Just completed my PPL with Flight Training London, and couldn't be happier. Professional at every step of the way. Great aircraft, fantastic staff and lots of support from everyone. Special Thanks to Jack, who got me started with trial flights, James my instructor and Ivan my Examiner, but too many others in the school to mention - all have been professional and enthuastic at every step of the way. Learning to fly is difficult, and not cheap, but the team at FTL will make your dreams happen. They are not just a flight school, you soon feel part of the family.

I started my PPL journey with FTL last month and have since been on a trial flight & 4 hours of instruction. Jaime and other instructors are all friendly as is Ivan the owner.

Very warm reception when you first arrive and very helpful with all questions you may have. Once you become a member you get access to online booking system which makes it super simple to book around your own schedule.

Glad I gave FTL a try & looking forward to completing my PPL with Jaime and FTL over the next year or so.

Great flying school! I have finished my PPL there very recently and from the moment I had walked in I felt welcome and at ease. The instructors are helpful and always happy to answer any questions. The lesson booking process is easily done online and the availability is excellent, any aircraft type/day/time/instructor available if you book in advance so that's a great tool in planning your training! Any communication was always quick and easy. Also, you can take your PPL theory exams on site whenever you feel ready. I am delighted I have completed my training with TFL and I highly recommend them!

I joined FTL (Flight Training London), when I was half way through my PPL training; referred to this school by other FI (Flight Instructors), pilots and student pilots from the late Panshanger (EGLG, for those who remember), as we were all in search of a new school.

I was instantly greeted in a warm and friendly atmosphere, by Ivan and Tamsyn, who run the flying school.

Based at Elstree Aerodrome, just north of Edgware in North London, it is a great place to learn how to fly as it is within a tight airspace, close to London and as a quite short runway with a nice upslope on runway 26 (downslope on the opposite runway, 08), which makes you become a better pilot. You can also fly at night to Elstree, providing that runway 26 is in use.

I can say, and without any bias, that FTL is truly a great flying school to learn and progress through your flying training, whether you intend to fly for fun as in GA (General Aviation) or later one go commercial.

There is a diversity of instructors, always keen to help you, no matter what you are trying to achieve. They will all take the time to properly brief you about what is it that the lesson will be about, help you understand your airplane, be there for you during the lesson and also debrief you after the lesson.
Ground school are also possible whenever needed, usually in the evening, or when the weather is not flyable.

You will be able to fly small single engine airplanes, great for learning, and choose to fly either Pipers or Cessnas. You can choose between the following airplanes, well maintained and looked after:

– PA28: 2 warriors and 2 archers
– C152/150: 3 C152 and 2 C150

FTL is also a great place to socialise and meet other people, whether they are pilots or not, as there is a social atmosphere that dominate in this school, which pushes you not just to come for a flying lesson and leave, but rather come and share the Love of Airplanes and flying.

This is a school I highly recommend If you are serious about leaning to fly and make new friends, as these guys will dedicate to you all the possible time they have.
