It was easy and quick to get and to return the car. Good price

Pick up and drop off was quick and efficient.

Got the vehicle I reserved and it was clean.

I rent regularly from this location. The staff is good, but there always seems to be a wait to be served. I guess I’m used to fast service at the airport locations.

When picking up the car I was told I may be able to get a ride to the train station (about 3 blocks from the Hertz location). When returning the car I was told I could not. There appeared to be no interest nor attempt to help. Me and my travelling partner each had suitcases and we are both over 80. I feel there should have been at lest attempt to give us a ride.

LaborDay weekend..The Hertz on George St New haven
was filthy trash &dirt throughout the business (I have video), I was ignored when I walked in a guy came in after some time No uniform No badge No hello,No may?.. I just ID& card.he didn't speak to me he spoke to a guy standing to the side of him. I didn't know he was talking about my contract when he was talking to the guy I said if that's about my rental it didn't give me option to remove insurance ONLINE he continued to ignore me & speak to coworker as he gave him keys the coworker then walked outside I followed him(NO ONE EXPLAINED ANYTHING) to the dirty suv where he took pictures of outside when I opened the door the suv was dirty I pointed out dirt in cupholders,floors&seats, white stuff on backseat sporks etc.(I have video) the guy with keys shrugged his shoulders & pointed yes pointed as to go tell them in the office where I was ignored with attitude as if he was scared I was running late getting back to work..then when I had time I tried to make complaints & that wasn't easy it was VERY DIFFICULT &annoying while I was trying to enjoy the trip so I put off making complaints this was horrible on top of the Ezpass unlimited fee hertz keeps hitting me when travel with my own is ridiculous..the express drop off wasn't bad the young lady greeted me as soon as I walked in but
this was my last time renting from Hertz ..I DIDN'T USE ANYONE'S NAME BECAUSE NO ONE NEVER GAVE THEIR NAMES..writing this is making me upset all over again normally I would have went elsewhere but it was to late & would have lost to much $$

I had to wait to pick-up and to drop-off and the car I that reserved was unavailable. This is de-riguer for non-airport locations of any rent-a-car agency on holiday weekends. You'd think that they would've figured out how to resolve these issues by now.

Got an upgrade to a really comfortable, nice smaller SUV. Made the trip really pleasant. All of the people who work here are super friendly and knowledgeable.

The customer service was great - did not have to wait very long even though it was a small office.

The car was perfect, but there was incorrect charge in the end. After talking to customer service, the issue was resolved and I was refunded.

The process of getting the car in New Haven was quick and easy. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and thorough. It's a small satellite office so limited cars but it did the trick for what I needed.

The New Haven local on George St. never answered the telephone on several occasions when I selected talk to an employee. Aside from that the Kia was a nice car.

Initial deposit was not refunded on original card when payment card was changed due to technical issues with card reader at Hertz location at pickup. $206.32 deposit was charged on Jun 6 on card ending in -8320 w $159.44 due on pickup. $393.00 was charged on Jun 26 to card ending in -6878 and $71.00 was charged on 06/29 to card ending in -6878. Total rental was quoted as $365.76 and Hertz charged me a total of $670.32, $304.56 more than expected.

Location is NOT in New Haven Amtrak Station as described, but is several blocks away. The Hertz location never answers their phone. The Hertz website never lets you modify the reservation. I had to call the national number, which I had to Google, because it is nowhere to be found on their website and which is 1-800-654-3131, should YOU need it.

When I picked up the car,
- Exterior had not been cleaned (bugs all over the front).
- Interior had not been cleaned (food on upholstery).
- Soup had been spilled all over the trunk floor.
- The car smelled of vomit (not making this up).
- Car was only half full when picked up (electric car charge).

The car did function properly for the duration of the rental, so that's one good thing, but the high standard of quality that I previously could count on from Hertz has certainly gone downhill over the years.

I've had two bad experiences in a row first on March 7th the car smelled like Marijuana. And now June 29th the car didn't have a full tank but the paperwork said it did. Even though I wasn't charged for those incidents after speaking to customer service for 30 minutes each time. It was still inconvenient delaying my travel time. Even though I'm a supposed gold customer the prices keep rising and the service declining
