From start to finish ( a very short time period) the service at Mr Carpet was superb. Manny , at the shop, could not have been more helpful and Aiden, who installed the carpet was super efficient. Communication for any company is key and Mr Carpet excel at keeping you up to date on exactly what is happening and when. Well done to one and all.

Customer service is what defines this company. Every carpet supplier can supply pretty much the same product, but Mr Carpet can rarely be bettered on price and can always be relied on to do what they say, use reliable and talented fitters and genuinely strive to keep the customer happy. I've used them again and again for 30 years or so and they have never lost their ethos.

I bought a stair runner from Mr. Carpet. The manufacturer of the stair runner was Crucial Trading. The Crucial Trading product I purchased was the 'Grand Herringbone Sisal'.

This particular sisal product is marketed on the Crucial Trading website as being suitable for "heavy domestic, stairs". A product that is marketed as suitable for "heavy domestic and stairs" should reasonably be expected to cope with traffic from a mainly two-person household. Yet, this sisal product from Crucial Trading, fitted to my staircase, showed signs of wear within about 3 years.

The Crucial Trading Grand Herringbone Sisal was fitted to my staircase in January 2019. My first complaint to Crucial Trading (via Mr Carpet as the retailer) was in February 2022.

The advice delivered by an Independent inspector appointed by Crucial Trading was that the wear was due to local incidental usage and the recommendation provided was that we should "spread the wear where possible because the stairs are susceptible to concentrated pivot and rubbing which can lead to a more rapid wear rate". This requirement to "spread the wear" when using a staircase could mean, in practice, having to remember to place the foot in different positions each time the staircase is used. Many might reasonably suggest this is not practical and that a stair covering should reasonably be able to withstand the use it was designed for - people going up and down a staircase as they move around their home. After all, the Grand Herringbone Sisal from Crucial Trading is marketed on the website as being suitable for "heavy domestic, stairs".

In my experience, Crucial Trading hasn't been easy to deal with. In a direct dealing with the company, for example, Crucial Trading stated that it had no direct involvement in the matter, as my contract for purchase was with the retailer (Mr Carpet). They also stated that the retailer had no obligation imposed by Crucial Trading to take further action. This left me wondering where to turn.

From my experience, how a company deals with a complaint or an issue is important.

There is no recourse left to me now, as the Carpet Foundation has closed down, and the retailer has taken reasonably lengthy periods of time in some instances to respond to my ongoing complaint over the years.

As consumers, however, we have choices. Based on my experience with the Crucial Trading Grand Herringbone Sisal, I will not purchase a Crucial Trading product again.

I have been going to Mr Carpet in Fulham for years. John and the team have always been incredibly helpful and the fitting team has always done a great job. I can thoroughly recommend this business - and it's always a pleasure dealing with them.

From the initial consultation at their very friendly main office, to the careful measurements taken by Manny, and finally to the extremely skilled fitting by Martin, Archie and Tommy - full marks to everyone at Mr Carpet, we can heartily recommend their excellent service and very reasonable prices!

We have used the Fulham branch of Mr Carpet twice to do a full Carpet Replacement in our flat and then to replace our living room carpet when it was damaged. The team (John, Pete and Manni) are fiendly very helpful. We have visited the shop many times and there was no hard sell which was such a relief.
We were given good advice and they made sure to work within our budget. The Carpet fitter they sent (Martin) was polite, friendly and did an excellent job.
I highly recommend them.

I have used Mr Carpet in Munster Road Fulham for over 25years although my last dealings with them was 9years ago. Staff have all changed but the experience has not. As usual they were a pleasure to deal with the fitters where on time and did a great job. All excess carpet was removed and area cleaned. All I needed to do was quick vac, Cannot praise this company enough.

I couldn't be more happy with the final outcome of Mr.Carpet's services!!
