My experience with Gaan Baksho Music
My experience with Gaan Baksho Music
My experience with Gaan Baksho Music has been very disappointing.
My account was closed after they claimed that a track had been distributed without me having the necessary rights. I repeatedly asked them to provide the specific evidence supporting this allegation, including the evidence on which they based their decision.
On my side, I had documentation relating to the distribution of the tracks on various platforms, including TikTok and Meta, as well as information such as the UPC and ISRC associated with the releases.
I also sent a formal notice and, subsequently, a final email giving them 5 business days to provide the evidence and clarify the situation. Instead of providing a complete response to my requests, Gaan Baksho Music maintained the closure of my account.
Another issue concerns the financial terms. My contract states a 70/30 royalty split, while Mr. Da Costa had previously told me that the split would be 80/20 before I agreed to work with them. I believe this discrepancy should have been clearly explained and resolved.
What I find most disappointing is the lack of transparency and communication in the way this matter was handled. When an account is closed based on such a serious allegation, I believe it is reasonable for the distributor to provide the evidence necessary for the client to understand and challenge the decision.
I am sharing this experience so that artists and labels considering working with Gaan Baksho Music can take it into account and ask the necessary questions before entering into an agreement.
