I initially had a good to reasonable opinion about my mot & full service provided by this centre on Halfords behalf, a bit pricey but what do I know on reasonable prices for this stuff. I left today with a much worse opinion. TLDR: Misleading printing on website and rude manager.
I picked up my car and was overall happy with the result. The thing that peaked my concern was that there was no mention of my AC in the final report. Now, I knew going into this that the AC in my car didn't work, and I in no way expected them to fix it as part of a service. What I did expect is for it to be highlighted as part of the "Check air-conditioning operation" part, so there I am thinking that they may have not done that, and if so what else have they missed from the service.
So I went into the store to inquire and at first the guy at the desk says they do not check AC and that they neither have the tools or qualified people to do it, and that it would be at another site. This agitates me as I have not been told that part of my service will be at another site, and I say as such. This goes back and forth a bit until the manager steps in, an older guy with white hair, and looks into it and explains that the "Check air-conditioning operation" is literally just does the AC turn on and off on the dashboard.
That is it, nothing else, not even to just check that the air coming out of the vents is cold. Being quite honest, this does not classify as "Check air-conditioning operation" in my opinion, really it shouldn't be on the list of things they do on the service as it is not worth paying for, but it is what it is.
I say to the manager and staff that I don't blame them and that is fair enough, but personally I feel that is a bit misleading on Halfords behalf, but what can you do, maybe they can at least put one of those stupid asterisks next to the thing. But the manager has decided that he doesn't like my bad impression of Halfords or something and as I am leaving he says to me to stop interrupting, which fair enough I am a bit agitated and I didn't mean to but he is distinctly unfriendly and rude about it, and says that any garage or service centre in the county does the same, which okay... doesn't make it right.
He is distinctly rude and unfriendly about about it, which keep in mind I was leaving anyway, he just wanted to get the last word in and wanted to make his dislike felt. He pushed what was an unimpressed opinion of Halfords and an ambivalent opinion about this place to an active dislike of both Halfords and them. I will never ask for service from Halfords or especially this place with the rude and up them attitude manager so long as I live.
I went in late in the day needing 4 new tyres pretty urgently and they sorted it for the next morning. The guys are all very respectful and polite. Thank you for the great service.
Done a brake service(lot of things done,change and cost a lot). After 1 week book a interim service plus MOT. Guess what,MOT failure on brakes. It's not the failure of the MOT but the failure of the trust given. As a tyre changer they are okay.

I took the car back, but I was told they couldn’t help with the issue. As I rely on my car for work, I had to go to another garage urgently and spent an additional £200.
I was initially told the problem was the steering pump, but another garage confirmed the issue was actually with the steering rack. Very disappointing service after such a high cost. I won’t be returning and would not recommend this garage.

I was really under impression it is April Fools Day. Agreed on price for brake pads and disk replacement at just under 420£ at least this was a deal (Two front wheels). 40 minutes later received phone call saying one of the calliper is ceased and need replacing. Price for the new calliper quoted 521,89£ at the same time checked the price of the part on Eurocarparts.com official part supplier to the garage price provided 283.99.
Two option given to me at the time being
1st Take the car elsewhere using Recovery vehicle
2nd pay 938.65 £ in total rather than what I believe 420+283.99=703.99£
Branch manager was quite adamant this price include labour etc. But to be honest when the wheel is apart for brake discs and pads replacement the only labour required is to untie additional two bolts. Do you think 2 bolts out and in is worth of 521.89£-283.99£ =237.9£ I may think more training for the branch manager is required. What a Rip off. Please be carful when choosing this place.
After all Dear Manager everyone has his own Boss, Hopefully one of them will read this review and help me to get compensation on unfairly quoted job and my lost of 234.66£ + a pack of doughnuts :)
Took my car for front wheel balancing to be told my front brake caliper is siezed as my caliper clip was twisting and I need to pay £306 to have it replaced....so I took to a different independent garage who advised me it's not siezed, all what was wrong was caliper clip had been installed wrong 2min job cost £0....don't understand how they come to the conclusion that my caliper was siezed by a visual expectation also whould thought there mechanics would have noticed that the caliper clip was installed wrong as was quite evident.
Wonder how many other people have had unnecessary work done at high expense.
Advise stay clear of any Halfords garages or those associated with them as they either are incompetent or just enjoy ripping customers off..
Great customer service- alternative given when incorrect tyres were supplied.
Excellent follow up from a query following tyre replacement. Issue explained in an understandable manner
Staff were polite and accommodating - nothing was too much trouble.
Took the wifes Mazda in today for new front tyre . No hard sells . Mechanic got out a seat cover as car has cream leather so big thumbs up for that . 30 mins later all sorted . Would recommend then to any one
Yesterday I did full service and MOT of my car in Gloucester one. Nice staff, amazing explanation, and everything went to nice and easy for me.
I will come back again.

I booked a fully service and MOT as the company offered a discount to NHS staff. On collecting my vehicle I noticed the windscreen washers weren’t working, this was highlighted in the pre MOT as a failure which I was told had been rectified. This concerned me, so I checked over my car and found the engine oil hadn’t appeared to be changed “I base this on 40 years of experience of doing my own engine servicing” . I contacted the garage and the said the oil had been changed and they would repair the windscreen washer issue. I was told the MOT had been carried out correctly and this error reoccurred afterwards as the washer valve was faulty and they had adjusted the valve so it now passed the MOT requirements but it met the lower end of a pass. I have since change the engine oil myself, and from the colour of the new oil I believe this hadn’t been done as part of the service. I also adjusted the washer valve and it is now working perfectly. I’m very disappointed with National Tyres/Halfords on the poor quality of service

I have been a loyal customer of National Tyres and Autocare in Gloucester for many years, using their services for my MOTs, annual servicing, and tyre changes. Today, I visited to have one of my tyres checked, and, as always, the service was provided free of charge.
The staff at this location are consistently polite and professional, always recommending the best options tailored to the customer’s needs. During any service, they always ensure to put protection inside my car, keeping my steering wheel clean and maintaining the interior's pristine condition. Their commitment to excellent service and customer care is truly commendable. I highly recommend this amazing team to anyone in need of reliable automotive care.

Booking made on line. On arrival at depot was welcomed and confirmation of the order was simple. All questions answered by knowledgeable staff. Was treated politely with respect. Would use again
I have used national tyre now for over 12 months and find them very professional
Easy to order the right tyres using vehicle reg, fitting date and time fixed with 50% off wheel alignment. All seems good.
