We were recently in a position where we a house that was being marketed by Morris Dibben; we were shown around by Lydia who was very friendly and helpful. It transpired that the owners of the house were interested in a house like ours and so the possibility of a 'house swap' was discussed. Our house was not on the market but we planned to let the owner look around to see if they liked it. It all happened quite quickly and we were unsure whether we needed an estate agent or whether we could show the house ourselves. Naturally we were keen to avoid additional fees but we needed to do some research first to see whether we would need an estate agent at all.
John from MD then called us to arrange a viewing of our house - knowing full well we didnt actually need an estate agent. On the phone, we asked for a lower commission rate as this would just be one viewing rather than photographs, marketing, multiple viewings etc. John seemed to avoid answering this I think 3 times and immediately after the call sent a contract via email. In this email, it stated that if we sell the house that MD would receive 1% commission.
We called John back to discuss this and he became what I can only describe as hostile and blunt. He said the lowest he would go commission-wise would be 0.8% and insisted that we would need their help. He even then hung up on us which was very upsetting. In light of this, we decided to cancel the viewing.
I then spoke to the owner of the other house face to face but I suspect John has already called and defamed our character, perhaps making us out to be unreliable (which we most certainly are not).
It's incredibly disappointing as this could have been a brilliant arrangement with all benefitting appropriately. However, for MD it seems the appeal of slyly profiting more than they deserved was more important than integrity. These are tactics you would expect from con-men, not from an established and 'reputable' business. It's a horrible feeling when someone tries to take advantage of you and I feel very disappointed.

I had a fantastic experience working with Amelia,Anais ,Liam From the start, they were incredibly helpful, responsive, and professional throughout the entire process. They made everything smooth and easy, and I truly appreciate their honesty and transparency. Thanks to them and other worker that I forgot their name I apologise because you I found a great place that fits all my needs. I highly recommend morris Dibben to anyone looking for housing they genuinely care and go the extra mile.

I had an agent to value my property to sell and find me an alternative property to purchase. The agent sent me his evaluation and also said he would be in touch to discuss my decision after I study the evaluation. He did not call me for a few weeks and then, I decided to call him. I explained that I had decided to sell and gave him my referred the area and type of property that I wanted to purchase. He said, he would call me back in a few hours as he was driving and not to believe in what people say about the unreliability of the sales agents. Well, I didn’t have to hear it from people as I experienced the unreliability of the agent myself. That was about two months ago. Never heard from him, and my principal would not allow me to call or walk to the office, which was located a few hundred yards from me. My intention was to sell and buy two other properties. Perhaps the company has a good reputation, but sales agents as such would definitely create a shadow on the reliability of the company. I don’t blame the company entirely, but it would certainly lead me to believe that there is a lack of internal quality control and auditing system in place. In these cases, customers don’t lose but the companies’ do.

It was the ever smooth process of letting since i got to the UK some years ago, fast and good customer care. @Anais, she is just a professional with good customer relation, keep it up guys.

After a few disappointing experiences with estate agents during our search for our first home, Matt McInally was a breath of fresh air. From the start, he was punctual and well-prepared, leaving a great first impression. We found him to be highly trustworthy and genuinely valued his insights on the properties we viewed with him. I have had a very positive experience with Morris Dibben in Southampton. Matt went out of his way to show me a property in the evening on the day he was off and Lauren was also instrumental in me securing the property. Very pleased with the exceptional service received.

Terrible experience with Morris Dibben. Poor communication, unresponsive staff, and unprofessional service throughout. Maintenance issues were ignored, and getting anything resolved was a struggle. They were quick to take money but slow to help tenants. Would not recommend renting through them—avoid if you want a hassle-free experience!

I had a terrible experience with this property agency. After deciding not to proceed with a rental, I informed them well in advance—more than 7 days before the process could move forward. Despite this, they unreasonably withheld my payment and unjustly deducted the entire amount.

Their lack of transparency and disregard for ethical practices are appalling. When I reached out for clarification, their response was dismissive and unhelpful. This agency seems to prioritize profiteering over fair treatment of customers.

I strongly advise against dealing with them. Their practices are not only unprofessional but also outright exploitative. Proceed with caution if you choose to engage with them!

We’ve had excellent service from morris Dibden the manager from the Southampton branch found us the perfect home, brilliant service from John showing us our dream home, Andrew the mortgage advisor amazing help getting our mortgage in place and couldn’t have done it without the outstanding help from Narinder Rai who saw us to the end, doing the job of a solicitor and made the journey smooth, kept the chain moving, would definitely recommend this estate agent, thank you

Nick Harris the Branch Manager of the Romsey Branch was amazing. As a letting agency ourselves we used his services to let a property in their local area for our corporate client. Nick went out & valued the property the same day & let it within 4 working days. The customer service we have received is outstanding, friendly & very competitive given that we had communication with two other agents in the area that lacked the enthusiasm & professional touch.

Awful customer service. When people say they can't trust estate agents, these are the people they're talking about. Never respond to emails, we had second thoughts about dealing with MD so asked to cancel our contract within the 14 days period, they have not and basically refuse to confirm that we're out of contract and have only tried to be pushy sales people on the phone. Stay away from Morris Dibbens if you want to get your security deposit back

I rented a house in Southampton through Morris Dibbens and when I moved out of the house at the end of the lease, they told me that my security deposit was being rolled over to the new tenant and I would have to ask him to get that money back. He refused and I'm probably headed to small claims court to recover my deposit, so I'd definitely warn away from Morris Dibbens to save everyone the headache.

Terrible. Error on memorandum of sale meant error with mortgage offer. I had mortgage offer 2 months before anyone their end realised it hadn't been received by solicitor or EA. No communication throughout.

Morris Dibben in Romsey, Hampshire have been excellent throughout the process of purchasing a property for my mother. Mike , Jack and the team have communicated regularly and professionally.
