Locked out of my account right after purchasing a custom site domain

When purchasing my custom domain, I had no issues whatsoever. I go to relax on my own time, and then come back to being totally logged out. One thing I wish this service did was remind me to put in a username, because they require you to have a username AND an email to reset your password. I didn't even see my username before I got logged out!! Wish that I'd seen sooner that this service is nothing more than a scam. Either that, or setting my password was the one thing I should've focused on. Whatever the case, please--do better.

FREEHOSTIA SCAM/TRASH DONT SIGNUP!

I just signup for a free and pay the domain at freehostia, i was waiting for the service to be available, but my account just gone or block out of nowhere or why. Very Trash and scam company! They Telling about a refund which never happens!

As for your account, it's still there, and you can access it at any moment. If you have any questions or problems with your service, you can always reach out to us at support@freehostia.com. I am very disappointed with freehostia…

I am very disappointed with freehostia I purchased a domain after completing the payment they blocked my account without saying anything, I wrote to support they said they noticed some suspicious activity and will not refund the amounts.

Scam company that just Collect your data and sells it

It is a Scam company that just Collect your data and sells it, the idea of hosting or getting a domain name for free is just FAKE when you click on the domain u register in FREEHOSTIA it takes you to another domain and when u use 'who is' to see the domine is it really registered and yours YOU will find out it's belong to another person with another provider so the whole website is fake and they use it as the gate of getting your info and sell it I will transfer this as a video to FBI

I really disappointed with Freehostia…

I really disappointed with Freehostia due to their irresponsible to their customer I lost 90% of my customers because of using this service. They will shutdown every of your sites when you are getting more customers. Be careful for using this scam and helpless service!

Best For My Money

I have been with Freehostia for more than 10 years. Even though there were times of short technical trouble, they were quick to correct the situation. I have about 9 sites hosted with them and I pay one price, less than $50 U.S to have all the same privileges of the hosting plan with all 9 website. They have consistent support via ticket support that you can find in the dashboard of your account. For paying so little, it has been the best business decision for me.

SIte taken down, account blocked, reasons obscure

I've had 2 free Chocolate Plan sites for a long time. Bought added memory for one and account was blocked. Responses from tech support:
“Your account was not approved and we will not be providing any services to you. The order was voided and refunded.
Kindly find another provider.”
“We are not obligated to share details and reason if we deny service, we have full rights to do so.” Then I was told I'd violated Terms of Service. Read them and thought it was due to having 2 free accounts. Apologized, asked for access to my files. Was denied. Further:
"We might consider your actions abuse of the ticketing system if you keep posting comments regarding account "deleted" which will lead to suspension of this account too."
I wrote to complaints@freehostia, got this:
Your payments were declined an you should be completely aware of the service suspension based on previous history, let me remind you:
To whom it may concern, RSA, The Security Division of EMC , an information security company, has been appointed to assist Capital One in preventing or terminating online activity that targets, or may target Capital One's clients as potential fraud victims. RSA has been made aware that your company appears to be providing internet services to a website, which is making unauthorized use of Capital One'€™s trademarks.”
I have no idea—the website in question has no logos or payment options, it only contains artwork images and text. I don’t use Capital One. My payment was accepted by my card but then refunded, I assume by freehostia.

I do not appreciate being accused of fraud. Freehostia is not following their own directives—I got no e-mails alerting me to an issue, nor was I given an opportunity to recover my files.

we were hosted there for several years untill....

we were hosted there for several years. we decided to pay for upgrading our hosting plan. 10 minutes after the payment was taken, without any sort of warning the website was wiped entirely and our credentials were blocked.
the next days we received this by email:

'Hello,

We reserve our right to refuse services. The money have been refunded and should be on your end in 72 hours.

Let us know if any question arise.'

The website was simply providing outsourcing services in IT. The only reason I could find for that sudden incredible reaction was that one of our employees had a typical Russian name. (cannot think of anything else)

well covid+mass media hysteria don't explain everything. That hoster is simply terrible. They may have the right not to provide services but certainly not to erase all our data without any warning but by these troubled times, who really cares?

My site has been down for 20 hours

My site has been down for 20 hours. They decided to do a hardware move on a Saturday during the day! What are they thinking. And they never sent any communication about maintenence or being down. I could have moved my dns name. This is crazy.

12 Years faultless and patient service

I have used this company for over 12 years and I found their support to be the fastest and most courteous and patient I've ever used. I use them for business-critical situations.

That said I am a paying customer but their services are the best value I found on the market.

is the worst services forever , when you submit order and buy something non answer the website back when you logged in . i don't saw like this ?! stay way if you don't like lost your money and times

You couldn't ask for a better free…

You couldn't ask for a better free hosting service.

Their Chocolate plan has no ads, a free SSL and enough resources for a minimal WordPress site. Optimize it by compressing images and caching. For small blogs, portfolios, etc its perfect and actually free. I haven't been spammed by them either, like some other free hosts will do. Thanks to whoever runs this.
