First Experience with HWA Warranty Coverage

I recently purchased a new home that included HWA's best DIAMOND plan. A few months later, I had a dishwasher water leak on a nice 800 series Bosch unit. The first repair involved replacing the door gasket but the leak persisted. I then hear back from HWA that they aren't repairing the appliance but instead settling the claim with a payment. The catch - they only offered a "coupon" to use at a local big box store equivalent to ~18% of the value of the machine. In reading the contractual fine print, it appears that they will cover up to $5000 on professional grade appliances but in reality, their calculations for "buy outs" are unrealistically low - a complete misrepresentation of "insurance". I clearly won't be continuing this warranty agreement past its initial one year period that the home seller paid for. Caution - you will never see this "low ball" settlement approach in their contractual language.

Terrible company

I have been in real estate for almost 10 years. I have worked with a lot of home warranty companies. I have never worked with one as terrible as you guys are. You completely ignored one of my claims, you denied my last claim with absolutely no merit. It’s takes a tremendous amount of time to get any non AI generated response. I deeply regret getting the length of warranty I have with you.

I don't like setting claims with AI. I don't like paying service fee upfront or putting on hold before even getting a technician assigned. Then being told it would be returned to my account within 24 to 48 hours which could interfere with the time frame the technician could arrive

Fixed the problem

Fixed the problem, professional, I know exactly what was going on. I called HWA and the appliance guy got a hold of me same day came to the house a couple days later!

This company is awful

This company is awful. Claims are denied, including the items you all are responsible for. The technicians that you guys hire that make mistakes your company does not take ownership and responsibility of to fix

The technician was very polite and…

The technician was very polite and professional. He arrived during the time frame I was told. He not only replaced the part but cleaned out the bottom of my dryer that was full of lint. The cleaning out the lint from the bottom inside of the dryer finally allowed the lint filter to fit. Highly recommend this technician.

Pathetic results from a claim

I am very disappointed with this claim-price to fix my 6 ish year old washer was $1000+ so HWA said they were going to replace it for me-offered $406 to replace a washer (and mine was not a low end model) then after I said ok-it’s a Lowes e-gift card that’s going to take up to 30 days to receive! I really have no words to convey my thoughts!
