Not the company that it was. The food has drastically changed for the worse since they stopped producing themselves and now use a cheap contract packer in Scotland. They claim that the meat is the same specification but it is not. It looks grey and smell unpleasant. There are much better, more ethical suppliers. We moved quickly to another supplier and 100% better than Hug.

Absolutely disgusting food, spent over £80 on and my cat wouldn't touch it which I'm not surprised about because it actually does look revolting. I have literally tried cooking this food in every which way you can think of aswel & my cat still won't eat it so that's £80 in the dustbin.
The amount of fat that comes off this food is absolutely astonishing & after seeing the amount of fat in it I really don't want my cat to be eating it, after doing a pot full in the oven I was left with a big white couple of inch thick white lard in the cooking pot after removing the food & cooling 🤢🤮
Will not be purchasing again and would definitely NOT recommend.

Really impressed! Really good food! Fast delivery and arrived in a well insulated/packaged box next day. I’ve tried many many brands when trying to find a suitable raw cat food. I’m pleased to say this one has so far been a big hit with my 2. Often they don’t like the texture of other raw food brands but the Hug food is really meaty texture- as I think it should be - not too slimey as some are. And I think because it has no bones it is less likely to cause constipation issues. So all in all a great quality fresh food for a fussy cat! 👍🏻 The only thing I would say is that whilst I love the tubs, as my freezer space is tight I think the 85g portions need smaller tubs or larger amounts in the tubs you have. I know it must be hard keeping the balance! your doing a great job and love it! presentation, packaging, quality of food, delivery all 5*🙌🏻

Excellent service and products. I'd been looking for alternative food for my Cavalier with eating issues and colitis. Since she has been on their 'Cookable Raw food' we haven't looked back. There's a good choice of flavours & her colitis is so much better. She also loves the Cold Pressed dry food. I always rate dog food by what comes out the other end & she is passing healthy, firm stools. The company delivers excellent, fast, efficient service.

After having a consultation with holistic vet, Nick Thompson, regarding my chocolate Labrador, Edwards recent diagnosis of chronic hepatitis I was informed of Hug pet foods.
He explained a raw food possibly wouldn’t be a way forward for Edward with his condition, however, Hug pet food was cookable as it contained no bone!
Eager to try anything to help him, I spoke with the lovely Ruth to ask her for help recommending something for Edward.
A tester box arrived promptly for him to try!

We LOVE it!
Easy and a pleasure to cook, easy to calculate the amount to feed and what’s more, Edward sits and waits by the hob when he knows it’s food time.
My other chocolate girl Ellie loves it too, licking her bowl clean every time to make sure nothing is left!
Arrives on time every week to pop in the freezer. It couldn’t be simpler!
Nearly a month of feeding and both look great!

After spending hours looking for the most environmentally friendly cat food I could find -with minimal or no plastic- I settled on hug. However ,I’ve been quite disappointed since signing up , as with each delivery there’s been unexpected plastic content. In the summer the cardboard tubs came in a massive dustbin liner sized plastic bag - due to condensation issues affecting the cardboard tubs? And now in my last delivery -with no warning - they have reduced the food weight by 15% (but kept the price the same) and also moved to a hard plastic lid for each tiny 85g catfood tub. I know the packaging element is very hard to do in an environmentally friendly way, however , what I find frustrating is the lack of communication to customers and also the fact their website does not accurately explain their packaging changes to customers. It still advertises packaging claims that are inaccurate and has not been updated to reflect the increased plastic packaging.

Very disappointed as I wanted it to work with them…..hug please sort it out!

Came across this company by chance - and super impressed! Great quality raw dog food - and a great ethical stance by the owners. They really seem to care!

Fulfilment was fabulous - food arrived within 48 hours and I was kept informed of the process all along the way.
