After ordering at the end of November - still have no shelves. Managed to get through once to someone and he claimed they were sending it. Utter conmen

Avoid, awful company, seems like the office staff are totally incompetent. Wasted a month waiting for shelves only for them to be cancelled despite numerous times aying they were "on with them". Don't risk your money.

Not unexpectedly this company is unable to make the distinction between an error and incompetence. We all make errors but are not by definition incompetent.
Feel free to read other reviews you will see I was one of the lucky ones. Don't risk your money, instead do kas I did and order from Shelfs Direct. My shelf will be delivered today, ahead of schedule.

I was wary of ordering from here after reading the negative reviews so I contacted Tom by email before placing my first order - I placed orders for floating shelves in June 2019 and February 2020 - The shelves that I have received from him are beautiful. To be honest I don't think he is the most organised guy in the world as my first order did get sent to the wrong address initially - but this was sorted out within a week, and because the shelves were so good it didn't stop me placing a second order with him. There were no problems with my second order and I am about to place my third order with him.

Received my rustic oak shelves in under a week. Lovely piece of wood. Good quality and sturdy. Will buy from these guys again.

Seller cancelled my order after waiting for a month. Apparently I ordered in cm rather than mm and despite them knowing this they decided to just cancel my order. Didnt issue a refund after I emailed so I had to open a dispute on PayPal before eventually getting my money back. Shockingly poor customer service avoid.

Same as other users. Shelves haven't arrived after 6 months and will not answer calls, messages or email. don't purchase from these guys, they are not serious.

i would like to review this product but i can't as nothing has arrived. You can view the status of your order but it hasn't changed since i made my order over 2 months ago, no communication, no updates. As others have said they haven't answered my messages. They took payment and then nothing. i remain hopeful that i will receive my shelves and i will update my review at that point....come on Green Oak Man.

Ordered shelves and told wrong size so they will refund and to please re-order. Fine.

They have not answered emails, phone calls or replies to voice emails for clarification. We have not had our money refunded so do not want to make any more orders from them.

Do not use

Ordered an oak suspended shelf. Took a while to arrive, but worth the wait - a beautiful piece of timber. However, no fitting instructions supplied. When I tried to fit the shelf, I managed to shear off one of the fitting bolts. Tried to ask Green Oak Man for advice. Like others, I found it impossible to get any response, whether by text, phone, e-mail or message to the website. Eventually I actually visited the workshop (address given on the website). Even then, had to go back after an hour or so to find anyone there. Talked to both Tom and a colleague of his, who were both very helpful and between them identified the simplest solution, which was to cut a new slot in the shelf. Tom then cut the new slot while I waited and gave me a replacement bolt. I was also given the critical advice to lubricate the bolts with Vaseline before screwing them into the rawplugs. Shelf now fitted and looks beautiful. Lessons learnt:
1. Don't order a suspended shelf from Green Oak Man unless you know how to install it.
2. Don't expect to be able to communicate with Green Oak Man other than by physically visiting the workshop. Even then, be prepared to set aside several hours.

Bought 3 shelves from them. I read reviews here so called them as I was suspicious. They answered immediately and were really knowledgeable. Shelves arrived and they are fantastic. No faults from me so 5 stars.

I tried to phone the company several times. They never answered the phone. I left a voice mail. They never bothered to reply. I wrote them an e-mail asking them to get it touch. Again, they never replied.

All I can assume is that they don't want any business. So pleased I realised what they were like, before placing an order on line. Needless to say, I went elsewhere.

I ordered 2 shelves over 2 months ago from Green Oak Man, and am still not in a position to put them up. I thought this was a suitable juncture to review the product and their service.

- Communication: Initially, terrible. I had no order confirmation email, and heard nothing for 2 weeks. The telephone number on the website just placed you in a queue that no one answered. No one responded to the emails either. I assumed I’d been swindled, but managed to find an email linked to the PayPal account. I have been in communication with Green Oak Man for the last 6 weeks using this email. They do reply to emails, although they need constant pestering. Often I have to send 2 or 3 messages before they will respond. Most recently, I have sent 4 emails over 2 weeks, and still no response.

- Speed of Delivery: Several weeks for the shelves, and no indication of lead time provided. It then took a couple of weeks for the extra parts to arrive for hanging the shelves.

- Product Quality: The shelves are very solid, and seem like good quality wood. Visually, they look really good too and the measurements are spot on for the sizes I ordered. There was a slight blemish where the wood had splintered (possibly during planing?), but it has been filled and smoothed. It doesn’t show too much, so I’m not particularly bothered.

- Shelf installation: This has been the biggest issue. The parts sent to me to hang the floating shelves on the wall were not those described on the installation instructions on the website. It quickly became apparent that the ones sent were not going to be suitable for hanging the shelves. After a few emails back and forth, Green Oak Man called me up and I explained the issue. I was then sent some new parts to hang the shelves, although these took at least a couple of weeks to arrive. I am still awaiting instructions of how to hang the shelves, and despite numerous emails I’m not getting a response. It appears I need to cut a threaded bar up into individual lengths, but I’m loathed to do this until I know how long they need to be.

- Customer service: generally poor. I certainly don’t feel like a valued customer, and no one has apologised for the on-going saga. Not replying to email again does not make me feel like they value my custom.

Overall, very poor. It should have been a quick order that was easy to install myself, but it’s been over 2 months since and I still can’t put the shelves up. The website even states how easy it is to install them. I have had to do all the chasing, and yet still haven’t had resolution. If I had known how difficult this was going to be, I would never have ordered these shelves in the first place. In my view, steer well clear of Green Oak Man.
