This Was Not a Hotel Stay — It Was a Health Hazard
We were completely deceived by this hotel. The room we were given was in horrific condition — mold covering the walls and ceiling, a nauseating, overpowering smell, filthy bedding, and torn towels. It was absolutely unfit for human stay.
We immediately contacted a staff member, who acknowledged the state of the room and promised the issue would be resolved the next day. But instead, we were told there were no other rooms available, and that if we wanted to stay, we’d have to move from one room to another every single day — a completely unreasonable suggestion.
This trip was not for leisure — we were there for nursing training, with a tightly scheduled program at a university and hospital. We had no time or energy to waste on chasing rooms. With no solution provided, we were forced to check out and scramble to find alternative accommodation last minute, paying out of pocket again just to have a place to sleep.
And then the lies began. The hotel owner, whom we had never seen or spoken to during our stay, started fabricating a completely false version of events: denying the mold, claiming the hotel had been renovated, insisting we were offered other rooms — all of which is completely untrue. We have clear photo evidence of the condition of the room, and the reception area had security cameras that should show no other rooms were ever offered.
They even claimed our intention was simply to “switch hotels.” That is beyond insulting. Who chooses to sleep on the street with their suitcases and stress over last-minute booking, if the room they paid for was actually livable?
In the end, we stayed at the first place we could find on the same street, just to fix the situation quickly. We were already exhausted, with no free time, and this disaster added unnecessary emotional and financial strain on top of an already demanding trip.
What this hotel did was not just unprofessional — it was deceptive, unsafe, and inhumane. People should not be subjected to this kind of treatment when they are simply looking for a clean, safe place to rest.
