Don’t bother, find something else

I purchased a Cortland travel cup as a replacement because I dropped my main work one on 9/28. The original still works but because of the wonky bottom it keeps falling off my desk at work. The replacement comes overnight from Amazon so I quickly wash it and fill it up with ice and water for the day. No sooner than I turned around to put the water pitcher, the outside is visibly dripping wet. There’s no way I can hold on to the bottle due to the condensation on the outside. 5 ice cubes in a 24 oz bottle of water was room temperature in an hour.

I fill out the claim form and follow their ridiculous instructions on Tuesday 10/1. I hear nothing for a week. When I email on 10/7 to ask the status of the claim, the customer service person replies back with “ice is supposed to melt, just add more. Oh and you should probably freeze the bottle before use and buy a neoprene sleeve so it doesn’t slip.” Nope, not doing any of those things because the 8 other Contigo bottles of varying sizes don’t require that or the additional purchasing of “accessories” to make my bottle function. I bought the bottle for the sole purpose of having cold water when I didn’t have access to water OR a freezer but yes “add ice” is a viable solution. Where am I supposed to get it, hmmm? This is clearly a sign that the integrity of the bottle was compromised during production or storage at Amazon. I wasted $27 and will be finding another company because Contigo lies and their customer service and products are crap.

The irony is that I was considering putting a claim in for a 16 oz west loop bottle that’s rusting around the lip as well because of the “lifetime warranty” because I had a whole conversation over the weekend with my hairdresser because the quality was great, they didn’t leak, they fit in cup holders, it stayed cold overnight. Not anymore, I’ll wait for the others to die and replace them with something else because I’m sure the customer service person will just respond with “user error” or something equally inane like “it’s okay you’re probably anemic, the rust is medicinal.” If you aren’t going to bother honoring the warranty, why have it? Just get rid of it as an option and tell your customers to throw away the bottles and stop wasting their time or money.

Good product suffers from company refusal to continue to sell replacement lids

The quality is usually high and many of their products come with a lifetime guarantee IF you have the original receipt. That lets out a lot of us, but I understand from a business standpoint. However, my reason for never buying another Contigo product is based on what I believe is a horrible customer service lack. Contigo sells and promotes the Auto deal lid with its stainless steel workhorse bottles. It works and really is leakproof. Until the lid fails. It wears out and will not maintain leakproof status. Also understandable. But they used to sell them. Now they don't! And they don't refer customers by sharing manufacturing info. They are near impossible to find. Always sold out when they are found. I now have 6 stainless steel bodies but all the lids leak. My main reason for buying these expensive bottles was bc of the leakproof feature. Ease of use with the West Autoseal lid is off the charts. But they are near useless if I can't find replacement lids. So I refuse to buy other models as the company has little care for giving their consumers value for their money.

My daily companion

This travel mug has become my daily companion, whether I'm at the office or at the gym. I really love it. Especially the fact that it keeps my tea warm for hours and can hold a large volume of it. The only issue I found is that sometimes there's a persistent smell in the thermos. For example I can smell the hibiscus tea I had the day before. No biggie though

Brought a contigo travel mug yesterday…

Brought a contigo travel mug yesterday as I’ve misplaced my normal travel mug, filled it for my journey to work and from the first sip released I’d made a big mistake, you cannot drink from the mug without burning your lips no matter how you try to put your mouth around it.
Appalling design not fit for purpose.

Contigo warranty and service

I’m a long time , multi product customer with many Contigo products. Based on recent purchases new Contigo products have a high failure rate. Contigo offer no parts and their NEW customer service / warranty position has become difficult and laborious to the extent it’s going to scare customers away from claiming. We’re talking about a v high profit $20 retail priced piece for Contigo, blown plastic with a couple of functioning parts .I’m pasting below my recent e-exchange with Contigo’s customer service , the only thing they don’t want you to supply is the DNA sequencing for the water bottle , ridiculous !!

We are sorry to hear that you are having an issue with one of our products. This is not the experience we want for our valued consumers and we would like to rectify this issue.

It would help us better understand how this issue occurred if you reply to the below questions:

- briefly explain the issue.
- How and when was the product cleaned?
- What liquids were used with the bottle?
- Was the product ever dropped?

Furthermore, in order for us to be able to proceed with the case please kindly provide us also with the following photos showing:

Full view of your product (body and lid together)
The bottom of the lid/body, showing the clock-like picture (manufacturing date code) & two-letter code (supplier code). Sometimes the photo might be blurry and therefore you can simply confirm the Manufacturing date code showed inside the clock-like (eg. 12/20) and the supplier code (eg. EL) via email message
Proof of purchase (if possible)

Important: If multiple products are affected, please provide as well a single front-view photo of all the containers with their lids side-by-side in one picture as well.

For archive and insurance purposes, at least one image should include the case reference number 45466009 clearly visible in the photograph alongside the item, handwritten on a piece of paper.

All the necessary documents should be sent as attachments (and not copied into the email) in one of the following formats: .png, .jpg, .pdf.

Please note that the maximum size of the attachments

Lastly, please provide your complete physical mailing address for verification, please kindly remember that this address cannot be a PO box.

Travel Mug

I'm using contigo travel mugs for a few years now and usually I love them for their convenience, but one concern is that the lately bought mugs are not keeping my beverages hot for a long period of time... my older mugs keep my hot coffee really warm for at least 8 hours... now my new bought mugs seems to cool my coffee down in about 2 to 3 hours and I'm not doing anything different what I'm doing with my older mugs... I hate to see the quality diminishing... they are still my favorite go-to travel mug... 🙂

10/10 for customer service

I’ve had the sports water bottles for nearly 3 years. I had an issue with the lids, the customer service team were 10/10 in dealing with my issue, even though the bottle was out of warranty. Still think it’s the best sports water bottle to use in the gym or need a quick drink during spin class.. Well done the customer service team.

So I just got back from Panama rentef…

So I just got back from Panama rentef a new car, was charged over 500 for 3 days!! There was a scuff on the inside of the door which was considered damage I bought the insurance which they said was not good for the inside I feel absolutely scammed and will be posting everywhere with bad reviews every month!!!!

Warranty, what warranty!?

I contacted Contigo regarding a leaking cup and provided photos, a copy of the receipt and an explanation of where the leak came from.

Even though I clarified that the leak wasn't coming from the spout/snap seal, Contigo quickly assumed that the lid was the issue, not the mug itself.

When I tried to explain this to them, they were not interested! I would go as far as to say they came across as arrogant and rude.

Suffice it to say that after receiving a replacement lid, the beaker still leaks!

Avoid and look to more reputable brands like Thermos.

Service exceptionnel

Mon expérience avec cette compagnie est très positive. J'avais un problème avec un produit acheté il y a plus de 10 ans et on m'a fait parvenir un produit de remplacement sans frais. Un service de cette qualité est exceptionnel. Je suis étonné de voir les commentaires négatifs au sujet du service à la clientèle de cette compagnie.

Full gardening day

Full gardening day and used this for the 1st time. As usual, I got engrossed in what I was doing and forgot about the coffee. Not a problem with this mug, it stayed hot for at least the 4 hours it took me to drink it. Brilliant!

Contigo good product bad company

You cannot buy a replacement lid for their West loop travel mugs. While I would rate this mug itself a 10 if you can't purchase a replacement lid what's the sense to spending $30 on a coffee cup. Contigo certainly dropped the ball on this one they have lost me as a customer forever. They will however be glad to sell you another cup for 28 bucks don't try to buy a lid

Excellent mugs and customer service

I've had 3 different types of contigo mugs over time and all have been excellent.
Had an issue with one where the bottom cap fell off, contacted contigo and they offered a free replacement, even though it was just out of warranty.

Poor quality

Poor quality! first bottle was liking, but it was comfortable to drink. Second bottle the spout was broken I think it was small hole somewhere and impossible to drink but one plus wasn’t liking.

westloop (x10) only cup I use

westloop x10. Yes hard to clean airlet but run hot water direct to point does well . deep clean often.
Yes had faulty and worn seals. bought 1 faulty had 2 the seals went over time but could be overtightened or not good enough or strong enough but which.
Now in contact with customer service today to ask if faulty cup or fake as this one seems to lose heat/cold many times quicker, more than the other 9, strange...
Used for every drink in the day/night and I would not have it any other way it save time/£ as no need to reboil or more ice .
EDIT, was 4 star now 1 as totally ignorant no word from email or review. CUP & LID FAULTY will buy different next time perhaps try AVEX.
