Total SCAM! Letter arrived in the post today "to the registered keeper" - real companies with DVLA authority to receive details would have your name. Address is also incorrect as well. Next we get to the "PCN" dated for an offence over 6 weeks ago, for an address of a car park that doesn't exist (it's a small residential street), issued from One Car parks whose address on the PCN is also invalid (20 Exchange place London). No evidence of the alleged parking offense is given or time on the alleged day when I didn't leave the house all day. £150 fine which is too large (£100 UK unofficial standard), pressure to pay and only by bank transfer.
The website re-iterates the lies on the "PCN" about how they don't enter into discussion, and they don't respond to challenges.
Stay well clear!
Wow, I wrote the original review stating OneCarParks was a scam and Trustpilot removed my review because it breached their policy.
I see already 13 people have added similar reviews stating the points of the scam... luckily those still exist...
How can Trustpilot remove a review for highlighting a scam? incredible.
So, why are they a scam:
The locations of the parking offence are non-existent
The location of their office is non-existent
There is no evidence nor time shown of the parking offence.
..... and so many more red flags.. but I'm careful what bI write or this will also be removed.
SCAM!!! Do not pay - this is not a valid PCN for the following reasons:
- site at Littlehampton Rd postcode doesn’t exist and there is no private car park there
- a valid PCN must be delivered within 14 days (mine was 46 days), it must include entry and exit times (there are none because it’s a scam), they must allow a complaints procedure (they simply continue to demand money), they must be registered with the BPA or IPC this company is not and In England fines for parking in private car parks without paying is capped at £100 (the “fine” here is £150). I do not want anyone more vulnerable than me to fall victim to this scam. If you receive a similar letter by post or correspondence by email report to (I) Report Fraud (II) email report@ phishing.gov.uk, (III) companies house insolvency service and (IV) Lloyds bank who this fraudster is fraudulently banking with. Thanks to everyone who reviewed so far which allowed me to realise I am not going mad and this is a total scam.
We got one too. Agree with everything everyone else has said in these reviews. Scaring my 80+ mother saying she has been to an address she would never been to or wouldn't drive there as too far for her. They must be targeting this local area. Will not be paying a penny!
Same as everyone else really, scam! No info, horrible company with threatening emails/letters.
Will be reporting to the police!
Same as all the other reviews here. Supposedly parked on land off Littlehampton Road with a post code which doesn't exist. Like others blamed Highdown Garden Centre although I've actually no recollection of having visited there on the day in question seven weeks ago. Pretty certain it's a scam and could have done without spending all day trying to establish that. How did they get my address as the registered keeper? I can't find them on the accredited parking firms websites. Will be reporting them.1
Like all the others here, I too received a Parking Charge Notice. Same location which turns out to be an industrial site off of Littlehampton road and likewise I have never been there or parked my car there.
I have been to the local police this morning and they advised me strongly to contact One Car Parks website to advise them of the fact that I was NOT there in order that it is put into writing and that One Car Parks have been contacted regarding the original letter sent and the fact there I did not go there. They did emphasize that this was important to do!
I have now sent an email to One Car Parks using their contact form on their site - Interestingly the police said that they had seen one of these letters last week from someone else.
It's a scam!!
Myself and a neighbour both had a letter. Apparently both parked at the same place same time same day.
We received a letter in post from one car parks claiming my daughter had contravened parking terms. At McDonald's drive thru.
Letter as with other reviewers sticky label on quite an aggressive letter demanding £150.if paid within seven days this goes down to £90. Also asking for driver details within 7 days be disclosed. I did email company asking for evidence of times etc. I was told they had information including photographic evidence on file and they investigated the evidence throughly. I asked for copies. They just sent same email again. So I asked them to clarify that they were refusing to supply me with the evidence needless to say I haven't heard back.
I was very sceptical that this was a genuine PCN as its taken nearly 2 months to send it. I am going to ask McDonald's and Starbucks if they know anything about this.
But until I hear otherwise I am treating this as a Scam and passing it on to local police.
You should be ashamed of yourselves for sending out fake scamming parking notices! Thankfully I had seen this warning online, when my mum contacted me to ask if I thought it was fake! I pity the poor people who do pay you out of fear where they haven’t got anyone to ask about the legitimacy of the letter! My parents even went to the police station to check, and they’ve had others pop in to ask too. You absolute scammer.
Same with me - received exactly the same as other reviewers - must be a scam…..don’t pay!
Scam.
Received a "PCN" for a location we've never visited.
Letter itself is a decent effort, but lots of tell-tale signs;
- sticky labels on a document that could've (in a real-world situation) been generated entirely by computer
- period between the reported incident and the document arriving (over 2 months - this stuff is all automated nowadays)
- 1A limited only registered in October last year
- no phone number, no manned email address
- loads of "you must do now" phrasing
- claims you've no right to appeal
- claims evidence is "on file" but it's not included in the document
Same as above, also for Littlehampton Rd. & delivered by Royal Mail. I was even worrying my reg plate had been cloned! Big identifier is address doesn’t exist & no appeals process is listed, plus not member of ATA. Although it took a while for me to work this all out! Thankfully saw these reviews.
Received a "Parking fine" today in the post. Location I apparently parked is a duel carriage way -littlehampton road with no pay and display or private car parks on it, on a date I was working and went straight home (the opposite direction of this road). The companies address listed 20 exchange place, London doesn't exist. They have only an email address which you can not appeal to apparently just request payment information. Listed with a bank transfer only. They have no contact number either. I have reported them to companies house and action fraud.
Like Stuart Jones, I to received a demand for money from this company. Like Mr. Jones I could not find the address where the alleged "Offence" took place. The nearest I found was the car park at Highdown Garden Centre, their post code matches that given in the letter and although I have parked there to visit and shop I'm pretty certain it's free. Neither could I find the address in London to send details of the driver. my research also lead me to find the parent company. 1A Limited to have been incoperated just 4 months ago, and has only one director. The tone of the letter is one of "Pay Up or Else",
" Don't try to contact us",
"We won't accept any challenge or provide any proof"
"Just Pay Up".
Payment is only accepted by bank transfer to a Lloyds Bank Acc:
To conclud, I have just phoned the Garden Centre and they confirm parking there is free.
Like Mr. Jones I suspect this to be a Scam, and I too will not be sending this company any money.
