I was introduced to Grove, via my IFA, who could not conduct the business transaction I was looking to undertake, a defined benefit pension transfer, to personal pension drawdown.

This has risk attached to it, specifically the loss of guaranteed income at retirement age and moving to an environment without guarantee. My pension funds now being at the mercy of investment markets and fluctuating annuity rates. However, the additional flexibility to my personal circumstances and objectives this is the correct route for me.

Grove where totally professional in testing my objectives and testing my understanding of the implications of my actions. They discussed at length my objectives and considered other options and possibilities, before making their recommendation.

They guided my expectations and exceeded these on time scales. Their communication by phone and email, never left me in any doubt and I never felt the need to chase them.

Overall Grove never over promised or underdelivered, I was always confident in their communication. Would I use them again, yes i very much intend to

Its clear that not everyone has the same experience but there is also no doubt (from some of the FAKE reviews here) that ONLY LEGAL ACTION will get firms like Grove to adhere to their legally binding regulatory requirement of ACTING IN THE BEST INTERESTS OF THEIR CLIENTS. Grove consistentlty and NEGLIGENTLY do not care about esuring that they meet the target date of a Guaranteed Pension Valuation and consistently miss this date - causing pointless revaluations and losses of tens of thousands of pounds to their clients. There ONLY interest is generating fees as profit of £5MILLION last year proved!!! Grove Pension Solutions fully understood my aims and were able to offer their impartial advice and recommendations in a minefield of the world of pensions. They were able to assist with meeting my requirements and were professional and knowledgeable at all times. Correspondence and progress updates were issued regularly

I heard Grove Pension Services (GPS) were good & I didn't realise they would be a perfect fit for my Financial Service.
They informed me of the process & true to their word. I had a named advisor throughout whom firmly held my hand to guide me through. My advisor, like clockwork contacted me every 2 weeks & replied to every email within a short time.
I cannot speak highly enough of their service as they are brilliant. I have several different members of staff for different parts of the process & they were all lovely, just like my advisor.
I don't write reviews nor do I advise anyone via this forum but GPS have been & are EXCELLENT!

Extremely grateful to Grove Pension Solutions who transferred my deferred pension which I had been unable to do with other pension companies. They were very polite and professional from start to finish explaining everything in away I could understand. Bluebelle handled my case and she was so easy to keep in contact with phone or email and she would keep me updated weekly. Overall I was very satisfied with the service I received.

It has taken me a while to write this review, however, I feel that I need to raise awareness that if you have a complaint that you raise with this company, you will be left feeling ignored and to some extent cheated.
The background to the complaint with GPS was a pension move of over £1m.
The good points were the reasonable transfer costs, the reviews that were completed and the initial communication.
Were things came completely unstuck and ended up costing me considerably financialy, was the preparation of the transfer packs that were sent out and the checking of the packs when received back. You actually get very little guidance on the pack you have to fill in, but when something is missing from it, you have no idea it's missing. Although two packs were received back buy them, in the same envelope, I was not informed that something was missing from one of them in good time, this led to a considerable delay on one of the pensions and a large financial loss.
Now the crux of the 1 star review. I appreciate that things can go wrong and that processes and procedures don't always work, even in the best companies. However, after escalating my complaint to Susanna the Compliance Manager, her customer service skills left a lot to be desired, one particular telephone conversation where my I and my wife where both on with Susanna, was probably the worst call I've had with a company, and that's after 35 years in professional business. I also spoke with Tim, one of the Directors. Good conversation but he then just redelegated the complaint to Susanna. If you are going to have a complaints process, have people that can handle it, not people who's strength lies in other areas of the business.
In summary. Did they do the job asked of them? Yes. Did they do it well? No. Do they have an internal complaints team? No. Are you called a liar as a customer paying them £1000's? Yes
Would I recommend them? Well, I certainly wouldn't use them again

Grove were incredibly helpful throughout the whole process and very prompt in responding to any queries. I’d have no difficulty in recommending them. Very professional.

Grove took on my personal needs with my pension and were supportive and constructive in achieving what i needed to happen

Grove pensions were excellent and very professional in the advice offered. They helped me move all my pensions into one place and helped overcome some of the very strict requirements pension schemes place on their members.

Communicated clearly with me through the whole pension transfer process, which at times was challenging.
Bluebelle who was my contact point was always quick to respond to any questions I had and would come back to me if she had to sought further advice regarding my transfer.

Communication is paramount when dealing with financial issues and Grove were brilliant. If I couldn't answer an e mail, I could call someone who would explain the whole e mail and answer any questions I had. This is rare these days with companies such as Grove.

Grove Pension Solutions were very professional in handling a very difficult pension transfer for me, keeping me informed every step of the way, their staff are helpful and knowledgeable and I would recommend their services without hesitation.

My wife and myself have used Grove several times with the transfer of our pensions and have always had great service, always kept up to date either by email or phone and very professional throughout all aspects of our transfers.

If you’re planning on doing a final salary pension transfer. I highly recommend Grove they give great service and keep in touch with you.

Grove Pensions allowed me to fulfil a very long ambition to transfer my ex-pru work pension into a personal pension plan an secure its massive fund value against my or even wifes premature death so our kids could benefit fully from the return of fund etc.

Initially applied for a pension transfer mid March 2022 with Grove, upon recommendation from my financial advisor. Constantly fobbing me off and having to ‘prove’ that I will manage the money wisely (MY money, MY pension). Time lapses are unjustifiable and constantly chasing for updates. Had to pursue another CETV which has now cost me thousands in decreased value. Nearly 9 months of dragging their feet and making me feel like my own opinions were worthless. Today told that;
‘Transferring your …. UK Pensions Plan could make you significantly worse off, and you have limited other pensions provisions in the background’ (I have a substantial NHS pension and full pension contributions) and I am currently paying into a local government pension fund.
‘There is a chance that by transferring you could exhaust this pot of money. Therefore, there will be nothing left for your children in the future’, (unjustified and patronising. If upon my untimely death, before pensionable age, the pension dies with me and my children will get nothing regardless!).
‘Due to the significant reduction in your transfer value, there is no urgency to transfer at this time and to accept this very low offer.’
Minutes later I get a client closure form via email. I will pursue my treatment further and advise anyone using this firm to proceed with caution.

Started from Abridged advise in March 2022, provided the full transfer packs from my 2 old pensions. Had lots of questions and endless emails, very very slow process. They had all the information to provide me with some advise....but blamed my old company for being slow...when it was them all along!
I even stepped in and provided the information they were after. By July received the report, the transfer value had by then expired, Requested another transfer value, which had lost thousands of pounds from the original transfer value. Carried on to the full advise stage.....costly mistake, large mistake made on the figure for the transfer value!! the report had been threw compliance twice....such an incompetent company!! They only use Royal London, with large fees....as an insistent client apparently, wont use anyone you recommend, hence decided not go ahead with the transfer as I honestly have NO FAITH IN GROVE to complete the transfer without huge mistakes and huge fees, and i am sure they would have missed yet another transfer value date. All in all VERY STRESSFULL EXPERIENCE, I wish I had approached another company, who would have been faster and not missed the original transfer value date.
All this grief at a cost of £2950!! Will be raising a complaint....but I am sure GROVE will wiggle out of that as well.
