A very hostile and toxic environment. Despite being run by a woman, I found the culture to be deeply misogynistic, with female students routinely treated far more harshly than the male students.... Ver mais

Poor system with very basic learning materials (A sparse electronic handbook!) which require no more than repeating in the answer boxes. These systems are also very difficult if you have any learning need, such as myself with dyslexia. I have had One email from a tutor, who advised me to speak to customer services when ever I had a course material or course related query. Now I am receiving sarcastic and threatening emails from 'customer services' on a Saturday night advising me I have to pay £125 to cancel this course as 'They have done so much at this point for free'. Absolute shambles from start to finish.
I had emails chasing me for enrollment information after uploading this and confirming the information on 3 occasions.
I have zero confidence in this organisation from an educational or organisational perspective or indeed from a customer care point of view. You want the £125? Take me to court and stop your so called 'Customer service' team sending me emails late on a Saturday night.
And it would seem by the amount of similar reviews, this is a common issue.
Not overly impressed
Not overly impressed
I am not very impressed about the customer service or the standard of the course itself. The website is easy enough to use.
Not a reputable organisation, be very careful
I signed up for an online course I then couldn’t even start. I informed them accordingly several times which they ignored. I have accessed no material yet they still want to charge an extortionate amount for online material- ie I have cost them NOTHING but they still want to charge. Taking advantage of those in lockdown.
Appalling.
The only one I am confident to recommend …
I’ve completed several ‘free’ online courses (one wanted an additional £60 to get certified) over the last few years and LCG is the only one I have returned to and completed more than one course. They have given me friendly help (no hint of a rolled eye) whenever I’ve been unsure and have provided useful resources but you are also encouraged to do your own research to include in your answers and back up your learning. Tutor support has been friendly and there when needed (I’m not one for fb / group chat that end up off topic; it’s not for me) and LCG have never referred me back to a fb group instead of helping; (which happened with another company and just last week to a friend also with a different company). LCG are the only online courses I am confident to recommend to others.
Who the fcuk are you and why are you…
Who the fcuk are you and why are you emailing me. I have done no course with you. Don't email me again.
I have now completed more than one…
I have now completed more than one course with Learning Curve and they have been brilliant I’ll be signing up for another soon !!
This is my third course with Learning Curve... Excellent!!
This is my third course with Learning curve. I am impressed with the online portal where we have to answer the questions. It is made in a way you cannot copy and paste anything, you will have to type and that is only possible when you have read the information. Brilliant!.
I originally signed up with Aim Groups who then find you a relevant course, and I have always spoken with Darren from Aim Group. He is very quick with replies by email or by phone. I am giving this information as I have read the reviews.
The courses are fully funded and that is the reason if you enroll and you do not complete you will have to pay a fee. Also, the funding is only for Citizens, that is the reason they need proof of IDs. These are level 2 courses which is recognised on your CV. These courses have helped me with my role in School Governor.
For all 3 courses I signed up online, immediately I could access my booklets which I have downloaded and then I just have to read and answer the questions. The contact details of tutor was provided, I only needed it with my first assignment and I received a quick reply via text.
In my last course I submitted my workbook and within 48 hours I received feedback. When I did my first course the tutor had given detailed feedback and marked corrections which clearly shows that it has been properly read. With my second course I new what is expected so I did online research as well as read the booklet and answer the questions in detail. There is no limit for words so I wrote lots of information, at the end of the day it is helping me.
It looks not many happy people have left reviews, when you are satisfied you don't want to tell the world.
This was my best experience of online learning, all the information is on screen, website always function, no problems with logging in, or saving my work.
Thanks

All the tutors were very patient with me from day one. I learnt a lot that will help me throughout my life and i am extremely thankful for that.
Fabulous
I have no idea why all the other reviews are so awful my experience of the company has been Fabulous. Being out of work I've done 2 course with them during lockdown..... The tutors were amazing and I even got a thank you card from learning curve for my honest answers?????? Level 2 counseling my tutor answered my calls whenever she could and level 2 mental health awareness my tutor thanked me.
Would not recommend
Awful experience, google courses are probably better, at least they don't pretend to be something they're not. Overall the courses are okay but they don't provide what they say they do. I got the number of my tutor and called her to ask about how it worked and she said that they don't actually support individuals with the material, they just assess. At the enrolment it said that a workbook was viable for 3 weeks and a few days later I got a message saying that my first exam is in a week (a week earlier). To me, this is a scam - they raise expectations and then set you up to pay them. I just finished my first assessment and I haven't been feeling so good lately and trying to find work as well and I've been feeling so pressured and anxious by this on top of everything else. Learning should be like this. Will see if I have to pay as I just missed the due date for my assessment so I assume so based on other reviews.
I have finished my first unit of a…
I have finished my first unit of a level 2 course and handled it to them two weeks ago but no feedback, I don't even know, when should I handle the the next unit, it's impossible to reach them on phone or email. Is there anyone here who got their certification with them at all or I've been just wasting my time? I've really put effort in this because I need the qualification but if it's a scam, I'd rather report them now than do more work for nothing, also won't pay a single penny obviously.
Learner Beware: Ask the Questions!
Signed up for a course on Mental Health First Aid and Workplace Advocacy as interested in expanding my knowledge. I deliver ESFA funded Level 2 Courses myself so had some knowledge of what may be required. Enrolment was fine, VLE was not obvious or intuitive to navigate but managed to get through the the maths/english tests and complete them. My finish date online said March 2021 so I started working through the questions - not engaging in the slightest as as someone has already commented you have to basically just rewrite what's in the workbook guide. Had no communication from a tutor or anyone at Learning Curve until I received a letter with a demand for a £125 withdrawal fee due to me missing my assignment deadlines in early December. On contacting them I was told it was because I'd ticked the "communication only by post" box (Which I had for advertising opportunities). Still - even if one of my learners had ticked the 'by post' box I would ALWAYS contact them to introduce myself and let them know of any deadlines!! Basically - the course was ok by means of I learnt something but the administration is shocking. None of the points that are highlighted in the learning guide such as tutor getting in contact, reminders for deadlines, support etc were carried out. I wouldn't be averse to doing another qualification however I know now what to expect and would ask questions prior to enrolling. User Beware.
It's not a scam but god it's awful
It's not a scam but god it's awful, I'm doing a Learning Difficulties course and it's laughable how the information is provided, completely ignorant of people who are learning with them and also have these difficulties. It's no wonder they charge you if you quit the course, I can't afford to leave but I don't think I can drag myself through a third 'assignment' where all you do is retype a booklet into your own words, having to check up every few questions to find what's expected of you when they say "outline", "define", "describe", "explain" or "identify", which are all requiring different results. Why not a character count system or at least just keep it to "explain" or "describe". I have a lot going on and I can quite easily confirm that this is the worst past of my year. Such regret, would never do again, would never let a friend join, would never recommend.
Registered and started the work
Registered and started the work. Then a week or so later I was told there was an issue with the enrolment and it must be resolved within 10 days or I will be charged 125 pounds. They wanted me to send copy of my passport, birth certificate and etc as I already have sent a copy of my drive lessons. I called the same next day and emailed - no response. I’m really annoyed, don’t know what to do. :-/
All is not doom and gloom
Edit: just completed my second course with learning curve and I’m happy, still awaiting certificate from the first pass but with the current situation it’s to be expected. So updated a 360 on my review from the below,
Why did I not read the reviews beforehand! Just handed in my first unit, and seen an email about not being fully enrolled and to contact them within 10days of receipt of the email, which I have and called three times today only to get no answer!! This is a disgrace! I wish I had read reviews first!! I will of course update if it turns out to be okay and hope they reply to our feedback! but otherwise I will be reporting and avoiding STAY AWAY!
I started one of the learning curve…
I started one of the learning curve courses a couple of weeks ago. I did the check list and the starting tests which was all good. Then with the actual course work I could only answer a couple of answers then it just completely freezed and then when I re-freshed the page it logged me out. So I thought it was just my computer so I restarted it however now I can't access the course at all. I have called up many times and had no answer. Now I have just got an email saying that they require an withdrawal fee of £125.......
This is a scam.
This is a scam. Do not sign up for any courses if you do not wish to be harassed for £125. Despite the couple of good reviews (probably from employees), it is not worth even bothering with this abhorrent company. The people here should be ashamed of their tactics and business.
I have reported this company
I have reported this company to citizens advice and Action fraud.
I recently signed up to this fully funded counselling course with learning curve group.
I completed the enrolment, and gave them my passport and NI number etc which they needed for enrolment.
After enrolling they showed me the information that if i didn't complete the course i would incur a £125 fee. There was no indication of this before I enrolled. I contacted them to say I don't want to do the course now as i don't trust them and also looked up reviews and found lots of bad ones. I also found a local place that I know to do the course where they mention the £125 fee before enrolling. I suppose it's some kind of government funded thing which is why the fee exists, but I think it's unfair of them to not mention it before I enrolled.
They are now asking me to pay the £125 fee as I don't want to complete the course.
It a scam! Bugger! Really dont have time for this!
Well well well.. no literature(workbook) phoned 0800 asked to send an email, sent.. no workbook.. then a demand for 125 and withdrawn from the course as no coursework submitted... website goes to Border Connect...very weird! scam company...it certainly looks like it and any good reviews sent by scammers themselves..as we cannot verify otherwise.
Shameful behaviour
My daughter started a traineeship which sounded great. Apprenticeship at the end. She loved learning with the tutors there. Brilliant for me as my daughter had problem after problem at school. She was in tears at covid as she was making wonderful progress. Needless to say when September came and she was called by her tutor to see if she wished to return she was so made up. A welcome relief for me as her mental health was suffering. To this day she hasn’t returned. I rang the tutor who’s phone was off and found later that he had been made redundant. Not furloughed further as reception advised. Promises that calls would come to return never materialised. To my disgust, this company now has other teenagers on a programme in Middlesbrough and she still hasn’t had a call to return. They blamed a tutor for leaving and promised calls. My daughter is now with another company who have slipped up in saying that providers received full funding from tax payers for its pupils and that they don’t care now they are paid. Makes sense. Shifty work and disgraceful for a college that claims students are at the heart of every thing they do. The other young ladies on this scam course also never returned. A fact I checked first. Shame on you
