Insurance process made easy for a bike crash!
The team at pedal cover were very communicative and accommodating to the situation I was in (after crashing my bike). The process of providing details was relatively simple and Jonathan was a great help. When dropping off the broken bike the team helped us bring all the parts in and were very friendly. I hope I don’t need to use them again but if I do I feel comfortable knowing that it wouldn’t be made difficult like a lot of insurance processes can be

Great quoting experience
After getting my home insurance renewal, I wanted to get a policy that was more tailored to our circumstances, which is where I found Pedal Cover. They provide both Home, Contents and specialise insurance for bikes. The quoting process was really easy and after a few emails with Joe, who was extremely helpful in helping me understand the policy details, I cancelled my current policy and went with Pedal Cover.

We have just been refused our claim for…
We have just been refused our claim for two bikes valued at £5000. They were both stolen from our garage last weekend, what we didnt realise when we stored them in our garage was that the garage door had to be a specific type to ensure we were covered, we obviously didnt see this in the small print so unfortunately we are now down £5000 and no bikes. Please make sure if you insure with Pedal Cover that you check all small print or you might well be insuring nothing like us

However, we would like to clarify that the security requirements relating to garage doors and approved storage are not hidden in “small print.” These criteria are clearly detailed throughout the quotation and policy purchase/renewal process, as well as within the policy documentation.
As a specialist cycle insurer, our security requirements form a key part of the policy terms and are agreed to by customers when purchasing cover. These conditions are in place to help protect against theft claims and ensure fair and consistent underwriting for all policyholders.
We always encourage customers to review the security requirements carefully and contact us if they are unsure whether their storage arrangements meet the policy criteria.

Any excuse to wriggle out and they will
Been with this company for six years and had my best racing bike stolen from my shed. First they used the excuse that I could not prove proof of ownership, then they said I had the wrong kind of padlock on. Even though the thieves used bolt cotters to get in. Don't know what has upset me the most, the thieves who stole my bike or the insurance company who won't pay up.

Our decision wasn’t about finding reasons not to pay. Proof of ownership and meeting the required security standards are fundamental parts of the policy agreed to when cover is purchased, and they’re essential to ensuring claims are handled fairly and consistently.
