This used to be a fantastic monthly box of crafts till it was taken over. They have taken money off my daughter who paid for a yearly subscription. She has received nothing. Contact with the company is impossible. Please please avoid at all costs

They take your money repeatedly, steal your data by making you create an account but orders remain unfulfilled. Block and request refund through your bank as quickly as possible!! Customer service is inexistant.

I purchased five of the dressmakers subscription boxes from Makerly, two of which have never arrived - May and July 2023. I have contacted Makerly several times by email as that is the only way you can contact them. I have been given no proof that the boxes were ever sent or that the non delivery has been followed up. I have not received replacement boxes or received a refund and my last communication to Makerly of 1 October 2023 has been ignored.

I paid for a box in November,not received anything.
Have emailed multiple times and have asked for a refund and have not had any replies to my messages.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, these are scammers!

A massive con. Paid £50. Never got anything. Bank chasing my money now.

I wish I had read these reviews before placing an order with Makerly. They took my money and the order didn't turn up. I emailed them asking them to cancel the order and send a refund - no response. After more than a month, I gave up and contacted Paypal to request them to reclaim the money. I have now received the money back after Makerly also failed to respond to Paypal.
It looks as if Makerly is still taking people's money but not sending anything out or responding to emails. My advice is to contact your credit card company or Paypal, if that's how you paid, and try to get a refund through them. Makerly is not responding and I would be surprised if this is still a functioning company.

I have been trying to contact Makerly about an order (no. #1047) placed on 5th September. The order has not arrived. All my emails go unanswered, my Facebook posts remain pending. They do not supply a phone number. At the very least Makerly is providing an extremely poor customer service. At worst it is a con, my money was taken immediately, but I have had no response to my enquiries about the order's progress.

They haven’t even sent the August box out!! Not answering their emails, they’ve basically stolen money and are refusing to answer customers. Their boxes have been crap for the last few months, I’ve still got four boxes left on my subscription and I doubt I’ll see any of them! Five if you count the one I’m owed from that utter joke of a July box which was two colouring sheets and some cheap terrible pencils! They’re awful, avoid avoid!!

I am trying to cancel my subscription without success, it is very stressful not getting any response to emails, it’s poor customer service, and a payment was taken after I requested cancellation. I’ve not experienced anything like this with companies I have ordered craft kits from. I have been with Makerly Crafts for over 6 years and since the new owner took over in January 2023, it hasn’t been the same. No basic information in the craft kits, like a contents list or detailed instructions, we did have a lovely community Facebook group which the new owners put a stop to, as we as customers gave constructive feedback and they didn’t like it. With any craft kit you purchase whether it be from a store/online shop the basics are in the kit, a list of what’s inside and how to do the kit in detail, these were always missing. We have had two good kits which were outsourced as the way they were presented was totally different and the quality of the kit contents and having instruction booklets, but ones they have done themselves unfortunately have got progressively worse month on month and July 2023 kit was the tip of the iceberg. Coloured pencils and two colour by number sheets, nothing else in the box, no content list, how to guide, nothing inside saying it’s from Makerly apart from their address on the address label on the front of the box. Very disappointing when you pay £25 a month. I would just like them to be more customer conscious and reply to your emails in a decent time frame, and issue an immediate refund when you’ve cancelled, waiting over a week is not acceptable for a reply from emails you’ve sent them.

Absolutely horrendous company. Bought a 12 month subscription for Christmas for my daughter. This month’s box was two crappy colour by number print outs and a cheap box of poor quality pencils! I paid 25 quid for this?? And I complained via email, they ignored it, I followed it up twice and they finally replied this morning telling me that they’re sorry it wasn’t to my taste! It’s not my taste that’s the issue, it’s a crappy box being delivered purporting to be value for money and being totally unusable. There aren’t enough colours. They’re colour by number sheets but the colours aren’t assigned numbers and there are far more colours than there are pencils. Makerly’s answer to this is for us to copy the coloured example (which features more colours than provided) - how would that work if someone was colourblind? Colour by NUMBER should have a corresponding key! This is crap I could have picked up from Poundland. They’ve been late with the last three boxes and they’re getting steadily more crap. Seriously, anyone considering subscribing- don’t. Really don’t. Try another craft company. Their customer service is rubbish, their products are rubbish. They should be refunding everyone for this month, it’s an embarrassment. They’ve been rude and flippant via email, they don’t care that they’re sending things out late and they don’t care about the absolutely shocking box for this month. It’s like a free gift with a magazine. Tat. I wouldn’t even pay £3 for it.

Recieved the July box containing a box of colouring pencils worth £2.99 ( current selling price on Amazon)and 2 colouring sheets which are totally unsuitable for the the media as there is no way to use them successfully on the pictures as the colouring sections are tiny and you just can’t control the colour within the lines without constant sharpening of the pencils as you need a sharp point to attempt the colouring in. With cheap pencil crayons they don’t maintain the sharpness required and quickly wear down.
This box was for my daughter and cost £25 and is an absolute rip off. My daughter is 18yr old and an artist and there is no way she will use the items. Since the brand was taken over and a price increase incurred the quality of the boxes has gradually got worse, there is no longer any written information, instructions etc any more.
I have cancelled the subscription as I feel totally let down and ripped off. It is a shame as this was previously a great subscription box. Please don’t subscribe and waste your money

Terrible customer service, have been trying to get a refund after subscription was taken without permission for 3 months with no joy.
Company has been taken over recently and quality and originality of craft boxes has decreased dramatically.

This is my first review on Trustpilot, because I think this is an important one. Stay as far away as possible from this company! This used to be the best crafts subscription box in the world. After the company got new owners some months ago, they turned a priceworthy box with a lovely community to an expensive box where the content is not worth the money, and as a recent post indicated, are about to close down the Facebook subscriber community due to feedback on changes us subscribers didn't enjoy. They started to block people and filter who was allowed to publish their makes. It's also less crafts variations of the box even though the changed the name to "Makerly Classics subscriptions box", intended to be as before. I would recommend you to think twice before subscribing to this box with it's current owners. Crafting should be fun and welcoming independent on skill level.
