Great interaction with helpful and knowledgeable staff. Matching the best price was even better. I didn't know that there was a store so close to home.

Was eyeing a certain lens and noticed the same lens for a cheaper price elsewhere. Having bought items previously from Georges was keen to stick with them and true to their word they were able to match price. Fast delivery to boot.

I very rarely leave negative reviews, and in fact most of the reviews I’ve posted over the years have been positive ones for businesses I genuinely wanted to recommend. Unfortunately, my experience with Georges Cameras was so disappointing that I felt it was worth documenting.

I contacted Georges about a Sennheiser EW-DP ENG set that was advertised on their website for $1,156.62. I spoke with Caleb on a Friday and specifically asked whether I should be concerned that the price might be part of a temporary or weekend promotion. I even offered to place the order then and cancel later if the stock ETA turned out to be excessive.

I was told not to worry, that the price had been there for some time, and that I should simply call back once the ETA was known. Caleb also specifically suggested that I take a screenshot of the advertised price in case it changed, and indicated that Georges would sort it out if that happened.

I called on Monday, got the ETA of about 6 weeks and wanted to think about it overnight. When I tried to purchase the item on Tuesday evening, the price had increased. As the store was closed, I called the following morning and spoke with Timothy who asked me to supply the screenshot I had been told to retain. Timothy referred the matter to management, and I received an email advising that the previous price could not be honoured because it was supposedly only valid until Monday.

That was especially frustrating because I had never been told there was a Monday deadline and I had specifically raised the possibility of the price changing but was assured I would be taken care of, to simply take the screenshot as a backup – which was the only reason I took the screenshot in the first place.

What makes this more disappointing is that I was still actually prepared to pay slightly more to buy from Georges rather than another retailer that I had found online, because I had already dealt with Caleb and appreciated the effort he had made checking stock availability for me.

Instead, after being reassured there was nothing to worry about, told to keep evidence of the price, and then having that evidence effectively disregarded, I ended up purchasing the same product elsewhere.

The issue for me is not simply that a price changed. Prices change all the time. The issue is being given clear advice by a staff member, relying on that advice, and then being told something entirely different afterwards.

Based on this experience, I would not recommend Georges Cameras. The process felt unnecessarily frustrating and, ultimately, the way it was handled completely undermined my confidence in purchasing from them.

Probably goes without saying, but I did end up purchasing from the alternate retailer at the lower price.

I bought a second-hand Sony lens from Georges Camera as a birthday present for my partner about a year ago. While the staff were very friendly and helpful at the time of purchase, I really regret choosing a second-hand lens rather than buying a new one.

Unfortunately, after only a few months and just a handful of uses, the lens suddenly stopped working and caused the camera to freeze.
I contacted Georges Camera for support, but was simply told that the lens only came with a 6-month warranty and that there was nothing they could do. I understand that the warranty had expired, but I was disappointed that there was no willingness to offer any assistance or solution, especially given how little the lens had actually been used.

Overall, a very disappointing experience. I would think twice before buying second-hand equipment from Georges Camera again.

Visited the Chatswood store late on Sunday to buy some dividers for an old camera bag. Left with a new Tenba backpack for a great price. Staff were very helpful and allowed me to look at multiple packs until I found the perfect one for my gear. Great experience, plenty of parking, relaxed atmosphere.

The over all experience was good, good quality products, the sales rep is commendable very accommodating and knowledgeable about the product and his. Shout out to him I forgot his name but im pretty sure he’s latino guy.

Fantastic service. I wanted to order 2 pairs of binoculars which I needed in very short time as we were leaving for holidays. I rang the store and they told me they had them in the Chatswood warehouse in stock. They walked my order through the process so it wasn't delayed and shipped them out that day express postage. Fantastic service.

I purchased my Nikon Z6 iii camera on Sunday night and it was on my desk on Wednesday. I live in regional NSW, so this was excellent. The service was fantastic and the pricing very good. The staff were fantastic. They knew the products they ranged and were able to narrow down the camera to a small shortlist. They patiently took me through the features and advantages of each which meant making a decision was really easy. If you are looking to buy a camera, you MUST visit these guys.
