GSA is the best self-hosting option for anyone out there. Firstly, it offers complete independence from overcrowded servers with constant downtimes. You control the hardware on which your servers run, so you know exactly the resources that are being allocated. Secondly, the constant updates and communication from Max are something you won't find elsewhere. The second there is an issue with a blueprint for a game he is on the case to fix it. Finding a service that isn't automated customer service and has actual, real people is hard nowadays, but GSA has always done right by its customers, and something I will always pay for without batting an eye.
If you want to keep wasting your money at hosts who don't care about you and overcharge you, then GSA may not be for you. But if you want to save money in the long run and host something actually playable, then GSA is where to look. They are very reasonably priced, and the service as a whole is outstanding. I have been using GSA on and off for over 3 years, and I can say with certainty that this is the BEST option when it comes to self-hosting. Everything you possibly need is available at your fingertips.

I am writing this review to share my personal experience with GameServerApp.com because my time using this platform was extremely disappointing and frustrating.
I joined GameServerApp expecting a professional game management panel to help manage my ARK Survival servers. Instead, my account was completely banned after I raised questions about their pricing and their decision to no longer support self-hosted interserver setups. This was a legitimate concern, as removing support for self-hosted interservers significantly impacts users who rely on that architecture. Rather than explaining the change or discussing alternatives, my account was removed with no warning and no meaningful explanation.
There was no attempt at conversation, no clarification, and no opportunity to resolve anything. I was simply banned for questioning pricing and the removal of a core feature. That kind of response is unacceptable for any professional service.
After this happened, I learned that my experience was not unique. A simple search for “GSA” within the ArkServerAPI Discord, as well as in several private ARK plugin and modder communities, shows a consistent pattern of users and developers actively discouraging others from using GameServerApp. The most common reason cited is poor support quality and an inability to have open, constructive discussions when issues or concerns are raised.
Several respected and well-known figures in the ARK development community have openly voiced concerns as well. Pelayori has encouraged server owners to move toward ASA Manager instead, while Wetbatman has directly stated that GSA provides horrible service and should be avoided. These are not random users, but experienced contributors within the ecosystem, and seeing consistent criticism from that level of the community carries weight.
At a certain point, this becomes hard to ignore. When the ArkServerAPI development team itself is telling server owners to avoid GSA, and when a large portion of the ASA server-owner community is actively steering clear of what many describe as expensive micro-addons paired with limited or unresponsive support, it suggests there is a real underlying problem. If that many experienced developers and server operators are independently reaching the same conclusion, they are likely onto something.
What stood out to me further is that even the creator of ArkServerAPI has publicly encouraged the use of ASA Manager, developed by Vasile Jianu. I am not mentioning this to promote another product, but to highlight how widespread dissatisfaction with GSA has become within the ecosystem. In contrast, Vasile Jianu even offered ASA Manager at no cost to users looking to transition away from GSA, which reflects a very different approach to community support and leadership.
From my own observations, the owner Max frequently puts down other ARK plugin and mod developers publicly, which only adds to the negative perception surrounding the platform. Seeing respected developers and community leaders distance themselves from GSA reinforced that my experience was not an isolated incident, but part of a broader pattern.
Users should be able to question pricing changes, feature removals, and long-term support decisions without fear of retaliation or losing access to their accounts. Healthy platforms encourage discussion, transparency, and accountability, especially when discontinuing critical infrastructure like self-hosted interservers.
Unless there is a significant change in how this platform operates, I cannot in good faith recommend GameServerApp to anyone. That would require a dramatic reduction in pricing, the removal of the aggressive micro-addons pricing model, and a fundamental improvement in how customer support is handled. Users should not have to pay extra for basic functionality, nor should they fear censorship, account bans, or Discord moderation actions simply for seeking help or asking reasonable questions.
Until GameServerApp demonstrates a willingness to engage transparently with its users and treat its community with respect, I will actively discourage others from using the platform and advise server owners to look elsewhere for solutions that prioritize fairness, communication, and real customer support.

CRAP. They block access to the panel for no reason. I don't recommend it. Support is zero help. It's best to block it, no thanks.

Everything that a server owner needs. Lots of possibilities with the blueprints. The tasks system also works very well to automate stuff. And when you do have issues, they have excellent support. I would recommend this over any other game server manager.

I tried to create a new account, after also, trying to delete an old one. Which got my ip banned. I queried this,
Max: It seems that your other account got banned, and this resulted in your IP address being blocked.
Any reason why you're creating multiple accounts?
Me: Setting a new community. Using new email address the other one has been around since premium ark days
Max I recommend using your existing account. That should let you login now.
Me: I actually did not want to use the old account, and had deleted it
Max: You logged into the account registered to this email address yesterday, so I'm pretty sure that you are aware it has not been deleted.
Me: Yes, i am, why is this not deleting. It doesnt matter, Max, I will go elsewhere. I dont know why you make things difficult, all i wanted, was to create a new community and delete the old one.
I wonder what has happened to your customer service.
Max: Not much has changed: folks that are respectful with me still get excellent service. But you are right, I stopped caring about the people that are being rude and disrespectful.
Max, you were respectful once, now you are rude to anybody who questions you.
P.S. this is the whole exchange. and your version of new years eve "provoking" was just a customer questioning.

My experience as a new customer:
I tried to create an account, I got an error message saying my IP is blocked. I contacted the support via mail. They say my internet provider is blocked, even though it's my regular home internet provider (SFR from France). Support gave no any other explanation or help. I joined their Discord server to ask more detail but got immediately banned.
Can't recommend a service that refuse new customers without any reasons...

I’ve been using Game Server App (GSA) since 2022, and I can confidently say it’s the perfect all-in-one tool for managing game servers. If you think it’s lacking or not meeting your needs, chances are you’re not using it correctly—it’s that good!
The features are incredibly versatile, and every day I discover a new, better, or even funnier way to do things. Whether it’s simplifying server management, adding creative functionalities, or enhancing the player experience, GSA delivers beyond expectations.
The support team and community are top-notch, always ready to help and make sure you’re getting the most out of the platform. Hands down, this is the best solution for server management.
Keep up the excellent work!
Sincerely,
Crom

First, there is nothing else out there like GSA. If you want to build an actual community and not just host a heap of servers, check this out!!! Discord integration is great, cross game services are cool, shop is well put together, platform allows you to pay only for what you need, etc. Add to this a developer that is unreasonably responsive and helpful, and who incentivizes his growing community to be friendly and helpful, and you have a home-run platform/service. I wish I could leave you fine readers my contact info here so you could ask me more about this platform, but since I can't, check it out and hop in the supporting Discord server if you still have questions. See you there!

Overal GSA provides a nice layout for managing servers. But this only matters on initial setup.
Issues: even with dedi connect, the UI is slow, you cannot set affinity properly for containers, there is no explanation on how cluster chat works, and is just ad slow and unreliable.
Support is extremely hard to get, and when you do, it's in an open forum in discord, which is undesirable for a paid product.
EDIT 2024/10/20:
I eventually found their support email, after I was forcibly locked out of my account. My IP is flagged as a business IP. After reaching out to support, I was told I am a "hosting provider", even after providing proof this was not the case, I gave the ultimatum of either allowing me to access my account, or for them to terminate the account. They chose the latter.
It's truly been a bad experience from start to finish, and I will now more than ever, suggest no one to use the company.

Before i had posted a review which was lower then GSA deserved. Now that i have a better understanding of how GSA works its clear that i was doing something wrong. So hereby i give GSA and Max the review it deserves.
Thanks alot for your hard work Max and thanks for your customer support to help newer people out.

Way too expensive for what it does. If you want to host your own gaming servers for friends, there are better and free alternatives. Way too many bells and whistles for smaller communities, 1 server for a free tier is stupidly low.

The app itself is great. Very well designed and thought out. This is a solo development project, so support is extremely limited. Seeing as how this app is monetized rather than open sourced, no support will be given for anything that is not already a part of the app, and you can never really see what the app is doing. There is also no option to host your web dashboard locally, so it is all hosted from someone elses servers and there is obviously a fair amount of latency as well as a constant need to refresh the page to view live data. If you are someone that simply has extra hardware with no server experience and want to host a game server, this is an excellent option that will do everything you will ever need. If you are someone with a fair amount of experience working with servers just wanting to streamline the process, the app works, but functionality is limited, you only get what is there and nothing more. Some might say it takes a little bit of freedom out of server work, you can modify your machine as you see fit, but you are entirely on your own to make it work, certainly not something that would be an issue with open source projects. You are basically instructed to install gsa on a fresh machine and never do anything except for what you can do from the gsa dashboard.
This is a great app, but it gets just a little too much credit. Everyone talks about it like it does absolutely everything, when it simply does not, and most of what it does do must be paid for.

Great mod lots of options to customize your servers the way you want. Also it's fairly inexpensive for what you get. Great job
