Being involved in divorce, a meeting was requested to give advice and opinion on an Agreement. This was handled professionally in answering all of the questions presented.

We used GWCA in LIttlehampton to write simple mirror wills as they were local and recommended for wills. We dealt with Elise Mason who was offhand and rude, we were sent the drafts twice (errors were corrected and minor changes made) - both had different typing errors that should have been spotted eg my brother's name spelled differently the two times he was mentioned. Clauses that Which? online said should be present were not and it took some effort to get an explanation why. Even the final version needed a manual correction (that had to be initialled) as my half of the estate was stated to be left to my husband's siblings instead of mine (he only has a sister, not the list of 3 shown in the will). We paid for an hour interview but only got half an hour, and when we did the final signing we were unexpectedly told we had to pay immediately by debit card. We were not prepared for this (it was £600), as we were expecting an invoice and to use our credit card, so we questioned it and EM said very slowly to us, drawing out each syllable as if we were idiots 'deb' 'it' 'card', and called in a colleague to take the payment with a card machine, who recorded it in an old notebook and only gave us a machine receipt. We were in shock and did not comment, and for the following 10 days (while we waited to receive the final wills, thankfully with a proper receipt) I began to wonder if she demanded a debit card and gave no receipt because she wanted to keep the money for her own account! DO NOT USE THIS FIRM!

Purchase of land , 2 years down the road £3k out of pocket, solicitors to and throw with emails , taking weeks to reply, big let down and waste of time and money and no land , I sold a house in 2016 , went through in 8 weeks, avoid as all costs and research another solicitor that works for there customers, would not recommend or ever use again

The most appalling service from this office. Gemma Rowland was acting as executor to my late Aunts estate. Herself and her rude abrupt secretary were never there, the whole process has been dragging on for 18months now, still not had closure and her property was sold in August. No hurry as this law firm likes to squeeze every penny out including interest on top their greedy fees.They do not reply to emails and have not communicated well at all and caused a major family fall out by sending copies of the new Will to us before the funeral. My Aunt will be turning in her grave watching how you have orchestrated this whole process with your own greedy gains the heart of her legacy. I will shout from the roof tops about your incompetence. You Should be ashamed of yourselves … especially as she can’t pull you up on it from the grave. P.S check Trust Pilot for the true extent of this Company’s negative reviews.

I've wasted nearly 2 years dealing with GWCA. They don't provide clarity along the way. Say they're going to do one thing then don't do it. Give you false hope to keep you with them.

This company truly seems to believe they are a law unto themselves. Communication with customers is virtually non-existent — both during the contractual process and afterwards.

They initially provided a clear quote, only to double the cost without any prior notice or explanation. The justification? It was suddenly deemed a “complex” case, supposedly requiring an additional phone call — something that was never mentioned before.

Throughout the entire process, responses were painfully slow and difficult to obtain. We were even asked to confirm our identities not just once, but again three months later — a clear sign that nothing had been properly progressed in the meantime.

To this day, communication remains completely absent. Overall, a deeply frustrating and disappointing experience that has left us feeling ignored and misled.

This is taking its toll on my mental health. Having to wait weeks before they make contact or even an acknowledgement - a process that is meant to be a happy one has left a sour experience with deep shame to myself.

I used GWCA Solicitors for conveyancing when I bought my leasehold flat. The seller fully disclosed a kitchen extension and GWCA flagged the lease required freeholder consent — but they failed to secure this or warn me of the consequences.

Years later, this has cost me over £1,900 for a surveyor and licence and £5,000 off my sale price due to delays. When I raised a complaint, they told me the file was destroyed and dismissed my concerns without asking for any supporting evidence.

I feel the poor advice at the time and dismissive handling now shows a lack of care and responsibility for a clear issue. I have had to escalate this to the Legal Ombudsman. I hope this helps others check carefully if using this firm for leasehold conveyancing.

We engaged Natasha Waygood to assist with a flat purchase. The purchase took over 6 months as she didn't understand the lease and kept asking the sellers pedantic, irrelevant queries. In the end she made a report to the lenders which meant that we had to withdraw from the purchase as the lender put restrictions on the mortgage. We asked Emma Chatwell and Edward Kinch to assist Natasha but they didn't respond. We still received a large bill for their time! The service and outcome couldn't have been worse.

I just bought through GWCA Lancing. Nigel Brazier was my conveyancer and as soon as papers came in within 24 hours I had my report. I found him to be efficient and very much on my side. I can't imagine how many other jobs he must be taking on at the same time but he almost always had time to talk when I needed to call and always explained things to me for my peace of mind. I would highly recommend although I have no experience of other offices.

Stay clear- absolutely appalling service and just interested in how much they can take from you. Complaints procedure a complete waste of time

A special mention to Emma Chatwell. I was always kept up to date throughout the whole transaction, everything was explained thoroughly and Emma’s work was carried out professionally and efficiently. There were no delays and thanks to Emma & her team I had a very smooth house move. I highly recommend GWCA, thank you all for such a friendly and successful service.

If you would like to hand over your money for not much in return then these guys are for you. No response to emails, telephone calls and when eventually a trickle of “advice” filters through, it’s months too late, poor in quality and very much over-priced. If your experience is like mine, you will have to instruct other solicitors to rectify their mistakes. Avoid – which pretty much describes their communication skills.

We chose the Worthing office of this company for help with family law.At our initial consultation we were asked to pay £500 up front towards writing a letter on our behalf.After that,we heard nothing and everything had to be chased.Not just the actual letter but also finding out the final amount due .Even when I complained to Mr Dickson (Complaints Manager) the partner concerned still took days to contact us.Although Mr Dickson was apologetic,no apology was recieved from the partner concerned.Have previously used this company for Conveyancing( problematic and got a large reduction in fees) and also our Wills,but won't be using them in future.

My father recently passed away on the 10th dec 2023. He had appointed BBMW LIMITED who are part of this firm as executors and had written his will. To this day they have never contacted or made any effort to inform myself or my sister of our father's death ,we only found out through a third party step child of our fathers second wife.
We even emailed the company and received a reply to say they had received our email but staff were not available untill after xmas but never bothered to contact us.
We phoned the company and reception staff were vague ,rude and generally not interested, even stating that if we were not mentioned in a will they wouldnt be interested in talking to us anyway !!

I suggest to anyone this firm are not a caring compassionate group of people and couldnt care less about you as a person especially when your grieving and money being their motivation not your feelings !

I used Edward Kinch for conveyancing. Contact was easy and seamless - I was kept well informed at each stage of the sale. No problems at all - can highly recommend

We used Nigel Brazier to conveyance my late mother's property. Nigel was extremely efficient, communicated clearly set a clear timetable. The house had not been registered with the land registry, and when our first buyer's solicitor insisted we should do this, Nigel provided excellent and clear advice. He then recommended a solicitor that would not be scared of first registration and when we quickly got new buyers helped drive everything through quickly. He then charged the original quote for one completed sale as the work done on the aborted sale was all reused. Thoroughly reccomend.

I instructed Mr. Dickson and his team, where I was the claimant in a personal injury case and managed to secure the result I desired. All involved demonstrated a level of utmost professionalism and commitment that put me at ease during such a challenging time. Most importantly, my case was by no means straightforward and was nearing limitation; nevertheless, Mr. Dickson took on my instruction.

I used their services for a straightforward Remortgage. In a word I ‘trusted’ them. What a mistake it has cost us thousands & I mean thousands of pounds and many hours of worry and sleepless nights. We are taking action against this firm to recover our money. I assumed Solicitor meant they were acting on our behalf. We should have walked away when we saw open files strewn around their Lancing Offices. Admitting they have made a mistake is not in their DNA. Take my advice find another firm of Solicitors. It’s the first time I’ve not used our usual Brighton Solicitors. I expected the same level of communication and service. How wrong could I have been!!! Their attitude rather than ‘put their hand up’ has been one of maximum delay and it’s the Clients fault. Don’t believe for one minute this firm is in your ‘corner’. It is not the behaviour you would expect from a firm of Solicitors. To busy, poor client communication and attention to detail are the headline problems!

We used GWCA’s conveyancing services to sell our home and buy another. The service was excellent. Colin Edmonds was superb, very quick to update us and always easily contactable. We had a few bumps in the road during the process and Colin was very supportive and practical. His colleagues were also very helpful whenever I called the office. I will definitely use them again if I move in future.
