Horrible customer service and…

Horrible customer service and misrepresentation of prices:
Mariano’s had packages of chicken thighs marked with a big yellow sticker with red print-$1.99. I thought this is a great deal. I will grab 2. When checking out I noticed I was charged $6.33 each. When I inquired about it I was told the price was $1.99 PER POUND. When I said the sticker price did not indicate that, the cashier told me that on the back it says this. It was printed very small.
Went to customer service desk to inquire about why the huge sticker on the front does not indicate “per pound” and the woman, Vivian, told me that anyone with common sense would look on the back and figure it out. I told her I wanted my $ back, this was a shoddy way to mark packages, and her comments were insulting because as a consumer how am I supposed to know to “look on the back” when it is clearly marked in the front! She stormed off and said she would not wait on me. I had to wait for another person to come and refund my money.
Needless to say, Mariano’s and Kroger have lost my business. There are too many other grocery stores to bother with this company who treats their customers with such disrespect.
Also, Vivian should not be working in customer service if she cannot speak to people respectfully.

The Naperville (Market Meadows) branch

The Naperville (Market Meadows) branch does not enforce wearing masks. Several employees are either not wearing them or are wearing them incorrectly. The # of customers not wearing masks continues to grow by the week. My most recent visit on 12/18/2021 was the worst. On my way out on saw an employee with a "manager" badge who was not wearing a mask which is likely the issue. When management clearly doesnt take this seriously, employees and customers certainly won't. I'd recommend staying away if you are uncomfortable going someplace where there are several unmasked people in the building.

I get overcharged almost every trip to…

I get overcharged almost every trip to Mariano's. Sale items ring up for regular price and their buy 5 sales do the same. I'm tired of getting ripped off. I'm sure a lot of people don't catch it but I have to go to the service desk for adjustments almost every time.

Buyer Beware

At least 50% of the time, my shopping experiences at Mariano's have resulted in some type of error on their part, but the following tops the cake. On October 11, I purchased a $100 gift card separate from my food order, which I am so happy I thought to do. I paid cash and kept the receipt. On the 13th, I gave the gift card to a friend with an accompanying receipt which she thankfully kept. Sometime at the end of October, she decided to use the gift card. The Mariano's in Harwood Heights, IL told her that it would not be activated for 24 hours, which seems sketchy to me. My thought is that once I purchased the gift card, it was then automatically activated. Neither my Mariano's in Oak Lawn, IL nor the Mariano's in Harwood Heights, IL could help resolve the problem. We were told to contact the number on the receipt. My friend did so first. She disputed the gift card and was given a case number. Shortly thereafter, I contacted the same number she did, providing the case number, and was told to provide additional proof, which I did. I sent the info along with an email to the person requesting the info. Then I was told to call a week later, which was on November 9. I was transferred twice and disconnected the third time. The next day I called again. The phone kept ringing until I got disconnected, so I decided to try a different option, and then got some sketchy individual who transferred me to another sketchy individual. When they checked on the status of my dispute, nothing had been resolved. Were they kidding? At this point, I feel that my only recourse is to either write a letter to Corporate Customer Relations or get one of the local TV channel investigative reporters involved or file a police report. Kroger owns Mariano's and is making money, hand over fist; yet, they are dragging their feet about making things right concerning a $100 gift card. Shame on you, Mariano's. I not only want the $100 that was stolen from me, but I also want that and more for the trouble and time this has caused me and my friend.

Mariano’s Westmont location

Mariano’s Westmont location - 10/22/21 -
Saw a young male employee leaning on the counter talking to the young woman making Squeeze drinks - A male shopper asked this young man a question and I heard him reply they were short of staff and didn’t have that service today. Later at check out I asked to speak to the store manager because 3 employees were wearing their masks under their noses - come to find out the man leaning on the counter chatting to another employee is Tyler a manager- when I asked him to talk to the employees about proper wearing of faces masks he said there was nothing wrong with wearing them under their nose. I’m not going back to the Westmont store when even the manager on duty doesn’t comply with company requirements.
And nothing they advertised on sale was available- on Friday at 2 in the afternoon-
There is another Marino's in Naperville it is much nicer - too bad - the Westmont store is closer but my health is more important than convenience

Wish I could give Mariano’s a ZERO

Wish I could give Mariano’s a ZERO. The store always messes up the prices. When I go to customer service they give me a hard time as if it’s my fault the price was wrong. Today the price was wrong on two items and I needed quarters. Waited for 10 minutes at customer service… nobody came. Finally I went up to a cashier and he said he can’t help because he needed to take care of his line first and said I can wait until he finished checking everyone else out. Does nobody work at customer service???? I am boycotting Mariano’s. Worst place to shop.

I can't believe what a nightmare…

I can't believe what a nightmare shopping marianos.com has been. Constant errors, overcharging me, missing items you still have NOT refunded me for, NO response from multiple complaints over DAYS, wasted hours of my time, major frustration and I am an sick and injured patient... then your chat agent disconnects me! WORST service ever! Close down your website until you figure out how to actually use it! I want my money back!

Miserable experience

Just bought a plastic container of strawberries for $3.99 in Arlington Hts IL store, only to find out that they were thoroughly frozen and practically not edible. Unfortunately this type of surprise is quite common for many Mariano‘s products now. Ever since Robert Mariano sold the business to Kroger the quality of the products sold is going down in a spiral.

I hate the new app

I hate the new app. Very confusing. I liked the old app much better. Will probably go to jewel more often now. I prefer their app. Sorry Mariano's. This is totally not user friendly. Very confusing!!!! Go back to the old app and I'll shop more at Mariano's than. But until then see ya!!!!

Cancelled Online Order, Still Charged

I ordered online through the app on Sunday May, 30th. Received a response that the order was processing and then, a half hour later it was cancelled. BUT, they still charged us for this order; we never received the items we ordered, nor our money back. It is almost two weeks later and I'm still waiting for our refund. Due to the poor customer service, I'll not be shopping online with Mariano's any more.

I’m shopping at Marianos since opening

I’m shopping at Marianos since opening, used to be unique,nice selection. Now just average grocery store like Kroger or any other. Seafood is usually outdated with terrible smell, bought 3 times, was so bad couldn’t eat. Bakery not fresh. Lower your standards when you shop there.

New way to order in the app for pick up…

New way to order in the app for pick up is too confusing. Did anyone in the corporate office QA test the new app? I added items to my cart. I wanted to review my cart. I get a message that “you can’t check out an order with “in store selected”. Really? So how do I view my cart? How do I pick my pick up day and time? I used to do it that way Also. There is no way in my profile to keep my preferred store. I have to select my store every time !?!? Lastly, there are way to many messages at the top of the screen that I have to hit the “x” to close out. And if I happen to go back one page and then back again, I have to select my store AGAIN and close out all the messages at the top of the screen. What used to take me 3 minutes to PLACE an order for pick up now takes me 5 minutes just to navigate to the right page. The prior app version was great. What genius thought it was a good idea to fix something that wasn’t broken ?

Your APP/ Staff is not user friendly

I with I can give no star for the bad service but that's not a option. This is the third time it happened. Your APP is not GOOD or User FRIENDLY. you need to fix it. I had clipped coupon and when I went to check out that item, clipped coupon are no longer there. plus, Your staff need more training how to answer or help the customer with this kind of question. You should pay attention on how many bad reviews you get for your APP.

Poor Customer Service

I was grocery shopping and wanted to purchase the clementines oranges that were on sale I have the Mariano’s app so I clipped it, to find out I had to go to Mariano’s.com to clip the digital coupon. I tried to do that, it said that I was already signed in. I asked the rep if she could just give me the sale price. She did not This is poor customer service. Evergreen Pk

As always,I have had a Wonderful…

As always,I have had a Wonderful experience at my Frankfort Store. In particular A Wonderful Young Man working in the fish & meat department. His name is Rob,he was EXTREMELY HELPFUL & also VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE. I Hope I will see him again at my next shopping day! THANKS ROB! Keep up the GREAT WORK!💜

Always order for pick up in these…

Always order for pick up in these trying times from the aurora marianos. Katherine one of the lead people is excellent and so very personable as well as those that work with her. The few little hiccups that have happened are always taken care of by her. Store manager Greg has been very helpful and accommodating, even offered to deliver a rotisserie chicken to me when the one I got was burned. I miss going into the store but hopefully will again soon

Used to be a good store

Used to be a good store. Then Kroger bought them. Now the aisles are littered with junk, they've installed self-checkouts everywhere (that never work and require associates to "fix" every few items), and their prices have gone up.

Thank god for Amazon.

Is it because I’m a black customer

Totally pissed bought pepperidge Farm cookies for my granddaughter. My granddaughter keep saying they weren’t good once I checked the package I noticed they were over 3 weeks pass the expiration date🤬 I tried to return product and was told nothing can be done. I am now taking my money elsewhere. I have shopped at this location for years. I’m thinking about contacting the department of health I’m glad I keep the receipt.

Terrible experience

Terrible experience. Placed my 1st on line delivery order on line. Please know I do this every week from Jewel, but they had no slots open. I place the order 4/9, with a delivery date of 4/16. I go in to add something to my order. No big deal. I look at my bank account and thet have taken $510.00 from my account. I was on the phone today for 4 hours and 40 minutes trying to resolve this. Nothing. I even called the corporate headquarters in California, and was assured the person would call me back. Nothing. Now I have to figure out how to get my money back. In this day and age a couple hundred dollars is ALOT of money. My 1st experience will be my last. What a shame.
