My wife subscribed to nutrafol for over 3 years. After all this time nothing happened except our bank account got emptied. I felt like we bought a product from a medicine man of the old west. This is sadly nothing more than a scam that desperate people fall for. They should be prosecuted for selling something that does not work!!!
Great company care
I considered canceling my subscription because I was not seeing improvement in my hair loss. But after emailing Nutrafol, they offered me a discount to continue. Since I felt the price was a little high this offer caused me to continue my subscription for another year. I appreciate a company that is willing to help out when needed. Thank you.
Caused hot flashes
I took the supplement for just about 6 weeks. It was suggested by my dermatologist for hair thinning. They must be doing a lot of marketing with dermatologists. But I stopped it because I started having hot flashes and I realized it was the supplement. I am in my late 40s but have not started menopause symptoms yet. My symptoms went away when I stopped taking it. I took the women’s balance formula which is suggested for my age. I can’t find anywhere to report these adverse side effects so I’m posting it here in case other women have similar symptoms. The whole Nutraceutical industry is a little scary since it’s unregulated. I’m surprised mainstream dermatologists are recommending it. I certainly don’t want to take something that is triggering early menopause. I’m finally throwing it out and thought I should leave a review as kind of a public service announcement. But this was about a year ago.
Terrible Customer Service
The product works very well. I noticed hair growth in about four months. However, my last bottle I ordered direct from Nutrafol. The bottle was shattered. I was on hold with Nutrafol for three hours and receive a representative that could care less that my product was unusable and that I was on hold for over three hours. I would recommend paying extra and bottling from Ulta. Seems wasteful and expensive to use glass for the bottle instead of plastic.
Not a significant improvement to justify the price
First of all, it’s unfair to not be able to leave reviews at Nutrafol’s actual website.
I have been taking Nutrafol for 6 months and stopped. In a few months I stayed committed and took them for a full year. What can I say - I think my hair looks slightly fuller at the roots, but it’s not an amazing, life-changing, miracle result I was hoping for. The vitamins are very expensive yet hair grows does take time, but for me - the price isn’t worth a little progress it made.

So intent on their scam they lost a real customer
Was actually working for me, but they’re so scammy that you can’t edit your payment method on their website, so when mine stopped working there was no way for me to fix it and their only solution was to call me to update it on their end, which is so stupid I just cancelled instead.

12 Months of Proper Use with Zero Results – A Total Failure

I have been using Nutrafol consistently for a full year, and it has been a complete waste of time and money. I am writing this to warn others who might be in the same position.
My Experience & Routine:
I followed the instructions perfectly for 365 days. I didn't just take the four capsules; I took them consistently after a full meal and followed them with a spoonful of coconut oil to ensure maximum absorption of the fat-soluble ingredients. Despite this "gold standard" routine, I have seen zero improvement.
• Hair Quality: Even with a year of internal support, my hair continues to suffer from persistent split ends. I am not referring to old damage—the new growth coming out lacks structural integrity and begins splitting. It is weak and brittle.
• Nail Strength: My nails remain thin and "bendy," breaking and peeling exactly as they did two years ago. For a supplement that claims to support keratin, the fact that my nails are still soft and flexible after a year is proof the product isn't working.
No Medical Issues:
To be sure the issue wasn't my health, I had a full professional workup. My Iron, Ferritin, and Thyroid levels are all completely normal. My body has the healthy foundation needed for growth, but this supplement failed to provide the "boost" it promised.
The Verdict:
If you have healthy lab results and think this expensive supplement will fix your "bendy" nails or splitting hair, think again. I gave it a full year and optimized my absorption with healthy fats, and it still did absolutely nothing. It’s a huge disappointment.

Works best when combined with the taoist soap
Works best when combined with regular scalp massage, the Taoist soap (2x a week), a paraban free shampoo (to avoid further damaging hair) and taking in enough collagen from foods and staying away from high fat/sugar/carb diets.
results on average takes about 2-3 months, varies person to person, slower on men, but faster on women.
nutrafol is a good company, and has been around for years, their supplements are decent but they should really advise customers about how to best get results as its sad that many companies know, but don't do anything about it as they make money, and gives hair care industry a bad name.
i had to spent maybe thousands of pounds before i realized this, and thats why i post reviews like this to share my hair growth story.
you have to remember, taking a supplement or topical product, you can't then go out, eat junk, and not exercise at all, and expect miracles. its taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back, you will never get anywhere with this approach.
i highly recommend forming a hair care routine, that suits your body and hair type, but also realize, hormones, nutrients and circulation are key factors affecting hair in men and women. so you have to target all, if you need results.
the downside i would say for nutrofol is cancelling their renewal subscritions. i needed to change it but it didnt let me.

Inability to shop for anything without support
I saw a little to no hair growth results in 6 months.
But I have underlying conditions so I'm willing to believe it may have prevented additional hair loss.
I canceled my subscription because of the absolutely stupid way that they do business.
I was sent a free trial I was interested in more and it took 4 days just to get to the point where somebody could take my order because you can't just log in and order more of what you need.
You can't buy some of their other supplements because you want them you have to wait for them to prescribe them to you and then if you want more you have to call them to tell them you want more because you can't just log in and buy it.
You have to do with your customer support I don't have a full day to dedicate to ordering a supplement that I can buy at The Vitamin Store

Not A SERUM
This is being sold as a "serum".
This is not a serum. It is a very watery product that is not easy to apply. It drips into your eyes while applying to hairline.
So far I cant say if it works for increasing hair thickness or not, but since it is not easy to apply and represented as a serum, I am not expecting much.

I used Nutrafol for 2 years with no results
I used Nutrafol for 2 years, the Women's Formula for 1 year, and the Vegan Formula for 1 year. It made zero difference for my hair. I stuck with it this long because my dermatologist said it can take a long time but I give up. I'm giving it two stars because they have great customer service and provide a consult with a doctor and hair sample testing. All of that was interesting but none of it helped my hair loss.

Cancelation going wrong
Update 01/26/26
We received the reimbursement as agreed. Since this is not a product review I'll upgrade to 4* even though the customer experience was a bit confusing in the end. Unfortunately, I won't be able to use the product because of doctors orders. Should have consulted my GP beforehand.
Update 01/23/26
After contacting customer service again I received feedback that the email shipping notification was regarding the first order. 🤔 Supposedly not a second charge or shipment. I'll monitor if that's really the case and am waiting for the reimbursement to clear.
Just canceled subscription after first shipment arrived a few days ago. Ordered January 12 so next shipment is not even due yet. Got email confirmation that cancelation was okay and 50% of first charge will be reimbursed, but then a few minutes later I received another shipment confirmation email. Not happy with customer service right now. To be continued...

I have used the capsules 2 in morning…
I have used the capsules 2 in morning and 2 at night for about 9 months and It looks like I lost more hair while I was taking it then before I started taking it
