Pension transfer
Grove Pension Solutions oversaw my pension transfer with fine professionalism. The process went to the wire with the transfer going through on the very last day of the three-month deadline for my valuation. Although this was a stressful time Grove reassured me that the transfer would go through in time which it eventually did.
Overall I was very satisfied with the service and would have no hesitation in recommending the company.

Pension transfer
I have found the whole team at Grove efficient, professional and most helpful. My phone calls were always answered promptly and messages forwarded if unable to be transferred, and my calls returned. I would particularly like to mention Dan Hubbard, Erin and Lucy, who have been especially helpful and patient - explaining the process, chasing my provider and keeping me informed. Well done Team Grove.

Unbelievably outstanding
Over the last few years I have used Grove for the amalgamation of my pensions and the yearly drawdown.
The service from the start has been immensely professional and gives you confidence at a time which can be quite worrying.
I have been allocated two ladies over the last years , both have been amazing , the customer service has been outstanding, every single step is always explained , every question answered and as importantly when I was advised an email or telephone call would happen, it happened. Not once have i ever been left hanging waiting , responces are clear and understandable. Time lines are realistic and achievable.
Chantel my current Client handler ( not sure if that's the correct title) has been amazing, especially during the lockdown.
Any amazing , professional and outstanding company.

Poor service told that they were…
Poor service told that they were dealing with large amount of work however i had been on there work load months earlier i did most of the chasing only to receive letter after letter explaining i would be contacted .Was referred by my financial advisor during the beginning August 2019 had confirmation of transfer 11March 2020 over severn months
My application i was informed should have been strait forward as i am a widower and no complications in my request. my financial advisor kept ringing as well saying this is taking to long and i myself said that had i realised how poor the service was would have gone somewhere else but as i was now approaching Retirement i could not go to someone else (even said i would go to the ombudsman) cost me over £6000 any other business would be out of business however after my monies have now been transferred
I tried to forget GROVE however trust pilot brought back the memory

Thank you for your feedback Mr Tooth. We are sorry to hear that you feel you have not received the best service from Grove as we always aim to provide such however, timescales for processing something as complex as pension transfers are somewhat out of our control. This is because we are reliant on replies from your old scheme to provide all the information that we MUST have to ensure you are provided with appropriate advice. In this respect, schemes are allowed to take up to three months to respond with the information and your scheme actually took two months after you initially came to us. We tried to keep both you and your IFA updated throughout the process both verbally and in writing (some of which were initiated by you, your IFA and by ourselves).
Schemes are also allowed to take up to a further three months, from receipt of the completed transfer forms, to transfer the monies and, despite a busy Christmas period, your transfer was completed within 4 weeks of submitting the forms.
With regards to the cost of our service, we confirmed our fee, both verbally and in writing, before you made your decision to proceed and only around half of the total cost was our fee, the other half was paid to your existing IFA who would have also agreed this with you beforehand.
We do endeavour to process cases as quickly as possible, within the requirements of our regulator, but, unfortunately, advising on pension transfers can be an extremely complicated and lengthy process, no matter what the circumstances are.

Grove Pension Solutions - Transfer of DB Pension Plans
Our overall dealings with Grove Pension Solutions were very good, although there were times I had to contact them to chase up a status report. The bulk of the problems were however largely due to short comings from my original DB pension provider.

Was not as good as it could have been.
Different advisers and different advice did make it a confusing, but they are good in keeping you informed. However, took a lot longer to sort out than a different company we used for my husbands pension so because I had something to compare with felt the service wasn’t as good as it could be.

We take our advice process very seriously and are disappointed to hear that you feel you received conflicting advice from differing advisers. We can see that you were initially receiving advice from one adviser and that when you contacted us with a query, the original adviser you spoke to was unavailable. In light of this, we decided to put you through to a more senior adviser so that you did not need to wait for an answer. We do take your comments on board and are sorry this caused you some confusion.
We cannot comment on the practices of other companies but we can assure you that we strive to provide the best service possible. Due to unprecedented demand we acknowledge that this has caused some delays. We can only apologise that you felt we took longer on comparison and your feedback will help us to improve our service in future.

Took an age to sort out
Took an age to sort out. I even obtained the transfer values in advance. They incorrectly recorded my may ins number and in the end I had to contact the pension provider to get it sorted out. Very poor.

We are disappointed to hear that you are not happy with our services and that you found them to be ‘Very poor’. Although you provided us with your basic transfer value in advance, there was additional information we had to obtain from your pension scheme to enable us to run our reports and provide thorough, professional and accurate advice, this takes time. As a specialist in DB transfers, we are rightly bound by FCA regulations and are therefore, extremely strict with this and will not proceed without it, no matter what shortcuts someone might want us to take for the sake of time. I’m sure you wouldn’t want us to proceed without ALL the information we need as the outcome for you could be that we give you the wrong advice, because we had insufficient information, and then you could suffer significant financial loss.
You were introduced to us by your original financial advice firm because they were unable to carry out this type of specialist advice, unfortunately when we received documentation from them, the National Insurance number they provided for you was incorrect, we were obviously not aware it was wrong, hence the confusion.
Advising on pension transfers is an extremely complicated and lengthy process, however, I do note that your funds were transferred within three and half months of your initial enquiry which to be honest, is relatively quick, even more so in these unprecedented times where demand has increased two fold, particularly towards the back end of last year when your enquiry came in.
