Headline: Paying for a "Full Management" service that didn't exist.
I previously used Peter Alan for a "Managed" service, but the experience was a series of failures from start to finish.
Lack of Oversight: Despite paying for management, no annual inspections were carried out, leaving me in the dark regarding the property's condition.
Poor Communication: My attempts to raise concerns were frequently ignored. Communication was consistently poor, with emails going unanswered for long periods.
Administrative Failure: The final straw was the tenancy exit. The agency refused to perform the basic task of notifying utility providers (Ovo) with the tenants' forwarding address and final readings. I was told to "do it myself," despite the agency holding all the records.
I ultimately had to bypass the agency to resolve these issues directly with the tenants and utility companies. It is frustrating to pay a percentage of rent for a service that requires the landlord to do the agent's job. I have now moved my business elsewhere and would strongly advise other landlords to look for an agency that actually fulfills its contractual obligations.

Awful experience
The worst estate agent I have ever dealt with. As a buyer and a professional in the residential property field, I was appalled at the awful service given by Peter Alan. I had to resend essential information multiple times, chase up their ‘sales progressor’ to reply to my emails and when I spoke to the sales progressor on the phone, the rude and passive aggressive tone she used was beyond unprofessional. The team didn’t even have the decency to respond to my emails at a critical points in the transaction and on the day of completion, they didn’t even bother to tell me we had completed! If I could give them zero stars I would and if I ever sell my house, I will never use Peter Alan as the sales agent.

Costly mistake trusting Newport branch
I used Peter Alan, Newport to purchase a park home. Despite emphasising how much experience they have selling them, paperwork was incorrectly completed, and a mandatory form was missing. I was misled, to put it politely by the manager regarding fees, and given false information by her staff. I felt pressurised into transferring funds just before Christmas.

Paula jones lettings manager and nicole in the neath branch have been really good in making sure as a tennant that i had everything i needed to settle in my house they could not do enough for me i had a problem with the washing machine and was promptly taken care of within two days i couldnt ask for more from them both highly recomend the team at peter allan
Poor communication
One star is extremely generous, Upon on viewing the property we were promised that renovation works would be carried out on the rear garden, we have emailed for an update of when works are expected to commence numerous time but been ignored every time. We are also having issues with damp/mould and a woodlice infestation but they don’t seem to care about sorting that. I have filed a complaint to which I have been told to wait upto 15 working days for a response so basically at least 3 more weeks of living in a damp mouldy infested house.
Now today issues with the lock on front door and we just get told it’s categorised as urgent but we just have to keep waiting with dodgy locks meaning we can’t go out as the landlord isn’t answering their calls and they can’t do anything without consulting him first.
Worst communication and customer service skills known to man I think.

New manager at Talbot green branch absolutely unreal how rude is she? Very Direct and rude and doesn’t let you speak. The staff are not happy working with her and she’s new to the branch in South Wales. It used to be such a lovely place with everyone happy and smiling but since the new managers there were a massive difference I was going to put my bungalow For Sale with you I can’t I really can’t. I’m sorry you’ve lost The Sale with this all down to your Staff. Somebody who is too outspoken and Direct speaks over you the kind of person you want when you’re selling your home it’s a nervous thing and it’s a big step to be told. I am the manager of this Door and I have made multiple changes is not good you sold my last apartment years ago I won’t be returning.

Dealt with Aniya at the Talbot green branch she took on the roll as a managing the first stage of our home for sale she was amazing I would’ve hired her myself if I had a similar company absolutely devastated that she left there …. I spoke to the new manager that totally made me not want to put my house For Sale with you. She was Direct very rude and told me there’s big changes there since she got there the other person ANIYA was very on point accurate she cared so much for her company and she is a great asset to your business. I’ve not been told she’s been moved to a different branch so unfortunately my house is not on the market.

Tried to book a viewing of a property…
Tried to book a viewing of a property with them. Found the whole process unnecessarily stressful.
Went through the ‘registration process’ with an agent at 9.15am A second agent phoned at 9.45 am and had no record of the previous process. Unlike other agents I have booked viewings with, the questions became increasingly intrusive and unnecessary. Surely it is up to me how I intend financing the house purchase? When I refused to answer the questions, I was told I was being extremely difficult and unhelpful to deal with. Hardly the attitude to treat a potential purchaser with. As I understand that all calls are recorded for “training purposes”, perhaps my call should be listened to by higher management and acted upon!
It was only when I threatened to go to the vendor directly that begrudgingly a viewing was agreed.
If you are a seller, perhaps look elsewhere? We came extremely close to not bothering with the viewing at all due of the attitude of this member of staff.

One star is generous, as I cannot select a lower rating. I would not recommend this estate agency for selling a property. As a first-time seller, my experience was very disappointing. The value of my property was significantly overestimated and the property did not sell.
Avoid at all costs!
There are no words to describe the sheer level of incompetence displayed by Peter Alan (the Cardiff branches at least). If I could give zero stars I would.
Tried many times to view some properties for sale but appointments were constantly cancelled and rearranged, usually last minute (several times when we were literally on the way to the property). They seem to grossly over-inflate their listing prices just for the properties to sit for months not selling before eventually dropping them (from what I've read something to do with them getting commission based on 'listed' price rather than sale price).
When we did finally manage to actually get a viewing the agent absolutely oozed sleazy salesman. Felt like the kind of person who would sell their own mother for a few quid. Asked about our AIP and claimed 'We own them so we can definitely get you a better deal' (completely false).
They will also call you repeatedly even when you ask them not to, to the point where it is borderline harassment.
Nothing brings me greater disappointment than finding a property I like the look of and then discovering it's being sold through Peter Alan.
Please do yourself a favour and avoid them at all costs.

Never answer the phone. Been ringing for 3 days
I want to view a house they're advertising at the Morriston branch. Been calling them for 3 days, 4/5 calls each time when I can, as I'm at work and they don't answer. I've given up. I'll pass on the property, so if you're selling with them, take note.
This isn't the first time either, I've had the same experience with the Porthcawl and Bridgend. It's so I'd never put a house up for sale with them. Completely useless.
Expensive Pests, Avoid!!!
I had a valuation from Peter Alan around the middle of 2025. Firstly, they wildly over-estimated the value of my property in order to get my custom, and secondly they were asking for fees in excess of four grand for their services. I was horrified by their fee, which was not even nearly competitive with other estate agencies. Plus they absolutely would NOT take no for an answer when I chose someone else to sell my house. Peter Alan phoned me at least eight times after I notified them I did not want their services and I expressly requested that they remove my name from their systems every time they called. But no, they kept calling and pestering me for at least five months, sometimes with up to three calls a week. I've now been living in my new house for two months and I've just taken yet ANOTHER call!!!! At this point, I'm seriously considering calling the police and reporting them for harassment. It's just ridiculous that they won't leave me alone. I find their sales tactics to be unnecessarily aggressive, they clearly don't listen and they charge double what others charge for the privilege. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID! This estate agency is an absolute nightmare.
