AVOID FATCOW AND IPAGE

I would give these con artists a minus 10 if i could. Read these reviews, they are the scum of the earth.
FATCOW (which is trying to hide behind a new name Ipage) kept taking money from my account even though I closed everything down.
I had no domains.
Did not host anything. They send stats every month and knew that I was no longer using their services.
They said they are the friend of non technical people like me and were for 15 years. Then they showed their true colors by stealing from me behind my back
HORRIBLE PEOPLE who hide behind policies that suit them and not you
THEY DO NOT DESERVE YOUR CUSTOM
AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE
THERE ARE BETTER SERVICE PROVIDERS

Stay away from FatCow!

FatCow was taken over by iPage and they have installed a monitoring application Cloudflare that conflicts with the function of many legitimate applications. Their support is incompetent, dismissive, and borderline abusive. I put yesterday as the date, but frankly the entire year has been an ordeal. I'm in the process of migrating to a new host, but with more than a decade of being hosted by FatCow, this is no small feat.

I would like to give 0 stars! Very expensive and unhelpful when problems arise. I was a customer for 10 years and have now canceled my account!!!! The Fatcow system was hacked and spam was sent via my emails. Fatcow simply blocked my email account without warning. Our system was not hacked! We could no longer send emails!! NO help from Fatcow. It's all our fault!!! This is a business account with Fatcow! Support only asks for good reviews, but offers no solution!! NEVER again Fatcow!!! We lost a lot of money because of Fatcow!!

I would actually give 0 if I could

I would actually give 0 if I could, on more than one occasion now all of my saved very important emails have been deleted from their server. They blame me, avoid giving answers when I tell them I never removed any. Get combative and unhelpful, say they can restore only 14 days at a cost per account. After an hour on chat no resolution, no answers, years of important information lost with absolutely no explanation?
I am so frustrated, I wanted to escalate but told no. Despite paying for security it’s not secure, if anyone is thinking of using this company please think again.
I now have to raise a complaint which I’m sure will get me nowhere.
Apparently it’s all my fault despite the fact that I have done nothing.
Extremely disappointed and frustrated that so many essential messages have been deleted. Avoid

Avoid FatCow at all costs

FatCow traps its users in multi-year, overpriced hosting plans and re-sold platform (Weebly) builder plans. Then, when you try to downgrade or cancel, they will tell you it is "impossible" and will hold your site hostage. It is unacceptable how they treat consumer.

Designed to Scam

On 5/10/25, I was charged $649.45 for their hosting package for two years. I was never contacted about an increase in cost. This was almost triple the cost of the previous two hosting packages that I had purchased, $200 in 2021 and $240 in 2023.

When I saw the transaction on 5/28/25, I immediately contacted Fatcow. I asked for my service to be cancelled and to be given a refund. They refused, claiming that I needed to contact them within 15 days of the transaction. However, they have a 30 day refund policy.

Stay away from this company. I've used their hosting service for over 10 years because it was cheap. It's not worth it.

I've tried to remove my billing information from my account, but they don't have the tools to do that. I've had to report them to my bank and make sure they can't charge my account again.

Also, their tools are the same since I started using their services in 2008. They haven't updated anything...

Problematic since they were acquired by Bluehost

Last week it took REPEATED attempts to recover my account because their system locked me out.

I'm ok with that there is protocol to re-verify that I'm the owner, but what I was not ok with is that THEIR EMAILS failed to either reach me or then when they did finally respond....their email servers would not accept my response.

My response was requested by their Recovery team to provide the ID documentation to get back in.

I had to contact them at least 4 times, spend endless hours inside chat, and that is extremely frustrating.

Today, my new issue is trying to transfer my 2 domains out of Fatcow. This way I can move on.

I explained that they have had email server issues, and that I was not getting my codes.

They "escalated" the issue...only for them to IMMEDIATELY CLOSE the ticket and tell me that they resent the codes, and to "check my spam".

If there was something less then 1 star, then this would be the first time in my life that I would publically leave such a review.

Years ago, Fatcow was wonderful, but now? I don't feel the same.

My first year was 1998

My first year was 1998. Cost me 49 for the year. I have a simple information only website. 5 pages with a contact form. Had to start a new subscription in 2008 due to financial hack. My contract was over in February of 2025. I needed two more months to close everything out as the business was closing. Went to monthly, went to renew for the next month and they deleted my website then wanted me to pay extra to have it back up. USELESS !!!

These guys are the worst

These guys are the worst. Wouldn’t allow me to cancel policy because of a technicality when I had responded via email, which they now claim is no longer connected to them! Charged me for entire year, no full or even partial refund. Can only contact via CHAT! Absolutely horrible.

Withdrawing money from B account

Be careful, i have been with this company for 10 years, in several occasions, they withdrew me without my consent.

They renewed , the added products without my knowledge, I have decided to leave them in the next stage.

They are Holding my domain Hostage

I have been overpaying these guys for 14 years for web hosting and one domain. Finally decided to go with another service and can't transfer my domain because the address they have on file is still the original address I used 14 years ago, but I haven't lived there for the last 8 years. This never got updated because they apparently have 7 or so places you have to update contact info, very confusing setup. So now they won't validate my account, so I can update my contact info, so I can transfer the domain to my new provider. They want a document showing I live at my old address so I can update with my new address???? They are basically trying to bully me into staying with them to pay 2 1/2 times the price of other providers that are much better. Its looking like I will loose the domain I've owned for almost 15 years because of this company and their poor customer service.

ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO GET A HOLD OF ANYBODY AND THEY HAVE A CHAT OPTION WHERE IT SEEMS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP AND I ARE TALKING ABOUT TWO DIFFERENT SUBJECTS THE ENTIRE TIME - NEVER ADDRESSED MY ISSUE - HOLY HELL THEY ARE TERRIBLE. DON'T KNOW WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THEM AS THEY WERE ALWAYS DECENT YEARS BACK

What happened to them?

What happened to them? They were a reliable and reasonably priced service; now they are crooks! They wanted $575 to renew for one year, and I couldn't get my files without renewing. First they said I could renew for one month, then it changed to 2 months. They were holding my files hostage! I have used them for web hosting for years, with great phone support. Now you can't even get them on the phone. (A recording says their phone system is "broken".) Something happened! STAY AWAY from them!

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. their renewal rate is ridiculous at $700+ for 3 years. The chat help keeps lying about things. They, in short, do not have their s**t together - avoid at all costs!! you have been warned

There's really no difference between…

There's really no difference between fat cow and a common thief. Several times they have pulled the same crap.

They recently made it so that I couldn't access my account at all until I purchased domain privacy. The screen just kept on going back to the "purchase domain privacy screen"

I had to actually call them and then get them to fix it and then a couple days later they just charged me anyway. They had my bank account information.

Do not give these thieves your bank account or PayPal or any other information or you will spend a lot of time trying to get money back that day. Steal.

I'm not saying that they theoretically steal money or I feel like I've been robbed, I'm saying they literally steal money from your account for sh!t that you didn't ask for. I don't know why they haven't been prosecuted.

I spent almost 2 hours trying to cancel…

I spent almost 2 hours trying to cancel my account with this company. Between the site booting me out anytime I tried to go to a different window to trying to figure out how to chat or call them for help. Never could find the chap icon and when I called, the recording said they were having difficulty with the phones.
The email worked ok, I've used better. It needs a lot of work to make it easier to do tasks. I never could get it on my Android, always had to go through the website.

I have been with Fatcow for 10 years…

I have been with Fatcow for 10 years and their service has gone incredibly downhill. They have increased their rates exponentially and downgraded their service also exponentially. When I tried to communicate with them I got absolute poor customer service, different info from different people. It is truly a joke of a company at this point. Go elsewhere, as I am doing.
