We would like to thank Melanie Williams of Camberley Gascoigne Pees for all of her help. Although we used Purple Bricks to sell our house, we brought our new property through Gascoigne Pees. We had a huge lack of communication from Purple Bricks but Melanie at Gascoigne Pees kept us up to date, helped get us to exchange & was the person who actually informed us our chain was longer than originally informed. Purple Bricks could take a leaf out of Melanie's book for customer service, chasing & looking after clients. Many thanks Melanie!
Horsham branch
Horsham branch. Made a very good offer for a property, were then told there was another bidder, fine, and eventually to make our best and final offer. Four days passed with very little contact (and when there was, it was because we followed up). By the time they did get in touch, they let slip that our offer wasn't chosen, but a LOWER offer was chosen. And there was nothing we could do about it. Feels like probably the other bidder was also with G-Ps and they've been funny about how they've handled the sale (does the owner even know? We're immediately ready to move, no chain etc.).
Basically, just cover yourself when making offers, don't be too enthusiastic with how interested you are, remain neutral as much as possible because I think they use that intel to their own advantage. This whole situation with them has made me not want to consider properties with their name attached.
Worst Experience Ever with Gascogne Pees Kingston Branch
I had the worst experience ever using Gascogne Pees to fully manage my property. They consistently chose the more expensive contractors who did not deliver good service and failed to honor warranties. After 4 years of their management, my property was in a dire state. I ended up spending over £20,000 on repairs and restoration. The staff, from lettings to property management, were unhelpful, rude and ineffective. Never again.
Worst organised letting company
Worst organised letting company. I have several properties that I use letting agents to manage. By far, Gascoigne-Pees are the worst. They charge for everything despite me paying for full managed property they make additional charges for anything they do. They consistently fail to do anything that they say they will do. Their different departments don't communicate with each other. They give letting/estate agents a bad name.
Disappointing Unacceptable Service
I cannot recommend Gascoigne-Pees, Leatherhead branch, after six months I am convinced that they were the wrong choice to sell my property. I definitely did not feel valued. When I decided to end the Agency Agreement, on 28/11/2024, I was completely ignored. After two visits to the branch I managed to get an acknowledgement. However, on the second visit (19/12/2024), the Assistant Branch Manager, was completely unapologetic. In my opinion his manner was offensive, rude and unprofessional. I left the office feeling very upset and physically shaken.
I have awarded them one star for the fact, that I did receive an apology from their Customer Relations Officer.
Farnham branch
This company in Farnham has let our property for many years. Unfortunately now they seem to be complacent and we have to chase them for property checks to be carried out as per our contact. Once they finally did the check we are still waiting 3 weeks later for their findings. Also we have rung them throughout the day and left messages in their phone but they never bother to ring us back. They seem to have lost interest and we are rapidly losing patience.We would not recommend this branch of the company.

From the day we contacted them for the rental viewing and till we confirmed the property, the lettings team was always there to help us with all the queries / multiple viewings. Loved the way we were welcome to the property when we moved in. Special mention to Ben and Jemma from Esher office.

Excellent Service
The agency was very helpful, they have provided us with all the information we needed. The agents we were dealing with got back to us very quickly with any queries we had (Jemma & Ben). The whole process of moving in has been very smooth and easy, could not have asked for anything more.
Delays returning deposit
We vacated a property rented though Gascoigne Pees in Guildford - 6th Sept. It's now almost a 1 x month and we still yet to receive our deposit credited back to us. There was a small deduction that had to be agreed with the landlord as a few minor areas were missed during the professional clean.
Standard practice is that your deposit is returned within 10 x days of leaving the property.
Whilst we still await the return of the balance of our deposit £1,700 balance, in our experience dealing with Gascoigne Pees Guildford you should expect the following:
Communication with the Guildford branch is very poor. They simply don't return calls or even respond unless you chase.
You should expect to have to chase over and over again, by emails or calls. We waited up to four days without getting any response to messages or emails.
Through-out any communication we've had regardless of how unfair the situation is they always favour the landlord.
In summary, if you are choosing to rent through them be prepared for your deposit to take up to a month (or longer) for it to be returned back to you. Hopefully ours will come soon.

Worst experience! Unprofessional staff and management!
I’ve booked a viewing with this company, took day off from work and my partner did so as well, waited for someone to show up more than 30 minutes but no one came.
Tried to contact them several times but had no answer. The second day they told me the viewing was canceled, however they never told me it was cancelled, there was no message, no email, no voice mail, nothing.
There is no way a company would have such an attitude towards clients.
Definitely not going to use them ever again. Same properties are listed by other companies so highly recommended to avoid Gascoigne Pees.
Warning - avoid this company at all costs!!
Tom is extremely unprofessional and dishonest. We accepted an offer back in May from a buyer on the basis that the buyer was a cash purchaser. We were then told in July that this was not the case and he was applying for a mortgage. Only when we were ready to exchange and complete in August the buyers solicitors informed us that the buyer had a related transfer of equity, unbelievable. We were told it could take up to 6 months to sort out. We were very disappointed about being kept in the dark about this so late in the transaction. Had we been privy to this we would not have accepted the offer in the first place.
We are very disappointed that Gascoigne Pees failed to disclose the buyers circumstances and allowed us to accept an offer under misrepresentation. Failing to check funding as part of the basics of accepting an offer. We had packed 90% of our belongings and hired a removal company and paid £2,000 and unbeknown to us the buyer had a related transfer of equity all along and that it could take the buyer 6 months to get their name removed from the deeds. This left us in a very vulnerable position. We lost our onwards purchase and the house we loved so much.
We tried to cancel our contract and were told by Tom that we had to give 28 days notice. We asked as a gesture of goodwill if they could release us from the contract without the notice and this was declined as we were told we would be breaching the contract. My husband tried to reason with them and Tom accused him of bribery.
Absolutely unbelievable and would never use again.
Stay away from using this company. Absolutely diabolical. We would’ve given 0 stars but this wasn’t an option.
Outstanding Service
Harj, the Lettings Manager, is an outstanding member of staff who went out of his way to help me during a particularly difficult and challenging period.
Communication was poorly, and the description of the property wasn't correct
The description of the property didn't mention no children at all, it even said that those with children it had schools nearby, I think the communication was very poor, and should be stated in the description no children to avoid waste of time.

I wished to sell my property in Maidenhead and David from Gascoigne Pees came to my property.
He carefully explained exactly how the agency worked. He did give me great confidence that he and the team would be enthusiastic with regard to promoting my property and hence agreed instruction immediately.
I was very pleased that a regular stream of viewings were made. Rayanne too was always enthusiastic about my property and always followed up viewings promptly giving me feedback. Received and accepted an offer within three months.
Thomas, the manager , was great at ensuring completion came through on agreed timeline.

pushy, bordering on harassment
They are extremely pushy and have been making repeated phone calls trying to get our business despite repeated requests for them to leave us alone. If they can be this unpleasant and unprofessional when they’re trying to entice you in, what will they be like once you’re hooked in? Don’t do it!

They will contact you every minute till they complete the agreement later they don't even complete what they have promised to do. After sales service is hopeless and unprofessional. Never recommend
Unprofessional and dishonest.
We called their office about a property advertised online. The woman who answered said the property was no longer available. This property has been advertised by them at least for a few weeks while at the same time actually not on the market any more. When we asked why still advertised the woman hunged up the call.
Unprofessional and pushy
Extremely unprofessional estate agency - south west London area. I literally felt harassed on the telephone to provide my email and phone number when I was only enquiring about a property, not even trying to view it. It was a man on the other end and he made me feel very uneasy. I will not be looking at properties with them ever since they would have my home address too. It's an appalling industry.
