I was sent some bowls as a present and they unfortunately arrived broken (they were very well packaged with fragile tape around the box, no complaints there). Not wanting to get the person who sent them to me involved, I contacted customer services with a photo and they got another set sent out to me the same day. Thanks!

Restaurant experience in the Norwich store not good. Absolutely appalled to have cash payment refused. I am afraid i shall not be returning to Jarrolds until they are willing to accept cash payment. I do not like being bullied into using card payment. Such a shame when most local people want to support this long standing family store.

I don’t usually write reviews but i was quite worried about ordering from here at first after reading the reviews on here, but i ordered my lonchamp le pliage handbag from here and it’s safe to say i’m extremely satisfied, the bag came quickly and it’s exactly the one i ordered, not to mention the cheapest i could find!! Wouldn’t hesitate to order again

Made a purchase of some kitchenware online which was delivered promptly and all items seem to be of good quality. Had the same experience as other reviewers with one item I ordered out of stock and have removed 1 star for this.

I was looked after by a lovely young lady called Chloe. She really took the time to go through products after asking me some questions about what I was looking for, for my makeup. It was great to be able to have a trial with the products, nothing was too much trouble. All very safely done and clean. Chloe was so friendly and I felt she really listened to what I needed and recommended relevant items. Felt she really deserved the recognition as it gave me the confidence to treat myself and get a new bundle of items and be happy with my makeup again, so a big thanks to Chloe at the Laura mercier counter.

Brilliant communication from their ordering department. I placed an order online and wanted it delivering to an outlying branch, which wasn’t listed on their website. Quick and personal response to ensure this was possible. I was kept fully informed. Very happy

Excellent customer service from the staff at Jarrolds , the dress I wanted to buy was in the sale but not on the online web site, they don’t usually take orders over the phone. Everything is on line now, but the dress wasn’t showing on line. So the Mint Velvet dept. Wrapped & sent the dress which I received the following day! Sad to leave a bad review after using this store for so many years. Yesterday i bought a Tom Ford Aftershave and paid £174.00 for it. Thinking it was pricey i decided to check the price with other department stores. Harrods amoung outher more luxury stores in London charge £164! and this generally includes postage. I prefer to try and support local stores like Jarrolds but having been charged £10 extra i will no longer continue to give this store my business.

A truly wonderful experience today for lunch at the Exchange in Jarrold. Varied menu and wonderful staff, especially James who was very attentive without being intrusive. A relaxed atmosphere to enjoy excellent food on our first ever visit to Jarrold. Will certainly make a point of lunching here again on our next visit to Norwich.

They took payment for two items both £100 + and then told me they did not have them in stock, still waiting for a refund! Avoid!!

First time in Norwich for many months and first thing to do is go to Jarrolds for breakfast and coffee.No breakfast only bacon rolls, no coffee top up,
no atmosphere 10 customers and now 2 less.This should be the time to make up for lost business. Very sad.

I ordered a size 8.5 in a pair of trainers, when the trainers came they were size 5! I contacted the company by phone who admitted that they never had size 8.5 in stock!!

My niece is a size 5 and agreed to take the trainers to save me the trouble of returning them. I emailed the company explaining this and suggested that the least they could do was refund my postage cost as they’d sent me the wrong item!! They did not even bother responding to my email!!

First and last time!! Never again!!!

Update: Emailed the company again with photos- no response. Rude and apathetic - Avoid!!!!!

Selling items with no stock !

Very poor service, items are advertised as in stock, purchased and paid for only to have the order then cancelled. They have had my money for 4 days now and I am still waiting for a refund.

Not worth the hassle, purchase from elsewhere.

Ordered an item and received an email the next day cancelling it as they don't have it in stock. Seems it's a regular occurence from other reviews. Not impressed

I would love to give a big shout out to Paris who works in cosmetics.
He was so helpful and went above and beyond to help me with my mascara choice.
Thank you Paris you are an asset to Jarrold’s. So helpful, friendly with a passion for makeup. You really made my day!

I ordered a dress online for a present. The order went through and I was awaiting my parcel, then two days later they emailed saying that my item was out of stock. I've seen that this has happened to other people. Please sort it out!

I'm somewhat surprised by some of the reviews here as my experience was excellent. We ordered a couple of Denby bowls which arrived very quickly and well wrapped. After delivery I noticed that I'd ordered the wrong style for one of the bowls - emailed customer services, got a very quick reply saying to simply send the bowl back and they would send out the correct one at no extra charge. Posted the bowl back on the Friday, and I just received the replacement today - Tues - two working days later.

Very happy with what we have bought and with the customer service here, and wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again.

I discovered this site when searching for some makeup. I was a bit skeptical to order based on the reviews here. However, my item was dispatched the next day and arrived promptly.

I had to return the makeup as a newer version was sent and I ordered the older product. However, this was an understandable mix up and the customer service team responded very quickly to my return request. The refund was processed promptly on return.

Overall, I would recommend this site and would order again.

After reading a considerable amount of reviews on here, I have to admit I was very dubious about ordering from them. However with a very competitive product price and a saving of £50, compared with competitors I thought it was worth it.
What an excellent service, I received a confirmation email once I'd placed the order, an email when it was despatched and the product arrived promptly.
A great shopping experience and I'm pleased I decided to order.

Dreadful, sell items they don't have and let you know in dribs and drabs. The worst company to deal with, disgrace to online shopping. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
