Narwal Freo Ultra Z Mops (CAUTION BEFORE BUYING)
I’ve been watching my wife deal with ongoing issues with our Narwal Freo Ultra Z mop and vacuum combo, and I feel compelled to speak up. We paid a lot of money for this unit, and to be fair, for the first two years it worked great, I was genuinely impressed, which doesn’t happen often.
However, things have taken a serious turn. All at once, multiple problems started happening, and not just one minor issue, but several major ones. Early on, Narwal’s customer service was excellent, which meant a lot to us. We’re very loyal to companies that make an effort. Unfortunately, their support has declined significantly.
Every time my wife submits a ticket, they respond with the same generic advice: “clean the charging prongs.” That is NOT the issue.
Here are the problems we’re experiencing, even after performing a full factory reset:
The vacuum frequently fails to align properly with the charging dock. It will spin its wheels, pull out, and retry repeatedly before finally connecting. The base is level, and the charging prongs are clean, this has already been ruled out.
After cleaning just one room, it returns to wash the pads before moving on, which is fine in theory. But now it gets stuck in the base continuously washing the pads until it completely drains the water tank. As a result, it wastes cleaning solution and never finishes the job. The dirty water tank ends up clear because it only cleaned one room.
Most of the time, the house isn’t getting cleaned at all-neither vacuumed nor mopped.
To make matters worse, while writing this, my wife told me the unit was sitting in the base and sent a notification saying “returning to charging station.” When she hit cancel, it didn’t move-but suddenly started charging anyway. Clearly, something isn’t functioning correctly, possibly related to a recent update.
At this point, I’m giving Narwal one last chance to step up, show they care, and actually work with us to resolve these issues. If they do, I’m happy to revise this review.
If not, I’ll make sure others are aware of our experience—and we’ll be taking our business elsewhere for a more dependable product.
Revision: After going back to see when we purchased this so called mop, it was March 8, 2025 and we paid $1498.00 for it. What kind of company won’t back their own product that’s not even a month over the year warrant. This should show everyone to stay away from this company, they’re out there to screw over hard working Americans.
