I have been renting from Hertz for an embarrassingly long time (30 years at least). The car was fine and it more than served my purpose. I just don't like the business practices over the past year that used to separate you. I understand that you need to make money, but your online process is getting predatory. You have scared me enough to get insurance, what I never did because my credit card would cover me (that's fine, I know that this is high margin revenues for you - so I understand why you're pushing it). What was frustrating with this rental is that I didn't want and don't recall adding roadside assistance. It ended up on my bill and was quite costly compared to the price of the car. Also, I used to always get a full tank at Hertz. This time, it was just over 1/2 full. I was told by the agent to return it 3/4 full. If I wouldn't have checked and called him on it, I would have been screwed. Also, when I'm refilling the car before return, how am I supposed to know that it is 5/8ths full? You put me (the customer) in a bad position. 1. I have to overfill it, so I don't get a penalty (you get the benefit to rip off the next customer). 2. If a full tank (the 5/8ths you gave me) isn't enough for my rental period, because you were too lazy to fill the car, I now have to take my personal time to fill the car 2x during my rental. After Covid, everyone got lazier and more expensive, yourselves included. Uber was not ideal in this situation, but when it is, I will always select Uber instead of renting now as I don't need to feel like I'm being ripped off.

Excellent car in stellar condition, got a phenomenal rate for the whole week too. Very friendly and helpful at the Simi Valley location. Nothing but good service on all aspects!

I have rented several cars from Hertz over the past year and each time has been quick & easy to pick up and drop off the car, plus they have the best deals on their website!

Great service rented on a really hot day car was ready inspected and the air was on waiting for me to get out of the heat. Little things like this speak volumes.
