I DO NOT RECOMMEND!
I’ve been dealing with Oak Street Health for a couple of years now. Getting a referral submitted correctly or submitted at all is like pulling wisdom teeth! No matter how many telephone calls you make asking where is my referral they keep passing the buck and making false promises that they never keep! Do yourself a favor and search elsewhere for a primary care physician! This place is very unprofessional and they do not follow up or do their jobs! I will be changing primary care physicians after trying to get my lung CAT scan for six weeks now with no success!! The entire office is incompetent! This location was in Dayton Ohio on Wayne Avenue.
Wow keep reading very concerning…
Wow keep reading very concerning reviews. “The Owner” always responds with a canned statement meant to convey caring but promises nothing. Seems these experiences need to be shared with the Texas Medical Board
No Response
Over the last 4 years I have had 3 different doctors. The biggest issue, j think, is the call center or wherever they manage referrals. They either don't send, send multiples, code incorrectly, and do not call back. I am now supposed to go for PET scan after my lung CT. The nurse at Loyola has called 4 days to get a call back (24-48 hrs. Per Oak St. Hlth.)so that they can schedule the test for cancer. Still no reply. I went into the office today to talk to someone, but all at luch abd waiting for call back. A person has to constantly follow up to get things done. This is THEIR job. I am SO disappointed in them and will have try to find a doctor (primary) elsewhere. These days it's not so easy.
Criminals hiring criminals
This outfit hires inidan scammers who call American citizens - including numbers on the Do Not Call List - to convince them to use this "service". Apparently, they think that hiring criminals to do their dirty work makes them immune... Wouldn't trust them with a shovel.
no follow up I went to them on October…
no follow up I went to them on October 30 .I've called twice because I had two different x-rays done. I had blood work done. No follow up now. I'm waiting for another callback but you know they're not gonna call me back. I am not gonna go with them anymore. They haven't gotten good reviews I'm going back to my doctor.
What happened to Oak Street Health
What happened to Oak Street Health? I am not sure, but as a patient, it isn't good. If you do get sick, no doctor calls you back anymore. I was scheduled for an appointment at 11AM today. Transportation was scheduled to arrive at 1040AM. I confirmed this appointment and ride by phone twice and once by text. No one called to say my ride was coming, no text message either. I called the local number for OSH, but went to the Call Center. Everyone at the Call Center is polite and understanding, but they too are unable to reach the local OSH. An urgent message was sent to my Care Team and I will receive a call ASAP. Still waiting, I'm now over 15 minutes late for my scheduled appointment and I am still waiting for somebody to notice. This is the 2nd time within the last month.
I just received a call and was told a Lyft was supposed to pick me up. My appointment was rescheduled for another day.
And I’m being nice I’m writing this…
And I’m being nice I’m writing this because I saw a marketing ad walked in for so I thought appt they wanted my insurance I waited, thinking for the Dr well was brought to another office to talk again about insurance I had Medicare and Medicaid which always covered it before oh no they preceded to tell me that they accept Medicare but they send the bill to me and then I am responsible to make sure bill is paid even though I have no copay so I’ve been sick lately knowing I would forget ,Any other Dr I had before do there own billing something was up they wanted chk or mo. I told the rep I wasn’t interested again not good enough she tried keeping me and family member in the room. I became very angry and said get out of my way. I can’t speak for other locations but this happened in Pa . So beware!
This is not a jab at the company
This is not a jab at the company, but a jab at their marketing partner. Their partner started calling at 5am and would not stop calling until I finanly was able to obtain a local address. I will say that once I was able to talk to a person in your office that spoke english I was able to request that my name and number be removed from your call list. Your partner company will not remove me from your list when I ask they hang the phone up on me.
They really don't care about patients…
They really don't care about patients cuz they have big pockets to blast false TV advertisements. My sister has numerous health issues and she's been on the same medications for over 20 years and although her health isn't very good she was at the point where she could actually go out and socialize rather than bed ridden and depressed but after only a month using these jerks she's completely bed ridden and looking worse than I've seen her in years and calls and pleas to take her off their drugs and put her back on regime that was working she's been completely ignored and is just a shell waiting for death 😔
Unprofessional and uncaring
I'll make this brief. I'm a new patient at Oak Street Health. Here are four things I learned I think you should know.
Don't believe the TV commercials. They fear their patients. Office staff is lazy and dishonest. Medical staff is incompetent.
They have two buzz in doors with a security guard patrolling the lobby. I didn't see security guards in their commercials, did you? They fear the patients they are set up to serve.
The Patient Relations Manager (PRM) informed me she doesn't answer insurance plan or billing questions; she referred me to an outside source. In the booklet she hands out, it reads the exact opposite, plan and billing questions are her major responsibility. She was do nothing lazy.
The medial assistant didn't know how to take a blood pressure reading. She fit the cuff on my arm, then walked away, leaving my arm hanging. The arm should be elevated. That mistake can change the reading by 5 to 10 points. It was easy to see she didn't care at all.
I didn't get to see a doctor as advertised on TV. Instead, I got Nurse Practitioner Alesha Kingsby (Alesha Simmons on billing statement). She didn't ask any medical questions. All she wanted to know was if I smoke weed and if I graduated from high school. When I explained by medical conditions, as a nurse she didn't understand them, so she couldn't develop a medical plan to help me. Kingsby/Simmons was rude and incompetent.
The oath of all in the medical profession is "do no harm." Everyone I worked with at Oak Street Health failed their oath.
Fortunately, the Annual Enrollment Period is now. I plan on getting rid of the Oak Street Bums and switch to a provider with professional caring doctors that do no harm.
I needed a prescription for oxygen…
I needed a prescription for oxygen because my health care plan changed when I turned 65 in July, and the oxygen machine company I was using didn't accept Cigna. I changed to Humana and scheduled an appointment explaining my desperate need for a new oxygen prescription; I had to wait almost 4 weeks for my first appointment. It has been difficult without oxygen, especially at night, so I was looking forward to my appointment. The nurse's aide told me that I would get the prescription on my third visit. According to their protocol, my next appointment would be for lab work, and the third visit would be to review the results of the lab work. I couldn't understand why I had to wait for my third visit. Without oxygen I could have a stroke! It's not about our health, it's about what they can bill.
I am in the process of finding another healthcare provider in my area. I would not recommend Oak Street Health to anyone for any reason whatsoever.
If you want to be insulted
If you want to be insulted and disrespected oak Street is for you. I'm 66 years old and have never been treated like this by any doctor or supposed to be a health provider. Don't let the ads fool you. They don't care if you live or die. It's all about the money. I will never set foot in oak Street Health again.
BUSINESS SEEMS TO BE RUN BADLY
I made an appoint for new patient 1.5 weeks ago. Then I received calls (one at 5am in morning), numerous emails, numerous texts REMINDING ME OF THIS FIRST APPT. Then today, on day of appt, I get a call at 7:30am TO CANCEL THE APPT BECAUSE THE PERSON WHO LEADS 90 MIN introduction appt...CALLED IN SICK. So I was bothered probably 7+ times to remind me...THEN THEY CANCEL AN INTRO APPT!! NEEDLESS TO SAY, this kind of bad HEALTHCARE I WILL NOT TOLERATE...& CANCELLED any further business. I read other review that said someone cancelled at last minute as well. THIS IS TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT OF HEALTHCARE. RUN.
Please change your commercial which is…
Please change your commercial which is more like circus commercial then healthcare. Quality commercials are the main source for viewers to choose the product or company. Thank you.
Appointment schedulers lack training…
Appointment schedulers lack training and understanding of available services as well as poor english communication skills. I tried three times to make an appointment and was never able to accomplish that simple task. This left me with a very poor impression of Oak Stree Health.
SCAM organization
Just got a phone call from them, saying they were responding to my request for information about them about getting a Primary Care Provider. I stated that I had not made any such request since I had never heard of them. She repeatedly said I had requested that they contact me. She stated she would put me on their "do not call" list. I then did a computer search about them and learned they are a scam organization which preys on Medicare patients.
They Withhold Important Information
They failed to provide information up front on their fees, and are fees are not available online. Before you are seen by the NP, you MUST sign an authorization that states you're responsible for any unpaid balance after (in my case) Medicare and Tricare for Life pay the claims. That can add up to a hefty sum. I was never told if they accepted Tricare for Life or not. (I checked after my visit and it is not listed online as an accepted supplemental coverage.) They refer you to an insurance agent that provides information about supplemental plans if you drop your original Medicare, but they very well know changes can only be made during open season (Mid-October). Meanwhile, knowing this they make lab & visit appointments for you with no regard to the balances you will be responsible for. They make decisions for you instead of giving you information and then asking for your preferences. This review is regarding the Oracle clinic in Tucson.
I have never experienced a clinic like…
I have never experienced a clinic like this. I am so impressed with my interactions with them. From the doctors and the rest of the staff, they make my visits actually enjoyable.. And, the social activities are so much fun to join. I'd give them a AAA+
This place is a total joke
This place is a total joke. I would have to travel 40 minutes one way.
WHY THE HELL WOULD I LEAVE MY LONG TIME DOCTORS FOR THIS PIECE OF CRAP
I get a letter to my home saying…
I get a letter to my home saying congratulations on turning 65. Well I'm not turning 65. Anyway on the outside of the envelope it said there is a gift inside. There was no gift inside. These people are all about money as far as I understand as far as I can see. I would never do business with any of them. Have a nice day.
