Visited to purchase a pair of walking shoes, had several in mind. Was helped by Arianna. She was brilliant engaging smiley and very helpful, think she brought 7 or 8 options in different sizes until I finally made up my mind. The Merrell Accentors seem to be perfect.

Extremely helpful till assistant but deeply disappointed with the floor (or store) manager. I was seeking to swap out a product and hoped for some latitude but rather than face the customer, he simply said no from around the corner. I felt for the store assistant who bore the brunt of my polite frustration. The manager (name withheld) showed no leadership or customer service ethos.

Visited Go Outdoors in Basingstoke today with a view to purchase the Berghaus Telstar 5 tent and accessories. We rang up before going to check if they had it on display and unfortunately they didn’t, however they had another tent that was very similar in size and shape that was set up on their tent field, so we were able to get a feel for what sort of space we would have. We were served by Anya at the till who was able to price match the tent and accessories to the slightly cheaper price that was being advertised on the Go Outdoors website. When we went to collect the tent we noticed that the 2 bags on the shop floor were damaged slightly so Anya was able to speak to her colleague Alex who very kindly bought another tent up from the stockroom downstairs after checking it was free from damage.

Overall great customer service from Anya and Alex - thank you! :)

I purchased a roof box specifically for a family trip to Yorkshire, only to discover that the keys were missing, leaving me unable to use it when I needed it.

I initially wondered whether the keys had somehow been misplaced after purchase. However, because I urgently needed a roof box for the trip, I ended up buying the exact same model from Halfords. Having now seen how the new box is packaged and supplied, I am confident there is no realistic way the keys were ever present in the GO Outdoors box when it was sold to me.

This caused completely unnecessary stress and inconvenience immediately before a family holiday, as well as requiring me to go elsewhere and purchase another box.

When you’re selling equipment like a lockable roof box, checking that something as fundamental as the keys are actually supplied should be basic quality control.

Really disappointing from GO Outdoors.

I was helped today by a lovely knowledgeable lady called Lynda - she made the whole shopping experience for gortex walking trainers, gortex jacket, waterproof trousers and some socks a relaxing and trouble free experience. So nice to have such good service in a large retail outlet. Thankyou Lynda - you took the stress out of my shopping trip.

Had reserved two bikes for our grandchildren which Terry then fitted them for. An excellent job which made the experience very easy and enjoyable

We had our first visit to Go Outdoors today and were served by Sophie N, who helped us find the right riding hat and boots for our daughter. Sophie was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and friendly, and provided excellent service throughout.
She made the whole experience so easy and enjoyable, especially as I had expected it to be more of a chore! Sophie was amazing and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed.
We will definitely be back!

Stock of everything you need. Massive store. Helpful staff. Membership is worth it with reasonable fee considering the sale prices
