I have used National 2 times both in DK and in Spain and both have been a wonderful experience.

I already booked them for my next trip to Denmark in November.

I have recently completed my rental of one of National's vehicles in LA, USA. I booked a "Jeep Grand Cherokee or similar" online. However, upon arrival I got to choose between a Jeep Compass and a Dodge Journey. I know that I cannot expect to get the exact Jeep G.C., but I do expect a car in a similar class - this was not the case, as only much cheaper options were presented to me. I ended up taking the Dodge, but with no discount.
I used National (and not the cheaper competitors) to avoid situations like this. Is this really what to expect from National?!

I have now rented cars with National 8 times in the last few years.

They have actually managed to fulfill my expectations almost to perfection. The very limited issues have been solved to my satisfaction.

- The Emerald club system allows me to pick my car. This means a lot to me.
- Good cars, mostly almost new with low milage.
- Cars have en all been very clean inside and out.
- The attendants have always been very friendly and efficient.
- When renting at National, I have never tried to wait in line, for more than 2 minutes, for check out or return. (very much unlike my experiences with other establishments)

Bottom line for me it is worth the extra pennies.

The customer service attendant who I spoke with when picking up the car (Friday November 21, 2014), couldn't be bothered with anything that would take time away from his scheduled Friday night activities. The customer ahead of me was missing proof of address (a bill) and asked the attendant if he could run to his place to get it (he mentioned he lived 5 minutes away in the same neighborhood). The attendant without hesitation said NO, it would be closing time by the time he got back. When it was my turn, due to it being past closing time, the attendant could not be bothered with properly checking the car with me nor giving me any sort of instructions about the basics of the vehicle I was renting. He handed me the keys, asked a co-worker to open the gate for me so that I could leave.... Simply appalling!

Had it booked from home, but arriving at Vancouver Airport, they did not have my car.
They asked med to transfer down to a smaller car without a good reduction in the price, also they tried to sell me all kinds of insurances you don't need. Also a very long waiting time, even though the no que at the desk. The staff was very rude in their way of speaking.
Not recommended.
