OCL were overseeing a claim on behalf of my car insurance where I was victim to a car crashing into my car and fleeing, thankfully their car was left at scene allowing me to claim from their insurance.
My insurance managed to recover my costs for vehicle within 5 weeks of the incident, however instructed OCL to recover their costs for vehicle storeage/hire vehicle due to the lack of communication from third party insurance.
I was bombarded by calls from unknown numbers and emails which I soon found out to be from OCL.
Within days of my costs been recovered, i was asked to provide documentation to support the claim should it go to court, information for the last 6 months leading up to the crash, bank statements from all accounts, payslips, my child's savings accounts, shared accounts with my wife - I was told if i do not comply I may incur the legal costs myself leaving me feeling threatened and confused as to why I needed to provide my child's savings accounts information in their name.
Whilst I was more than happy to comply and i understood the requirement to provide all documentation - the claim at this point had been with OCL for a week and I feel they 'jumped the gun' with me on this one causing me an unnecessary amount of stress and worry when I consider myself to be a victim in this matter.
After providing all documentation as quick as I could, I had an email to say the payment has been made by the third party insurance and I can consider the case to be closed by a different person.
I have not been advised all documentation that i provided has been destroyed and whilst I understand that OCL had been instructed by my solicitors to retrieve costs owed to them, they have took a 'brute' approach with me leaving me to feel frustrated, threatened and annoyed following what has been a fairly stressful situation for me.
I do not feel i have had a good experience with OCL they have lacked a 'Humane personable approach'.
I hope other people do not have the same experience as me because this was a toxic and horrible situation to be in, I hope OCL review this and improve.
