House non sale

Had my house for sale with this estate agent for 6 months last year. Not a single viewing. Think they greatly inflated the price. Poor pictures.

Once Newton Fallowell

Once Newton Fallowell, Lincoln received my holding deposit for a rental property their communication virtually stopped. Even the owner/director isn’t responding to my emails.
I have been told the holding deposit may not be returned as per agreement, however their poor service should be justification for returning my money. Appalling

Positive buying experience

I am currently in the process of buying that is currently being sold by Newton Fallowell Lincoln Branch, due to complete in the next week. I have had the pleasure of dealing with Abbie Wardle. Abbie has been the only person (including solicitors and my own estate agent) who has maintained regular contact throughout, providing regular updates and allowing positive communication with my sellers. Abbie has been extremely helpful and proactive throughout and has certainly made my buying experience easier. Thank you Abbie or all your hard work.

Incompetent and Mislead Customers

Our property was on the market with a different Melton Mowbray based estate agent for several months in winter so decided to change agents in the spring. We chose Newton Fallowell because they had branches in Melton, Bingham and Grantham, so we thought that we would be marketed to a wider audience. The agent came round, reassured us that it would be marketed through all three offices and said that it should sell immediately.

Photographs were taken and the for sale board went up quickly but, after a week, we were not showing online and the social media video hadn’t been taken (apparently a speciality and crucial part of the NF marketing process). We had to ring up to have the listing put on Rightmove and the NF website. A date was arranged for the video but the agent failed to attend. We had to contact them several times for the video to be taken.

After a couple of weeks I attended the Bingham office to check whether they were marketing our property but was informed that each branch is a separate franchise and wouldn’t market other branches’ properties unless there was an agreement to share the commission. When confronted, the agent said that there must have been a misunderstanding about this (certainly not by us – we made it quite clear what we expected) although he did say that he would see what he could do.

A few days later the manager came round to take the social media video and we asked about marketing at different branches. He reassured us that although separate franchises, any customer registered with any branch will have details sent through centrally as long as the property was within their search area. After a couple of weeks our friends registered for our area at the Bingham branch and, surprise, surprise, nothing was sent though. I asked the agent about this the next time that I spoke to him and he said that nothing was sent centrally. Either the agent or his manager was not telling the truth.

As well as these issues, there were ongoing errors with our marketing details and photographs which took several attempts to get rectified. We did get one viewing through Newton Fallowell but strongly suspect that they were a ‘stooge’ set up by the agent due to length of time that they spent at the address with the agent – not enough time to go round the whole house (despite ‘loving’ the property).

The only thing in Newton Fallowell’s favour is that they don’t have a notice period so, after a month, we were able to leave and find a competent estate agent. Don’t waste your time selling through this agent – they are incompetent and less than honest!

New Team Better Service

Having read a few reviews, I felt that it only right to leave mine.

I first started renting with Newton Fallowell Retford around 5 years ago. The service was good and I loved the property that I was in. I moved to a different property and I feel the service changed somewhat with the rental team in Retford. Fortunately, I had a good relationship with the landlord who supported us. However, at the end of that tenancy and the beginning of the new tenancy I feel we had challenges. Our bond was withheld, even though my partner is a professional cleaner. I feel this was done because we had raised issues with the state of our new property and it felt like some form off payback. Throughout our 12 months in our latest property, we asked several times for certain repairs to be done, we advised on occupancy that the door frames be painted properly as 1 coat would not be suffice and the frames will only flak or rot, we had issues with a leaking bath that bled through into the kitchen.

None of this work was addressed properly until the new rental team were installed, I raised these issues again in August to the new team and they were sorted out quickly and to a standard far higher than on occupancy.

On vacating the premises we left the house in a far better condition than when we occupied it. The communication was excellent and this resulted in a happy tennant, a happy landlord and a good review for the new team in place.

I feel that the previous team took their eye of the ball and the new team should not be tarred with the same brush. The recent service has been excellent and having been a landlord and a tennant I would be more than happy to recommend them and their support services.

Do not use

Do not use! Staff lied, dismissive, and down right rude. Wrote to the company for an explanation never received a response. Thank god for the purchasers estate agents who did newton fallowed job for them!

Avoid putting your money or your…

Avoid putting your money or your property under the 'management' of Newton Fallowell. This company has mismanaged, manipulated and outright lied to us, the renters and the owners of our home for years.
They will smile as they take your £££ and then accuse you of being impolite for observing and mentioning their shady business practices.
We have been dealing with this company for more than 3 years...

Quite honestly the manager at the Bourne branch is the most unprofessional individual I have ever met in my life. The service of fully managing my property resulted in them breaching the contract and left me thousands of pounds out of pocket. His arrogant attitude towards my house being destroyed by the tenants which he placed in my house led to me loosing my livelihood is astounding. How do you sleep at night, let me guess you still get tucked in bed with yr teddy bear where as people like me loose sleep over how to fix a problem you created. Avoid like the plague….

Unprofessional

I dealt with Charlotte and her team recently at the Ashby de la Zouch office. Broken promises, lies and a horrific attitude. Her team were dismissive, ignorant and rude. Avoid. I went over the road and found people much better, and spoke to me like a human. Charlotte is a liar, and tried to blame my husband to save herself. I am genuinely shocked at her behaviour and attitude. This is not my first time dealing with Newton Fallowell and on both occasions I have found them to be unprofessional.

Absolutely awful experience from the…

Absolutely awful experience from the bloxwich office and I really wish I had looked at the feedback first.

They were happy to take a holding deposit immediately from me upon viewing and said should I fail the credit check which I told them I would. They would look at a guarantor.

They didn’t even attempt this and just told me it’s a no.

For two weeks now I have been chasing and chasing to get our holding fee returned. And being told excuse after excuse from Sophie and still no refund.

This is while I’m going through as section 21 no fault eviction and already highly stressed and money is so tight!

All staff very helpful

All staff very helpful. Veiwing of properties no problem even when only wanted to measure a few things. Always available to help and even pushed the solicitors along to keep move going. Debbie always on there back to help us move quick. Many thanks to all team even helping with paper work when we had no access to internet and printing.Would highly recomend Skegness site.

Awaiting a refund and no response.

Very poor service from Lichfield branch. Still waiting for a holding fee refund after receiving none of the follow up forms to sign or fill in. Terrible communications with agent never being available to speak to and replies to emails extremely sporadic..obviously I have a full paper trail. Didn't want to go down the route of leaving a poor review but I'm at a loss at this point as I'm getting nowhere in trying to discuss the matter.

Extremely slow and poor communication

Extremely slow and poor communication. Dealing with the Peterborough office and it's just a nightmare. They do not get back to you and as a customer, we are constantly chasing them only to receive a blurred response. Frustrating experience

We moved to our forever home on the 23rd of May, and will not be able to thank Amy and Nick from the Wellington branch enough. Amy went above and beyond for us, from her polite manner and communication on a daily basis and her support. You do an amazing job Amy and really care Thank you again

bought a house from them

bought a house from them. they claimed they had the keys. when i went to their office to collect them ( a visit made by appointment) the keys were not there. almost a month later i have no keys. I cant get into their office- it is 200 miles away from me- and they refuse to leave the keys at the property or to post them.said its not their probem. completely shameful bunch at brigg, lincs. avoid at alll costs.
