car and tow it by myself again with nothing being done after nearly a week. AVOID THIS “GARAGE” AT ALL COSTS. ME AND MY FAMILY HAS GAD NOTHING BUT BAD EXPERIENCES FROM THEM.

Booked my MOT online with no problems

Booked my MOT online with no problems, 2 days before it was cancelled due to the ramp being out of action and needing to be fixed (fair enough). Called the chatham branch to rebook for the following Saturday and that got booked in no problems. I called them mid week to check all was okay and the MOT was going to go ahead on Saturday as I didn't want to be caught short with the MOT expiry, told all was fine. I turnt up 30 minutes before my MOT appointment on the Saturday to be told that the MOT guy was not in and I should of got a call! Absolutely disgusting. Only positive to add, the receptionist gave me details of "The test center" in Rochester as they had 1 avaliable slot the same day, which were absolutely fantastic and the car passed (you don't pay if your car doesn't pass and they only carry out MOTs). Highly reccondmend "The Test Center" , wouldn't waste your time with Formula One.

Amazing manager (female one)

I broke down in the middle of rush hour right on the roundabout outside the garage. At first the man behind the desk was reluctant to help and said they were really busy. (All I needed was help to roll it to a safe place) but the manager came over straight away and was so amazing! It was only me and my baby and after realising the car wasn’t going to move the manager (can’t remember her name :( ) started checking the car over, let me borrow Jerry cans, run diagnostics, tried jump starting. It was her day off and she was helping me for a good two hours in the rain! She went above and beyond! Such a credit to the company. I was such a mess when this first happened and she was honestly so good with me and the baby! Thankyou so much

Never told car would be all dat

Took car in at 8.30, went back at 11.30 to see how they were getting on, was told car hasnt been touched and will be in all day. At no point was i told it would be all day, no customer service absolutely shocking, will not take my car there again, should have read google reviews.

NO NO - Bad experience - I booked my car few days ago and had…

I booked my car few days ago and had requested a full service . It charged me £235 , no oil changed , no computer board error corrected and I had to send my husband second day, as on the day we picked it up was close to closing time , the guy said that if we are unhappy to come again next day he will see why the oil was not topped up at lest , since the car computer board would still show us that the oil was still missing. Next day my husband went a guy came with about 2l of oil topped it up and the car board finally would show that it has sufficient oil. So was this car ever serviced really? Oil should be changed not even topped up to say the least!
Not doing your job as requested is a NO NO for us with your centre. Will definitely look elsewhere next time.

Just had a tyre replaced after having…

Just had a tyre replaced after having blow out on the M2. Took car to chatham F1. Pleasantly surprised with the service from both Grant and TJ. Grant on the desk has excellent customer service skills with both his phone and face to face manner are second to none.
TJ who dealt with my car was very polite informative and swift with his help.
